* DestructiveSavior: For a teenaged Godzilla, Junior pretty much caused some destruction, but ont at a collateral level as his father. Even if he's RaisedByHumans. However, being Godzilla's son and able to breath a stream of atomic breath, it's kinda inevitable.

* CharacterAgedWithTheActor: Momoko Kochi as Emiko Yamane. Despite Akira Takarada being still-living at this time, his character, Ogata, is never seen or mentioned, implying that he died sometime after the events of 1954. Sadly, this would be Kochi's final reprisal as the character as she died in 1998.
* ContinuityNod: Several connections with the original ''[[{{Film/Gojira}} Godzilla]]'' appear on this film:
** Emiko (played once again by Momoko Kochi mentioned above) senses Kensaku Ijuin's Micro-oxygen being smiliar to Daisuke Serizawa's Oxygen Destroyer, thus, the flashback (with the stock footage from the original Godzilla) making the connection.

* FromBadToWorse: Godzilla is about to explode if someone doesn't do anything about it. Freeze him, and crisis averted. Then Godzilla's going to undergo a literal SuperPowerMeltdown. Then it gets worse: a mutated life form is killing fish, has the powers of the Oxygen Destroyer, can transform multiple stages, and its final from [[MemeticMutation looks like the ''goddamn devil'']].

* FromBadToWorse: Godzilla is about to explode if someone doesn't do anything about it. Freeze him, and crisis acerted. Them Godzilla's going to undergo a literal SuperPowerMeltdown. Then it gets worse: a mutated life form is killing fish, has powers of that of the Oxygen Destroyer, can transform multiple stages, and its fina from [[MemeticMutation looks like the ''goddamn devil'']].

* CoolPlane: The Super-X III is capable of tanking Godzilla's fire head-on.

The final film of the {{Godzilla}} Heisei series. ''Godzilla vs. Destoroyah'' involves Godzilla suffering from a [[SuperpowerMeltdown nuclear meltdown]] with 2 scenarios: A. He will blow up, resulting a nuclear explosion that will destroy the world. Or B. He will meltdown at 1200 degrees to the point he will destroy the world from the inside. New problems arise when fish in aquariums are being reduced to skeletons caused by creatures awakened by the Oxygen Destroyer used to kill the first Godzilla in the original ''[[{{Film/Gojira}} Godzilla]]''. Now the world rests on Godzilla and his newly grown son to take on this new threat, before the nuclear dinosaur dies.

** Emiko's nightmare after Ken Yamane's GoodJobBreakingItHero moment (to some people, it doubles as WhatTheHellHero) when he declares using the Oxygen Destroyer on Godzilla's current state. Emiko's nightmare sequence plays another flashback scene in which Ogata and Serizawa went underwater and Serizawa using the weapon underwater. Of course, Emiko and Miki Saegusa both object to this.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The original story was originally Godzilla fighting his predcessor in a form of a ghost (the 1954 Godzilla by the way), but the idea's been scrapped due to the idea of two of Godzilla's enemies bing another Godzilla or Godzilla-like monster had already had its use. So now, they used the elements of the [[Film/{{Gojira}} original film]], and made out a monster born from the very weapon that killed the first Godzilla.
* WhatTheHellHero: After witnessing Destoroyah use his breath weapon, Ken decides to have Junior drawn to Godzilla to fight him so Destoroyah can kill him because Destoroyah's strength draws from the Oxygen Destroyer. ''WHY!?!'' It's bad enough Miki objects to this, since Junior just wants to return to the place of his birth while Godzilla's desperately trying to find his son, which was his actual motive and not attacking random nuclear power plants on his way.

* WHatCouldHaveBeen: The original story was originally Godzilla fighting his predcessor in a form of a ghost (the 1954 Godzilla by the way), but the idea's been scrapped due to the idea of two of Godzilla's enemies bing another Godzilla or Godzilla-like monster had already had its use. The film was made to briefly retire the franchise so that America could create their own film. But due to the negative reaction of the [[Film/{{Godzilla}} American Godzilla film]], they made ''Film/Godzilla2000'', exactly one year after the American remake.
