''Blue Steel'' is a 1989 thriller directed by Creator/KathrynBigelow, starring Creator/JamieLeeCurtis, Creator/RonSilver and Creator/ClancyBrown.

Megan Turner (Curtis) is a recently graduated rookie cop in the New York Police Department. When she stops a robbery by shooting the perpetrator, the weapon is stolen by Eugene Hunt (Silver), a Wall Street banker who soon discovers that he enjoys killing people and becomes enamored with the female cop. He manages to start a relationship with Megan, but when she finds out that he's the killer they've been looking for, a cat and mouse game ensues as Hunt goes to increasingly violent means to take back Megan, while (naturally, because, you know, he's a murderer and she's a cop) trying to ensure he doesn't get turned in.
