As much as I love Final Fantasy VI, its narrative can be a bit thin in places. *Darkness and Starlight* fills in the blanks and develops the world and its conflicts more deeply, viewed through the lens of Locke and Celes's relationship. The author loves this game very deeply, and it shows in every word she writes.

* ''Comments:'' Amazingly written fic with lovely prose, this piece goes beyond a shipping fic by making mention of what other characters are doing and exploring how the rest of the world is adjusting to the loss of magic--particularly Terra. Many minor and major characters pop in at least once and I particularly love seventhe's Remy. Shadow/Terra almost seems inevitable, with the way she writes it. Highly recommended.

* ''Comments'': Oh my god. This is, without a doubt, among some of the BEST well-written fics I've ever read. I'm talking good grammar, paragraph structure, creative and evocative description of details and setting, character exploration, and all the sad, heart wrenching little moments depicting various, pure and unadultured, sadness tropes [[spoiler:(mostly AngstWhatAngst, [[HeroHarassesHelpers Heroine Harasses Helpers]], BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor, and [[SandInMyEyes sand in their eyes]] {{Hurting Hero}}ine, among others I haven't the time to look up and list)]] you could ever want to read about. It's just plain good. Literary good in fact. Very well put together story (with perhaps a little fancy free fantastication involved to be able to suspend your disbelief from time to time). Highly, highly recommended. As in, go read it. Now.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexual or [[BetterThanCanon non-canon]] territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, {{Shipping}} is SeriousBusiness. Also remember if submitting a ROM Hack to link to an IPS or BPS file.
