* BrokenPedestal: Aeris(and Ifalna to an extent) had built up an idealized image of the Cetra. When she finds out that they engaged in historical cherry-picking and that members of her own guild(made up of mostly Cetra) practice hazing, she is forced to accept that all civilizations are flawed in some way. [[spoiler: It was also Cetra officials who foolishly ordered Professor Gast and Ifalna's rescuers to use a dilapidated space portal, causing the Gasts to miss ten years of Aeris and Sephiroth's life, due to time dilation.]]

* WokenUpAtAnUngodlyHour: Shortly after [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Aeris and Sephiroth]] find out they're expecting their first child, Aeris suddenly wakes him up in the middle of the night worrying about it. Sephiroth is not very sympathetic at that hour and she gets out of bed. He then finds her in the morning behind a cushion fort with a bag of cookies. It turns out pregnant Cetra are prone to sleepwalking so she was asleep the whole time. Seph just resigns himself to being woken up late at night.

* WhoWouldWantToWatchUs: In "D-List Celebrities", Remi wonders why Aeris keeps getting calls from TV networks wanting to do a reality show about their family.

** ''Welcome to the Machine'' begins with Reno and Rude outside a conference room in Shinra tower wondering what big imoprtant issue they're discussing that would need Rufus to bring in Cloud, Tifa, Jessie and the other former members of AVALANCHE. Reno is ''not'' happy when he finds a character stat sheet and realizes it was actually a tabletop gaming session.

* AdultFear:
** Due to circumstances out of their control, Gast and Ifalna wind up separated from Aeris and Sephiroth for ten years. [[spoiler:And when they are finally reunited, Aeris is dead of Id's Death. She's revived, but remains in a coma for months afterwards.]]
** After Aeris has a relapse, Gast and Ifalna have to watch as she undergoes a very painful treatment to eliminate the virus completely, all without anesthesia.

* PottyDance: "Right Lesson, Wrong Time" has Sam doing this while Sephiroth tries to convince Raz to let him into the bathroom to use the potty. After finally being let into the bathroom, Sam [[PottyFailure misses the potty]].

This, combined with her ferocious temper, causes Aeris some serious worry about her hurting someone, accidentally or otherwise. Eventually, she and Seph decide to have her start training with the staff to both give her an outlet and teach her disicpline.

* PowerIncontinence: As a teenager, Sephiroth had a tendency to have his hands suddenly burst into flame when stressed out. He took to wearing fire-proof gloves to prevent himself from burning the town down. On the occasion he gets sick, he worries the same thing will happen.

* SarcasmMode: Aeris really starts to lay it on when she's around Rufus.

* SheIsAllGrownUp: Seph suddenly realizes this one day when when Aeris hugs him from behind, causing him to suddenly realize she has breasts now.
* SiblingRivalry: Given the eventual size of their family, it should be no surprise that their kids have the occasional fight, sometimes teasing, sometimes physical.
* SilentTreatment: Aeris does this in "Road Trip" After Seph uses Sleep materia on Keter.
* {{Sleepwalking}}: Pregnant Cetra are apparently prone to sleepwalking episodes, among other things. Gets to the point that by her fourth pregnancy, Aeris thinks she's having a lucid dream when she sees a book apparently based on her and Seph's romance.

* StepfordSmiler: Sephiroth accuses Aeris of being one during their heart-to-heart in ''Life Renewed'', forcing a smile as she lets herself be tossed about by "destiny".
* SupernaturallyYoungParent: Vincent and Sephiroth look exactly the same age, and nobody in Avalanche says "boo" about it.

* SympathyForTheDevil: Jessie starts to get this after spending time with Rufus, finding out they share some of the same interests, [[spoiler: and getting hints about the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father]].

* UnevenHybrid: Aeris and Seph's children are human/Cetra/Seraph mixes, known as Nephilim, which leads to some interesting features; Keter has gills, Remielle has a small white wing (until she has it removed), Malkut has retractable claws, Raziel has fangs and Sera has a small horn on her forehead.

* WhiteMage: Aeris, naturally. While on Beud A'Evori she actually becomes an accredited white mage after joining the White Mages Guild.

* AffectionateNickname: After they get married, Seph begins referring to Aeris as his "Little Mage" (she joins a White Mages guild on Beud A'Evori), usually when he's in the mood. Aeris takes to using for herself when ''she's'' in the mood herself. Or when she wants wants to allude to sex without being obvious, which can lead to awkward situations when she says it in front of a curious three-year old.
