* HybridPower: Amity exhibits several instances of enhanced strength in chapter three, like when she cracks a floor just by stomping on it and is able to catch Saisho's arm and throw it back at him. Luz theorizes that since Amity is both the Avatar and a witch, she has the combined naturally enhanced strength of both a bender and a witch, allowing for feats of strength above both of them if she can properly train herself.

Added DiffLines:

Before she died, Avatar Korra did everything she could to put the world at peace, whether it was stopping wars, improving the economy, or even defending the planet from an alien invasion. She put the world in such a state of peace that fourteen years since her passing, no one cares that the new Avatar has yet to be found. Even back in Avatar Korra's era, people were relying on the Avatar less and less, so it's no wonder that most people wouldn't be bothered by the idea of us being done with Avatars.\\
Not me, though. As both a member of the Order of the White Lotus and someone who grew up reading story after story about the past Avatars, I never once thought that the world didn't need one, so when they needed someone to go looking for the Avatar, I put myself up to the task!\\
There were certain circumstances that made it not exactly a choice on my part, but still, I got to look for the Avatar, and somehow, I found her in a world of magic, a young witch named Amity Blight. She couldn't have cared less about being the Avatar, but I knew with all my heart that I needed to help her come into her own.\\
I couldn't explain it, but I knew that Amity would save both of our worlds."

!!Transcendence provides examples of:
* AbhorrentAdmirer: Myohi to King.
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Amity has been forced to live as a recluse for about a decade in order to keep people from finding out about her wild witch magic (her bending, in reality)with little to no contact with anyone outside of her family, no friends to hang out with, and she's constantly afraid of getting caught and thrown in prison.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** While the full extent of her abilities have yet to be shown, Amity being the Avatar gives her more abilities than she had with just magic.
** Luz appears to know chi-blocking, and also has a pair of the same kind of electric gloves that Asami and the Equalists used.
** While nothing of her has been shown yet, Camila is this by virtue of being the Grand Lotus of the Order of the White Lotus.
* AdaptationOriginConnection: Luz and Camila are both members of the White Lotus, with Camila even being the Grand Lotus.
* AdaptationalSexuality: Odalia is bisexual and Lilith is at least attracted to women in some way, given that they apparently dated in school.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Luz and Amity's relationship starts off better than in the show, and Amity has a better connection to Eda and King thanks to having more interactions with them.
** Amity's relationship with her parents is still bad, but now she's more open with how she feels about them.
* AmbiguousSituation: Dialogue and actions from Hooty and Korra imply that Hooty has somehow met Avatars before.
* AncientOrderOfProtectors: Luz is a member of the Order of the White Lotus, an elite society dedicated to promoting the sharing of philosophies and peace between the Four Nations and protecting the Avatar.
* BerserkButton: Bringing up her relationship with Lilith appears to be a sore spot for Odalia.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Amity has these, by virtue of being the Avatar:
** BlowYouAway: Airbending.
** DishingOutDirt: Earthbending.
** MakingASplash: Waterbending.
** PlayingWithFire: Firebending.
* DeadGuyJunior: Korra and Asami had a daughter named Yasuko, the same name as Asami's mother.
* DeliberateValuesDissonance: One of Amity's motivations for going along with Luz is her feeling bad that she was forced to travel the world on her own for three years when she was just a child. Luz, however, doesn't see a problem with it, if only because she was roughly the same age as Toph Beifong when she traveled with Aang.
* FallenPrincess: Both Amity and Luz are this, Amity because her situation completely disconnects her from the rest of the Blight family, Luz because her constant screw-ups caused her to be kicked out of the White Lotus, which has her mom as the leader.
* Fangirl: Luz is one of everything that has to do with the Avatar. One of the reasons she doesn't feel upset about being forced to travel the world by herself when she was only eleven is because it was the same age Toph Beifong was when she traveled with Aang.
* TheGlomp: Luz gives Amity a big hug after realizing that she's the Avatar.
* Hypocrite: As Amity points out, for as much as her parents see Amity's wild witch magic as a nuisance, they don't hesitate to make her use it when it's convenient for them.
* LonelyRichKid: Amity, even more so than in the show on account of living as a recluse for about a decade.
** Chapter two implies this with Luz, who's still ostracized from her peers for being a weirdo, and a comment from Li implies that being the daughter of the Grand Lotus makes her rich.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Myohi, Luz's pet otter snake.
* NoodleIncident: The AlienInvasion that Korra helped fight back at some point in her life.
* RuggedScar: As shown in her video diary, Korra, at some point, got a large scar running down from her left cheek to the right side of her collarbone.
* SensoryOverload: When Amity first goes to Republic City, she gets a massive headache because the Avatar is able to sense the presence of spirits, something she'd never been around before, so being in the highest concentration of spirits was torturing her.
* SpiritAdvisor: Korra is one to Amity to a certain extent, although she only occasionally makes comments about whatever Amity's doing, and her biggest contribution was getting Amity to go to Eda's stand and meet her and Luz.
* Squee: Luz does this when Amity reveals that she's been having dreams of Avatar Korra's life and communicating with her.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Odalia and Alador are very forceful about keeping Amity as removed from society as possible, but that's only because her only being able to use wild witch magic means that she could be locked up in the Conformatorium, at best.
* WrongContextMagic: Since witches don't know about bending, Amity's bending was mistaken for wild witch magic and is the whole reason her life ended up going the way it did.
