Authority Equals Asskicking has been renamed.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Hork of The Black Gate, he’s a Warchief and one of the more powerful Uruks out there. So powerful that Yang was convinced that even with her entire team they couldn’t possibly take him on in combat. Pugrish also counts as this.

-> ''Thousands of Uruk-Hai are drawn to Remnant after a ritual gone wrong, and are more than capable of bringing their own taste of war to this new world. Now the people of Remnant must deal with this new and numerous threat. As the Tournament draws near, and the actions of the Uruk Leaders grow ever bolder, can peace truly be maintained?''

[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12182559/1/The-Dreamer-Gate The Dreamer Gate]] is a {{crossover}} fanfic between ''VideoGame/MiddleEarthShadowOfMordor'' and ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' that was written by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/4664898/Malignent Malignent]].

The story begins in the land of Mordor, thousands of [[OurOrcsAreDifferent Uruk-Hai]] are gathered to witness a grand ritual conducted by the warchief Tugog [[CharacterTitle the Dreamer]], who has [[DreamingOfThingsToCome the power to see into the future through cryptic dreams]]. However, things don’t go exactly as expected and now they’re transported into the world of Remnant. What happens next is a [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking series of destruction, carnage, and other antics.]]

'''WARNING: Contains unmarked spoilers until Chapter 18'''

----
!!Tropes that the story provides:
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:A-D]]
*AccentSlipUp: Zog the Singer accidentally slips out his uruk voice during his fight with Miltia, which almost surprised her.
*{{Acrofatic}}: Krimp is large enough to dwarf Team RWBY, despite that, not only is he agile enough to keep up with them in direct combat, he’s also stealthy enough to literally sneak away from them without making a ''single'' noise.
*ActionGirl: Of course, considering this is a crossover with RWBY.
*AdaptationalJerkass: Though Dove has always been a bully, here he’s also a snarky asshole that will actively goad, if not, antagonize his classmates for shits and giggles,
*AdultFear: When Yang was captured by the Uruks, she briefly wondered and feared what would happen if Taiyang found out about her situation.
*AFateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler:[[BadPowersBadPeople The Shaman]] has the ability known as “The Shackle”, which subjugates and [[PunIntended shackles]] the souls of those who he has killed or had died within his range.]] Not only are they barred from death, but are also effectively reduced into mindless slaves.
*AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs: During the Battle of Beacon, [[spoiler: The Storm takes complete advantage of the chaos by causing a full-scale siege, killing off opposing Huntsmen and Huntresses and capturing the ‘’entire city’’. They’ve even taken over Ironwood’s Airship!]]
*AmbiguousInnocence: Krimp has a rather joyful and even childlike demeanor, despite that he’s still an Uruk and was raised in a place where violence is as common as air. [[HiddenDepths Chapter 17 implies he’s smarter than he lets on.]]
*AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler: It’s still not clear whether Ratlug killed Qrow or not, while the former had his weapon and his bloody cape, his body isn’t actually shown]].
*AmbitionIsEvil: Pugrish is ambitious enough that [[spoiler: he double-crossed the other warchiefs, took over the City of Vale, and had even planned on challenging Sauron himself once he’s secured Remnant firmly in his grasp]].
*AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: Hork loses both an arm And a leg after being curbstomped by Pugrish. Same could also be said for Cinder, though its actually both of her feet]]
*AnAxeToGrind: Skak with his Blood-Axe, which has a grisly skull that’s wedged on the top.
*AngstWhatAngst: Even though Yang was abducted, enslaved, imprisoned, and almost murdered by otherworldly murderous monsters, she shows no signs of being affected at all. Blake even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this.
*AnyoneCanDie: When [[spoiler: Coco]] is killed from getting her head crushed by Belfor..
*AscendedExtra:
**Both Miltia and Melanie had their roles expanded, now acting as bodyguards to Banz and Rolo (aka Zog and Borgu in human disguises).
**Team CVFY have more major roles, with them rescuing Velvet from the Uruk Slave Tournament. At the end of the volume, [[spoiler: Velvet and Yatsuhashi joins up with Team RNJR on their journey to Mistral after Coco’s death and Fox’s departure.]]
*AsskickingEqualsAuthority:
**[[BlackCloak Pugrish]], aka The Grand Shaman. Possessing enough strength and durability to [[spoiler: tear through and kill the Grimm Wyvern]], exceptional speed and combat prowess which [[spoiler: is enough to match and defeat a ''Fall Maiden'']], and cunning intelligence is what made him the most fearsome Uruk, as well as the leader of The Storm.
**Surprisingly, [[TheSoCalledCoward Uthug]] becomes this. After beating down every opposing enemies and captains in Arceus, he became the de-facto leader of the entire fleet.
*AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Near the end of Chapter 18, [[spoiler: the Grimm known as ‘Bruma’s Folly’ completely annihilates both the attacking Atlesian fleet AND the entire Garrison HQ.]]
*AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Hork of The Black Gate, he’s a Warchief and one of the more powerful Uruks out there. So powerful that Yang was convinced that even with her entire team they couldn’t possibly take him on in combat. Pugrish also counts as this.
*AWolfInSheepsClothing: Zog, Borgu, and Ogthrak (Banz, Rolo, and Mr. Bigsby respectively) are disguised as humans so they could [[ItMakesSenseInContext publish out genre-varied songs/music as well as run a trashy nightclub.]]
*AxCrazy: Bubol the Diseased literally takes pleasure in goring his foes.
*BackToBackBadasses: Ishga Blood-Storm and Skak Blood-Axe, whenever they get involved in a fight.
*BadassBoast: After [[spoiler: conquering the City of Vale]], Pugrish broadcasts a message stating [[spoiler:he will send his armies to finish off the survivors in Patch, then declaring a full-blown WAR against everybody in Remnant.]]
*BadassInDistress: After Yang was kidnapped by Bubol, she spent half of the story being in captivity by Krosh to prepare for the Slave Tournament. Just as her teammates had arrived to the rescue, she is immediately whisked away to Vacuo to be delivered to Hork to be executed for aiding in murdering his youngest brother, Ashgarn..
*BaldOfEvil: Hork, Bubol and Ratlug are bald and definitely evil.
*BatterUp: During the Slave Tournament, Velvet is forced to fight a White Fang captain named Courser who used a metal bat AND baseball as weapons.
*BeardOfEvil: Ogthrak in his disguise has a wild beard that conceals most of his face.
*BeautifulSingingVoice: Banz/Zog is known throughout Vale for his songs, although this is mostly due to his Semblance.
*BecameTheirOwnAntithesis: Uthug went from being a bit of a scavenging DirtyCoward who will flee when there’s danger to the [[TheDreaded fearsome juggernaut]] of the Arceus who carves his way through his foes.
*BerserkButton: Should Skak’s Blood-Axe be denied from gutting his enemies, he would enter a blood-crazed rage mode.
*BewareTheNiceOnes: Krimp lives up to his title by befriending anybody he meets, nevertheless he’s still a walking tank that could brush off attacks without even ''aura'', as well as being stronger than most Uruks.
*BigBad: Pugrish Stormbringer
*BigEater: Ashgarn the All-Eater is known for his insatiable appetite and a knack for cannibalizing his fellow Uruks, he had even claimed to have eaten ''solid stone''.
*BigGood: Professor Ozpin.
*BigGuyLittleGuy: Ishga (Little Guy) and Skak (Big Guy)
*BigNo: Hork lets out one when Yang got rescued from him.
*BlackComedy: The story features a handful of this. An example:
->'''Hork:''' You two exit this quarters immediately lest I have Dharg here scalp the both of you for intrusion.
->'''Uruk Grunt:''' But our master said-
->'''Hork:''' Make me repeat myself, worm, and your eyes will join your scalps
*BlatantLies: A pretty humorous one when Tarz got caught red-handed as a traitor.
->'''Uruk Grunt:''' BOSS! HELP ME!
->'''Skak:''' Boss?
->'''Tarz:''' [[BadLiar I’ve never seen this bloke in my life]]
*BloodierAndGorier: Should be expected considering what we're dealing with here.
*BloodKnight: Most Uruks really enjoy causing and inflicting violence wherever they go
**Bubol grins and cackles maniacally whenever he gets into a fight and relishes butchering his enemies.
**Pugrish is this as well despite being a SoftSpokenSadist, at one point he even broke his own arm just to give [[spoiler: Roman and Neo]] an advantage and to prolong the battle just to thrill himself.
*BodyguardBabes: Melanie and Miltia acts as this to Banz and Rolo.
*BodyguardingABadass: While Ogthrak is a behemoth himself, his master Pugrish is quite literally a monster among monsters.
*BodyHorror:
**Ashgarn after having his [[EyeScream eye torn through]] by Weiss' Myrtenaster. The worst part is he was still ''alive'' despite having been not treated for weeks and was unconscious, eventually it would house maggots that are feasting on it!
**Bubol the Diseased - a vile and perverted Uruk who has disgusting pus-filled boils growing over his face and body, with straps or stitches secured tightly on some of the boils to prevent it from spreading. Despite all that, it never stops him.from moving around and hinder him.
**Mincemeat - Krosh’s female slave. Her arms were amputated and instead was replaced with fingers that wiggle around sporadically. Parts of her flesh are replaced with mismatched skin, appearing more like a HumanoidAbomination than a human. Her means of attack? Chowing down on her opponents with her ''bear-trap mouth''.
*BoringButPractical: The Uruks only ever use simple weaponry such as swords, crossbows, and spears. Subverted with The Storm, in which they use [[MorphWeapon rifles that change into swords]], metal greaves that are similar to Mercury's but with spikes, hell the Shaman himself uses a ''[[ImprobableWeaponUser pogo-stick]]''. The list goes on.
*BrightIsNotGood: The Storm all share a white and blue warpaint on their bodies to signify their allegiance. Pugrish Stormbringer’s eyes glow rather ominously as well.
*BrownNote: [[NothingIsScarier Whatever is written]] on The Shaman’s journal can send [[GoMadFromTheRevelation anybody who reads it into complete insanity]], as demonstrated on poor Tuka.
*BrutalHonesty:
**Krimp, despite his jolly attitude, tells Bebe how she and Uthug are NotSoDifferent, much to the Faunus' chagrin.
**Hork unleashes one to Tugog.
->'''Hork:''' You were always so weak-willed Dreamer, not even your clairvoyance could erase that, this is why your captains walk all over you. Why everyone's just waiting for the Shaman to make a play.
*ButtMonkey: Bebe and Uthug are this, whenever Tuka’s plans horribly backfires, they usually receive the short-end of the stick. Although as of the Arceus, Uthug slowly drifts away from this role.
*CastOfSnowflakes:
*CharacterDevelopment: A few of the Uruks get this, such as Uthug as seen above.
*{{Cloudcuckoolander}}:
**Krimp comes across as this, being a bit childlike and naive as well getting distracted over simple things such as a bird. Although later chapters imply he’s smarter than he lets on.
**Skak always talks to Blood-Axe as if it were a person, much to Ishga’s annoyance. [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane Whether or not the axe is a cursed object or that Skak is just simply delirious is up for debate,]]
*ColdHam: Pugrish is often this, especially at the end of Chapter 20 when he [[spoiler: took over the City of Vale]].
*ComedicSociopathy: Expect plenty of this should you read the story.
*ComicallyMissingThePoint: Krimp is this when Ogthrak threatens Bebe if he finds out that she's trying to gather evidence to rat him out to the police.
->'''Oggie:''' If I catch you snooping around my possessions or setting up equipment or doing anything that might lead me to believe you're trying to get the evidence you so sorely lack... ''I'm gonna break all your limbs and toss you into the basement to starve to death.''
->'''Krimp:''' We have a basement?
*CompanionCube: Skak’s Blood-Axe
*CreepyAwesome: You’ll see a lot of this from Pugrish. Awesome how he [[spoiler: stomped Hork and ''Cinder'' of all people with almost no effort at all]], as well as being able to wield magic. Creepy because of his [[DarkIsEvil ominous]] [[BlackCloak appearance]] and even the way he [[SoftSpokenSadist talks.]]
*CreepyBlueEyes: The Shaman’s eyes glow white and blue.
*CurbStompBattle:
**[[SmugSnake Krosh]] gives one to Yang, resulting in her shoulder being dislocated.
**The Grand Shaman delivers a scary one to [[spoiler: Hork in which he ''severed both of his arm and a leg'' and then obliterated a part of his ''lower jaw''.]]
*DarkerAndEdgier
*DarkestHour: Reaches this by the end. [[spoiler: The Storm has conquered the City of Vale. Coco and Pyrrha are dead, though Qrow's fate is unknown. Hork and Tugog has just lost most, if not, all their loyal followers and are left with no base after Pugrish's betrayal, and the list of people that could stand up against him is dwindling. Not only that, but The Storm are also preparing to finish off everybody in Patch]]. Safe to say things aren't looking quite good for everybody.
*DarkIsEvil: Hork’s army all sport black-colored warpaint on their bodies.
*DeathByAdaptation: [[spoiler: Coco]] dies near the end of the story.
*TheDreaded:
**Pugrish has the reputation of being one of, if not, the most powerful Uruk in the Dark Lord’s Army, and everybody is justifiably afraid of him.
**The Uruks are considered to be the second most dangerous species in Remnant, following close behind to the Creatures of Grimm. Almost everybody in the world fears them because of their large numbers and the threat they pose, and also because nobody knows what their origins are, why they suddenly appeared one day out of the blue, and also why they’re so hostile to the people of Remnant.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:E-N]]
*EliteMooks: The Storm’s soldiers are all skilled and strong enough to take on Huntsmen-in-Training, even managing to ''kill'' a few of them in Chapter 20.
*EstablishingCharacterMoment:
**In Chapter 1, the first we read of Tugog is him mumbling words of encouragement to himself despite being anxious at the thought of his ritual failing.
**Uthug getting into a heated argument with an Uruk after getting accused of being a “fake” during a gathering with Ashgarn. The glutton gets pretty pissed, and Uthug immediately blames his opponent that the latter was the one who started it.
*EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Hork really did loved his brother Ashgarn despite deeming him a failure, as seen when he reacts strongly to the latter's demise. Although Hork doesn’t care much for his brother Krimp, Krimp very much loves him.
*EvilVsEvil:
**The Uruks and the White Fang
**Also with Pugrish and [[spoiler: Cinder]]
*EyeScream: Ashgarn gets his eye stabbed out by Weiss.
*FacialHorror: Krimp gets half of his face blown off after getting hit by Ratlug's battle-Vehicle during the train battle with Team RWBY, though somehow his face was able to heal itself without leaving any scars.
*FailedASpotCheck: When Team RWB were travelling to Vacuo, failing to notice a little scorpion that had been following them. Turns out it was actually Gundza who possessed the scorpion, and immediately ambushed the Huntresses-in-Training once they arrived near Hork’s Tower.
*FantasticRacism: Bebe is this to both Humans and Uruks, although not quite the same as her fellow White Fang members.
*{{Foil}}: Uthug and Gundza. Uthug isn't really that skilled and mostly relies on strength to get around, while also being pretty reckless when it comes to fights. Gundza, on the other hand, is more intelligent and skilled, as well as being a tactical planner.
*FromNobodyToNightmare: Uthug is this as seen above.
*GoMadFromTheRevelation: Tuka after reading Pugrish’s journal.
*GreaterScopeVillain: Due to being partially responsible for the existence of the Uruk-Hai, Sauron is this, despite never appearing in the story.
*HumanoidAbomination: The Uruk-Hai are a different breed of orcs, only bigger, stronger, and more violent than them.
*ICallItVera: Pugrish’s pogo-stick is named “Drumenvok”, while Skak’s Blood-Axe is… well, Blood-Axe.
*ICantBelieveImSayingThis: Uthug agrees with Bebe that bringing Ashgarn’s corpse to Hork has essentially doomed the three of them.
*ImAHumanitarian: Well, Urukitarian in Ashgarn’s case.
*INeedAFreakingDrink: After getting dragged along by Tuka with his [[SarcasmMode brilliant and wonderful plans]], Uthug decides to go and get a drink.
*InvincibleVillain: The Grand Shaman is this.
*ItsAllMyFault: Hork thinks this after failing to kill Team RWBY and having most of his base/forces destroyed.
*{{Jerkass}}: Dove Bronzewing is this.
*JustFriends: Coco politely turns down Velvet’s feelings for her.
*KarmicDeath: Tarz and Tuka
*LargeHam: Banz gets pretty hammy before singing.
*LaughablyEvil: Uruks, such as Ratlug and Bubol, can have pretty amusing moments.
*LightningBruiser: Should be expected from the characters in RWBY, with Uruks such as Ratlug, Krimp, and Pugrish being this.
*LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: And hoo boy, there are quite a handful of them.
*MadDoctor: Ratlug and Tarz, the former is an [[TheEngineer engineer]] that loves to make all sorts of crazy contraptions (like turning an entire room into a giant music box} while the latter is [[TheMedic the only competent Uruk medic]] but has a knack of cutting things up.
*MalevolentMaskedMan: Pugrish dons the ‘Mask of Memories’, which is crafted from ''the faces of his fallen foes''.
*MeaningfulName: “Pug-Bringer Studios”, the music studio Ogthrak/Bigsby runs, is short for [[GeniusBonus “Pugrish Stormbringer”.]]
*MoodWhiplash: The chapters would always shift to different [[PointOfView POVs]], one minute it's calm and nothing much is happening, the next there is an intense battle that's going on.
*NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Pugrish doesn’t have the title “Stormbringer” for no reason.
*NighInvulnerability: The Shaman’s naturally tough and resilient body combined with his large Aura made him practically immune to most of [[spoiler: Cinder]]’s attacks.
*NoSell: Krimp essentially tanks through most of Team RWBY’s attacks like nothing during their fight.
*NotQuiteDead: Ashgarn was this for a while. After he’s presumably killed by Weiss, Tuka and the gang drag him to Hork’s Tower while unconscious. He wakes up, livid after realizing their ploy and assaults the crew. He gets crushed by falling rubble and once again only placed him unconscious. He was then KilledOffForReal after Tuka stabs him through the exact spot his eye was punctured.
