This or these examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected, or something is just an innate aspect of the setting or character that has a logical reason for being present); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome:
** As much as people want to, they can't just stick the Colonization fleet back in their ships and send them back to Home. Like any piece of technology, they have to do maintenance work on something that's been running nonstop for fifteen years, not to mention refill the fuel tanks.
** When members of the Colonization fleet come down, they're warned that though 99 percent of all humans are nice enough, there are still ones who hold a grudge for the actions of the Conquest fleet (and Straha's Madness) years ago.
** One of the few pieces of "Good" news that Atvar is able to share with the Colonization fleet is that the Fithp are nearly dead and not a threat to The Race. After all the other shocks that they've suffered, hearing that a species is dead and thus not a threat, while horrible, is good news to the already traumatized lizards.
** In the main series, the Colonization fleet had basically the pick of the planet, as they ruled almost all of it (save for the most powerful nations and their allies). Here, all of the Earth except a few Free Race zones are owned by the humans. There is literally no room for the hundred million colonists.

Not So Different has been renamed, and it needs to be dewicked/moved

* NotSoDifferent: one of the letters to a prospective guest from the Colonization Fleet from a Male living on the planet isn't too different from that of a person putting a room up for rent in our society. Things like what movies he likes, that he likes his apartment clean and tidy, and no drug use are all mentioned.

** Don't say that Straha was right, or sympathize with him. The "Fucklord" as some call him, is one of the most hated beings in history for a ''reason.''

* AdaptationalBadass: Earth, once again. Recall that by the time the Colonization fleet arrived in canon, Earth had zero working starships, but here, not only do they have colonies on the moon and Mars, the Colonization fleet is greeted by ''fifteen'' starships.

Mentions in the previous story were made that Earth has over a hundred and fifty defending the system.

* BerserkButton: Humans have a few.
** Don't say that Straha was right, or sympathize with him. The "Fucklord" as some call him, is one of the most hated beings in history for a ''reason.''
** Don't say that the Race was justified for the Conquest fleet. It doesn't end well.
** Don't call humans "Tosevites," though this is less of one and more of a politeness thing.
* OhCrap: The fleetlord of the Colonization fleet doesn't believe that the Tosevites have made their own ships until they literally start flying around in the faces of the fleet. He passes out.
** It's mentioned that the psychologists of the Colonization Fleet are working on this, as ''everyone'' in the fleet is experiencing this at the moment.

* ThereAreNoTherapists: Averted but played with. There are Therapists among the Race in the Colonization fleet. The problem is that, even though they stopped unthawing every single person, the few therapists they have have to basically take care of every single person on the MassOhCrap that the fleet is suffering on finding out the situation on Tosev 3. Which unfortunately a) is too much work for ''anyone'' and b) even the therapists are suffering from that as well, so they're not operating perfectly either.

Twenty years have now passed since the War for Earth ended in a decisive human victory, and an uneasy peace between humanity, the newly-formed Fithp Nation, and the remnants of the Race Conquest Fleet has led to prosperity on the planet.

Now, however, the final test is coming. The Colonization Fleet, carrying a hundred million Race colonists, arrives at long last, while the Emperor's reaction to the defeat, as well as the results of humanity's diplomatic envoy to Home, remain unknown.

Earth won the war, but can it win the peace?
