As with the fanfic it's covering, it's a crossover between ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' and ''Franchise/SuperSentai''.

** In Chapter 8, one of Rika's enemies is a huge mecha that's described as "a fox and a {{Franchise/Metal Gear}} fused together", and its roar is based on the mechanical roar the animatronics make in ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2''.

** As noted by the blogger, Chapter 10 contains several nods to the ''Devil May Cry'' franchise. Aside from the fact that Tim himself is named after two actors known for voicing Dante (see Original Generation above), he's dragged into a shifting landscape known as Limbo, and his weapons share the same name as Dante's. The title "Tim Langdon Must Die!" is based on the "Dante Must Die", "Vergil Must Die", and as of ''[=DmC=] Definitive Edition'', "Gods Must Die" difficulty modes' names. Finally, War is revealed to be reboot!Dante.

** Sean's new outfit takes cues from Captain Marvelous, [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Litchi Faye-Ling]], and Akuma Homura. Specifically, the long jacket, his bare chest wrapped in black bandages, and energy wings shaped like the third character's wings. He also has a red cybernetic arm "not unlike that of [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolidVThePhantomPain Venom Snake's]]".

* WholePlotReference: ''IV'', moreso than any other installment, takes cues from ''Puella Magi Madoka Magica'' and its sequel movie ''Rebellion'', and it even gets lampshaded in a few chapters. Both stories feature monsters that used to be human, driven into despair, and a seemingly normal protagonist getting protected by a mysterious figure. [[spoiler:That said, said mysterious figure wants to help the protagonist into becoming a hero instead of stopping her from completing the contract, and the normal protagonist here was already a deity before the accident that changed her.]]

* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Instead of Rika being the main character, Arika, a new character based on her, is the focus of the story. It's also worth noting that, in Part 1, none of the characters from ''I'' to ''III'' have shown up; instead, the new allies include Dr. Edward Payne, Professor Hannah Harrison, the Replacement Rangers, and Keith Kleinberg, [[spoiler:the latter only by proxy, however. This time, the story doesn't revolve around Rika and her friends, but focuses on a new character, college student Arika, covering the story. During it, she faces off against a new group of Rangers taking the place of the originals, new allies, and more threats looming, along with her receiving mysterious visions.

During a writer's block, a story set a year after the events of ''IV'', ''Fanfic/PowerRangersClockwork'', was released in late 2018.

* AdaptationNameChange: Lahar, Lamashtu[[spoiler:/Shadow]], and the Amalgam are all renamed Asgaut, Brynja, and Aricin Velothi in the story.
* AdultFear: The backstory focuses on the very fear of a family member getting harmed by their own parents for a specific reason. Aricin Velothi grew sicker and had hallucinations, the effects of poison. It's also implied that Brynja, Aricin's own mother, was the one who poisoned him, and she refused to have her husband, Asgaut, see him. Meaning that Asgaut was powerless to save his son, and when his body was gone, he simply believed his son escaped when he did not, trying to hold onto hope. And the reason why Aricin was poisoned? To obtain immortality.
* ApocalypticLog: Chapter 2 focuses on Asgaut's journals, detailing his life from when Velothi Castle was constructed to a strange death and subsequent revival of a worker. They also revealed some disturbing fates later on. A few years after the incident with the revived worker, Aricin was struck with a piece of metal, and over the course of several months, he succumbed to poison. Asgaut later faced the same fate, only it took years for him to die, and was suited into strange armor in order for him to reach immortality. And Brynja, who had slowly descended into madness thanks to the whispers of Delarium, may have had a hand in those actions.
