%%** ** Natasha as well, as detailed in the ScriptFic for her solo movie.movie through flashbacks. She never knew her family and was brutally trained by the Red Room at a young age. By her teens, she was made to train in ballet dancing for hours to the point that her pointe shoes were soaked with blood, upon threat of death. Any girl who collapsed from exhaustion or blood loss was taken away and killed. She was conditioned to believe she was a member of the Borshoi Ballet Troupe until her sleeper agent protocol was triggered. For the first part of her final exam, she had to take a written portion and, if she failed to finish on time, she would be killed. And for the second part, she had to fight her classmate and friend Yelena, and when she won, she was forced to kill her. Natasha's time in the Red Room was truly horrific and the scars it inflicted on her clearly still linger to this day.

My brother and I were trapped in the rubble for three days, staring at the Stark Industries logo. Staring at the machine, the name of the man that had killed our only family. We were refugees, children that no one wanted. Who would take in a filthy Roma? Roma just steal, Roma just lie, never trust a Roma, everyone knows that. We were beaten and kicked out of foster homes. Not even our own people would take us in. They cast my mother out for marrying an outsider. We had no one. We grew up on the streets! We had no one to care for us, no one to love us.
