* AdaptationalBadass: So far Tuxedo Mask is shaping up to be a far cry from his anime self. He doesn't appear in the high window of OSA-P, but more like he's found rummaging through their jewelery cases and then breaks ''through'' a window where he begins dueling with a man wielding two lances.

** The Silver Guard and Protectors play this part as well, before receiving an official introduction to the former, the Guard is only mentioned and seen as a fleet of black cars that come to clean up Warrior Moon's messes.
* AnimateDead: The second kind of enemy in the story are enemies revived from the dead. Exta also can do this. See Necromancer.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Experiment-D-U-D's red lance, Gae Dearg, flies through a barrier Jadeite erects.

* AnAxeToGrind: Sweet, timid, diminutive Losna swings her axe like a pro.

* TheChainOfHarm: Inverted, in the first chapter, during Jadeite and Tuxedo Mask's encounter on the roof, when Jadeite chides Mask for interfering with the hunt for the [[spoiler: Silver Crystal]] he makes a nearby helicopter to explode.
* ChekhovsGun: Usagi and Naru find a small gem on the ground after their friend leaves, Usagi tells Naru to keep it and later that gem releases a reborn hero known as Experiment-D-U-D into Naru's home. [[spoiler: After an unseen altercation he then proceeds to rape Naru.]]

* DamselInDistress: Naru right off the bat, Usagi occasionally.

* DramaticWind: Played almost a little too straight in chapter four. After Usagi has made it clear to Luna she refused to become a Warrior Luna explains how the Dark Kingdom will drop her into hell by killing her family and friends before finally killing her. Just before Luna finishes a gust of wind picks up.
* DualWielding: Experiment-D-U-D uses two lances and also possesses two swords, which he and his clones use simultaneously. Warrior Venus occasionally, when she attaches her disc halves to her wrists it gives her two bladed weapons.

* EarlyBirdCameo: The author said the characters would be coming in out of order, and they weren't kidding. We met Ami, Makoto, Artemis, Minako, Rei and her grandpa, Haruka, Michiru, and Souichi Tomoe all ahead of schedule.

* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: Experiments seem to be able to fight well, even when they're dying. As long as they can ignore pieces of their body falling off. Beryl slices Experiment-D-U-D up after letting the Warriors get away and Megumi rips apart her victims, draining their blood and eating their flesh.
** Megumi also apparently kidnaps children (little boys), presumably tortures them before she kills them and eventually leaves their bodies to hang in her torture room.

* FetalPositionRebirth: Chapter seven, Jadeite comes across Experiment D-U-D like this in a tank. Could also be NakedonRevival.

* GodivaHair: Megumi in chapter eight.

* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: Warrior Moon bifurcates Eros with Moon Blade Slash.
* HeartDrive: After being punctured with darts, going head to head with Tuxedo Mask and having his spine stabbed by Warrior Moon, Experiment-D-U-D appears soon after completely healed. However, when his life gem is crushed, Experiment-D-U-D crumbles away into black dust.

* InfoDump: Part of the history we were expecting came in chapter 3, but the brunt of it, along with information regarding Usagi's transformation and weapon came in a flash back in chapter 5.
** After dropping hints and giving the readers tidbits about the Silver Guard, and briefly the Protectors, chapter nine delivers the explanation we were expecting. Mani reveals the Protectors are only a small part of the Guard and makes references to other Divisions, so we can expect more chapters like it.

* KidnappedScientist: More like scientists. Luna explains that there were a string of kidnappings years ago that can be connected to the Dark Kingdom. They're to blame for Experiments.

* TheLittleShopThatWasntThereYesterday: Stack Attack is a kind of example of this, although it wasn't mentioned as just appearing, it was described as being a new building. The House of Fortune as well. Pet Shop Perfume wasn't mentioned as being new, it could be assumed it wasn't there before the Dark Kingdom's plan for it began.

* MysteriousNote: Minako received a note in her locker from someone claiming to her identity as Sailor V.

* NothingIsScarier: The story seems to do this well, when Usagi finds Experiment-D-U-D, that whole mysterious man, with a strange presence, choking your friend in the hall, illuminated by blocks of moonlight scene accomplishes this.

* PowerGlows: Warrior Moon's Moon Blade Slash, in order to use the attack she forces energy into her lance which then glows white.

* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: [[spoiler:After the attack on Naru in chapter two, Usagi is left in the dark about what really happens until chapter four when her rape is revealed.]]
* TheReveal: The revelation of [[spoiler: Naru's rape]] in chapter 4.
** Usagi revealing herself as Warrior Moon to Naru in chapter 10. We also finally get Experiment-D-U-D's reason behind attacking Naru.

* ShoutOut: There are many lines that seem to be taken directly from the anime, and woven flawlessly into the story.

* TortureCellar: Luna stumbles upon what looks like a meeting room, but after examining it finds it to be the Youma's torture room. Equipped with a vest capable of ripping someone's chest open, numerous hooks, chains, and a Judas cradle. Not quite a cellar, but torture definitely happens there.

* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Artemis and Luna are capable is changing in and out of their feline forms at will.

Cosmic Warriors follows Usagi Tsukino, a clumsy, irresponsible, and ditzy 14 year old whose life changes when she receives a distressed phone call from her friend, Naru Osaka. Usagi rushes to her aid and while attempting to save her friend Usagi is aided by Luna, the strange black cat that's been following her, and transforms into the Cosmic Warrior Moon.

Cosmic Warriors follows Usagi Tsukino, a clumsy, irresponsible, and ditzy 14 year old whose life changes when she receives a distressed phone call from her friend, Naru Osaka, claiming a man has broken in her home. Usagi rushes to her aid and comes across a robbery in progress followed by the man Naru mentioned. While attempting to save her friend Usagi is aided by Luna, the strange black cat that's been following her, and transforms into the Cosmic Warrior, Warrior Moon. With further help from a masked thief, manages to save her friend. She is then told about her past and her duty to save the planet before a darkness like the world has never known takes over, thus putting an end to life as they know it.

In the opening note for the story, the author expresses the changes that have been made to the story, citing artistic license as the reason for changing: the flow of plot, the villains, transformations, attacks, as well as the order in which the character we've come to know and love will be introduced.

** Chapter 12 gave us our first glimpse at the Protectors in action and it didn't disappoint. They certainly live up their hype.

* BreatherEpisode: A few chapters, 4, 6, and 9 so far.
** But even these chapters are attention keeping. [[spoiler: Naru's rape]] keeps us in 4. Jadeite's malice in 6 and the long-awaited explanation of the Guard in 9.
* CallingYourAttacks: Warrior Moon needs to call out Moon Blade Slash for it to happen. Warrior Venus as well.
* TheCavalryArrivesLate: In chapter two, although Naru calls the police before calling Usagi they don't arrive until after Usagi fights with the man attacking Naru.
* TheChainOfHarm: Inverted, in the first chapter, during Jadeite and Tuxedo Mask's encounter on the roof, when Jadeite chides Mask for interfering with the hunt for the [[spoiler: Silver Crystal]] he causes a nearby helicopter to explode.

* CoolMask: Tuxedo Mask of course! However, Warrior Moon and the rest of the Warriors also gets masks that covers their entire face, reminiscent of a Vizard mask.

* DaylightHorror: Furfur and Megumi had no qualms about eating their co-workers or running wild through the streets, blowing up cars, during the daylight hours.

However the author does it in a subtle way, by making the villains almost human. Although Diarmuid doesn't look like a regular person, he isn't recognizable as a monster, he walks around in public schools doesn't he? The true darkness in Cosmic Warriors lies in the fact that the evil in the world could be sitting beside you in class, or passing you on the street.

** In the author notes it's mentioned that chapter four was step one on making this a darker story. By making a main/supporting character a victim of sexual assault it plunges the story into a new kind of depth and catapults Usagi out of her skepticism for becoming a warrior and into vowing to protect her friends and everyone in the process.

The author kicks off the series of changes with a new breed of monsters called Experiments, former heroes of mythology who've been reincarnated to work for the Dark Kingdom. Coupled with that, rather than have our heroine fighting with a tiara in a one-piece, a skirt, and heels, Usagi transforms into a lance wielding warrior in a Zero Suit Samus inspired {{LatexSpaceSuit}}. Luna and Artemis also seem to have bigger roles in this story, as of the latest chapter we've seen Luna as a cat and Artemis transform from human to cat, it's safe to assume soon we'll see a human Luna as well. The two felines are also a part of a secret organization made up of previous guardians from the Moon Kingdom, called the Silver Guard.
