* AirborneAircraftCarrier: Team Strike's Carrier is a large airship that takes to the skies upon entering it.
* AssimilationPlot: Team Aurora's plans involve merging all worlds into one while also flooding it.
* BadassBiker: Team Havoc's motif happens to be that of leather-clad bikers, although they're not actually shown riding bikes.
* BigBadDuumvirate: Each fusion villain team is headed by two leaders working together.
* BigBadEnsemble: There are eight different fusion teams, each one being led by two leaders, encountered in each of the two games.
* BigBrotherIsWatchingYou: Team Eternal's motif is meant to be an Orwellian nightmare straight out of Literature/NineteenEightyFour, with Grunts dressed in dull jumpsuits, security cameras all over, TV's depicting Giovanni, and an all-around oppressive atmosphere.
* CreatingLifeIsBad: Team Void plans on destroying all life in existence in order to create new life that embodies darkness, torment, and despair.
* DarkIsEvil: Both Team Death and Team Void are very sinister looking and use Dark-type and Ghost-type Pokémon.
* DespotismJustifiesTheMeans:
** Team Burst's goals being spearheaded by Giovanni are of this purpose. This is also his actual intent when it comes to Team Eternal's goals.
** This happens to be Ghetsis' true motives when it comes to Team Strike and Team Photon's goals.
* DualBoss: Half the admin battles and all the leader battles involve battling two at once, although the latter has someone battle alongside you.
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Both Team Death and Team Void, through Kuroi's machinations, seek to create a world of chaos and despair, either by erasing every other world or by creating new life embodying such aspects.
* EvilIsBurningHot: Both Team Solar and Team Scorch are this with their use of Fire-type Pokémon. Team Death is also this as they seek Anchetis.
* EvilIsDeathlyCold: Both Team Death and Team Aurora are this with their use of Ice-type Pokémon, as well as Team Aurora seeking out Borealis.
* FinalSolution: Several examples amongst the fusion teams:
** Team Solar and Team Photon are out to wipe out human-kind to return the world to nature and Pokémon.
** Team Storm and Team Quasar are out to wipe out Pokémon-kind in favor of a world of humanity and technology.
** Team Strike and Team Scorch seek to wipe out all life beside themselves in order to RestartTheWorld.
** Team Genesis are out to wipe out all life in existence in order to replace it with Ultra Beasts.
** Team Void are out to wipe out all life in existence so that they can replace it with a new race embodying chaos and despair.
* TheGreatFlood: Both Team Storm and Team Aurora plan on flooding the world and eliminating all land.
* HauntedCastle: Team Death's Castle happens to be this with its darkened rooms and Grunts that use Ghost-type Pokémon.
* InTheirOwnImage:
** For Team Cosmic, Dralene and Cyrus seek to remake the universe as one without weather or emotion.
** For Team Portal, Cyrus and Lusamine seek to remake the universe as one of Ultra Beasts.
* ItsAllUpstairsFromHere: Team Aurora's Tower is a tall tower shooting up into the sky.
* LeftHanging: Since you don't get to see much of each fusion villain team individually and none of their plans are thwarted by the time you defeat them, what becomes of each fusion team is unknown, although it's possible they could be revisited in a later story.
* LightIsNotGood: Despite the light motif of both Team Solar and Team Photon and use of Light-type Pokémon, neither group is good, especially since the latter is run by one of the most evil villains in the whole franchise.
* ManipulativeBastard:
** As expected, for Team Strike and Team Photon, Ghetsis is only using either Lysandre or Farlie for his own ends and plans on dominating the new world they create himself.
** For Team Eternal, Giovanni is only pretending to be helping Chairman Rose out with preventing an eventual energy crisis with the intent of using the limitless energy they'll bring forth to control the world himself.
* MildlyMilitary: Team Strike has a military motif to it, its Grunts resembling soldiers.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: The name Team Death sounds pretty ominous, right?
* NotEvilJustMisunderstood: Team Havoc isn't actually evil, just angry at the world for being wronged.
* OmnicidalManiac: Several fusion teams are this:
** Team Cosmic plans to destroy the world to create a new one without emotion or weather.
** Team Strike plans to wipe out people besides them and all Pokémon. Unbeknownst to Lysandre, Ghetsis plans on controlling what's left of the world.
** Team Genesis plans to erase all life in favor of replacing it with Ultra Beasts.
** Team Death plans to erase every other world and turn the remaining one into one of darkness, chaos, and despair.
** Team Scorch plans to destroy all sea, all Pokémon, and all people besides themselves.
** Team Quasar plans to erase all weather and Pokémon and reset the world to be one of technology.

* ShoutOut: Team Portal is meant to be one of the game sharing its name with its puzzle rooms involving teleportation and even what look like companion cubes.
* TakeOverTheWorld: Unbeknownst to their partners in their fusion teams, this is what Ghetsis and Giovanni plan on doing.
* TrappedInVillainy: When it comes to Team Portal, Wicke is actually being forced to help carry out their plans and try and stop you.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Most fusion teams, the exceptions being Team Death, Team Burst, Team Void, and Team Havoc, have this intent.
* VampireVannabe: Team Death has a vampire motif to it that looks straight out of Franchise/Castlevania.

A Delta Species of Morelull that has appeared in Azuchaen, Delta Morelull is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokémon that has a trio of small tracking dishes above its head that measures the frequency of electromagnetic waves, eventually becoming Delta Shiinotic, who bears a satellite dish on its head that can track objects going through the sky and in orbit. Delta Shiinotic goes on to become a new Pokémon called Satelloom, a Steel/Psychic-type satellite that hovers in the air and discharges various kinds of waves. Satelloom has a Gigantamax form when it becomes a space station with the ability to launch itself into space.
