* ''Series/RedDwarf'': "[[Recap/RedDwarfSeasonVQuarantine Quarantine]]" parodies shows that rely heavily on this trope. The discovery of a scientific laboratory reveals that luck is just a virus with both "bad luck" and "good luck" strains. When Rimmer driven homicidal by a nasty holo-virus, Lister injects himself with the good luck virus so that he can conveniently stumble across everything he needs to defeat and cure Rimmer.

* ''Series/RobynHood2023'': Robyn's alibi for her first break-in of John Prince's penthouse (that she was crying in the park) works because another black woman of roughly the same age and build was doing exactly that at the right time and happened to get caught on camera. The unlikelihood of this isn't even commented on.

* ''Series/MidsomerMurders'': A particularly egregious example takes place in "[[Recap/MidsomerMurdersS14E7 A Sacred Trust]]", as the murderer participates in the massacre of a village in an unnamed African country, makes a fortune and over 33 years later settles in one of the Midsomer villages with his wife and son... a village that just so happens to include a convent where the prioress is the sole witness to his crime. And the kicker? He still would've gotten away with it if his IdenticalSon hadn't snuck into the convent with a girl to have sex and run into the prioress.

* ''Series/{{Intimate}}'' is a CringeComedy in the tradition of ''Series/CurbYourEnthusiasm'', so as in that show, incredibly unlikely things keep happening for the sake of maximum awkwardness:
** After having a one-night stand with Jonas, Leo leaves as he has to help his boyfriend Florian move. In a particularly uncomfortable example of IntroductionByHookup, Florian's new roommate turns out to be Jonas.
** Actors Bruno and Oskar have told everyone on set of their show, including their angry co-star Roland Møller, that Oskar's twin brother Emil has died to explain why they keep screwing up their takes. Later that day, the boys decide to take a dive from a bridge into the Alster (a river flowing through Hamburg) just when Møller happens to canoe there, seeing both twins very much alive.
** Bruno decides to pursue a woman he meets completely by chance, and far from his workplace. She turns out to be his boss's wife.

** The [=DS9=] episode "[[Recap/StarTrekDeepSpaceNineS03E22Explorers Explorers]]" features an In-Universe example. Bajoran legend is that ancient Bajorans used a light ship (a ship with sails that are pushed by light pressure from a sun) to reach Cardassia, setting up the FirstContact between their species, something the Cardassians have always dismissed. Sisko and his son rebuilt a light ship, and upon using it learn it could actually jump to warp when it carries them all the way to Cardassia. Gul Dukat informs them that his arrival happens to have occurred [[BlatantLies just as Cardassian archeologists discovered evidence of an ancient Bajoran craft that crashed on Cardassia Prime]]. Sisko is rather amused by how implausible this is, and Dukat himself can barely keep a straight face.

* In ''{{Series/NCIS}}'' Season 10's "You Better Watch Out", two robbers decided to hit a place without much security in the Washington DC area on May 2, 2011. [[spoiler:This is the night the Navy SEALs took out Osama bin Laden. As a result, Homeland would have increased satellite surveillance on the capital in case of retaliation. As a result, the robbers were caught on that tape.]]

* ''Series/{{Physical}}'': Just before they leave San Diego Tyler begs Bunny to go to the beach one last time, and she lets him. As Tyler says his goodbyes, he notices that someone is drowning -- and it's none other than Danny. That this is a coincidence of the highest order is lampshaded multiple times, and it allows Tyler to spill a secret of Sheila's ([[spoiler:her affair with John Breem]]) that she had thus far successfully been keeping from Danny.

** In "[[Recap/BreakingBadS3E2CaballoSinNombre Caballo Sin Nombre]]" (third season, second episode), Walter decides to move back home against Skyler's wishes. He happens to be breaking in through the crawlspace at the same time Mike is bugging Walter's house. Mike slips away to his car unnoticed and while he's checking reception on his bugs he sees the Salamanca cousins show up, carrying their trademark chrome-plated axe, making their intentions clear. Walter has decided to take a shower after his crawlspace entrance, so the cousins sit on the bed to wait for him to come out. Mike calls Victor, Victor presumably talks to Gus, and Gus texts "POLLOS" to the cousins. They leave the house before Walt exits the shower, and Walter gets to live.

** One major contrived coincidence which does not lead to a solution of a case occurs in "[[Recap.MonkS6E13MrMonkAndTheThreeJulies Mr. Monk and the Three Julies]]". In this episode, after two individuals named Julie Teeger are murdered, a computerized search is done for any other people with this name, in the United States, starting with the west coast and continuing eastward. After going as far as Colorado, there is only one other result; all three people named Julie Teeger had lived in San Francisco.

* ''Series/TheCrowdedRoom'': It turns out that Ariana's rapist was Danny's stepdad Marlin. Rya points out that a pretty big coincidence to accept, and he agrees. Rya then suggests this was a setup, and Yitzahk manipulated him with Ariana's help. This is because Ariana's an alternative personality of Danny's, and Marlin had molested him.

* ''Series/Numb3rs'':
** In "Vector", the FBI is called in by the CDC to help investigate a viral outbreak (given the possibility that it may have been an act of bioterrorism). Don wants to bring Charlie, but the CDC insists on using their own mathematical consultant who has the proper clearance. Naturally, the CDC consultant turns out to be Charlie.
** The case in "One Hour" is this to some extent. The team gets a case while Don's at therapy session with his phone off, and it ''just happens'' to be one with an incredibly short deadline, so much so that the case is fully resolved and wrapped up by the time Don shows up, when many FBI cases require days if not weeks of investigation.
** In "Charlie Don't Surf", a family friend of the Eppes asks Don to look into his surfer son's death, ruled an accident. Don looks over the Park Ranger investigation into said accident at his desk and thinks the investigation was pretty thorough as Colby walks by and recognizes Don's surfer friend. It is Colby, an Idaho farmboy, who realizes the death was murder because he just happens to be a hardcore surfing fan and notices a detail the park rangers missed.

** In "Murder at a Discount", Jessica gets involved because the VictimOfTheWeek thinks her latest book is based on his wife's unsolved murder. Jessica insists she hasn't heard of the case, but when she looks into it, she has to admit the similarities are striking. [[spoiler: The coincidence is so great that he works out who ''really'' killed his wife just by reading the book!]]
