* AreWeGettingThis: In Vol. 2, issue #54, Cybertronian reporter Circuit asks his cameraman Longtooth if he's catching footage of [[spoiler:Optimus Prime summoning Metrotitan from the Earth's ground.]]
-->'''Circuit:''' Longtooth, old buddy...tell me you got that on camera.

* OffModel: In issue 19, the artist apparently doesn't know what Hardhead looks like. And it continues through into ''ComicBook/TheTransformersDarkCybertron''.

* NotGoodWithPeople: Arcee. The experiments performed on her by Jhiaxus, which included getting her sex changed against her will ''while she was [[AndIMustScream conscious]]'', have left her mentally unstable and having difficulty understanding how other people emote (she doesn't understand why Bumblebee is freaked out by her scrawling an Autobot symbol onto her shoulder with a sword for one thing).

removing defunct Five Man Band tree

* FiveManBand: Nova Prime as TheLeader, The great military commander Galvatron as TheLancer, renowned scientist Jhiaxus as TheSmartGuy, Cyclonus the warrior was TheBigGuy, and Dai Atlas was the SixthRangerTraitor as he doesn't pull a FaceHeelTurn like the others. Scourge may have functioned as TheChick.

An Axe To Grind is no longer a trope

* AnAxeToGrind: Apeface and Dreadwing manifest energon axes. Galvatron used to have one himself, which he used to kill Nexus Prime.

Loads And Loads Of Characters is no longer a trope

* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: The book always had a big cast, but the number of characters expands dramatically when the Autobots return to Earth and Cybertron makes contact with the colony worlds.

cut trope

* MoralDissonance: The Autobots don't have a problem with basically enslaving the Decepticons with ID chips and suppressing the Nails, despite having just fought a four-million year war to keep the Decepticons from doing things like that. Starscream actually calls Wheeljack out on this in issue 3, pointing out that the Autobots seem to have some pretty skewed priorities (for example, taking the time to put ID chips in any and all Decepticons but not bothering with actual public safety issues such as housing to keep people safe).

* SomethingCompletelyDifferent: Issue 33 takes us back to Cybertron [[spoiler:and Wheeljack waking from his [[YourHeadAsplode traumatic head injury]]]] after several issues of Optimus Prime and his team on Earth.

As-of issue 35, it dropped the 'Robots in Disguise' subtitle and became just 'The Transformers',[[note]]Volume 2, where Transformers Ongoing was volume 1[[/note]] which made things... confusing in the short term (but as [[WesternAnimation/TransformersRobotsInDisguise the new show entitled ''Robots In Disguise'']] [[http://www.tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Robots_in_Disguise_(2015_comic) had its own comic tie-in]], will probably be helpful in the long-term). From March 2015 to May 2015 The Transformers was part of a 6 issue crossover with ''ComicBook/TheTransformersWindblade'' (which also launched the latter title as an ongoing) titled ''ComicBook/TheTransformersCombinerWars''. Tropes occurring in the crossover belong on that page.

Has nothing to do with familiarity with in-universe fiction.

* GenreSavvy: Optimus Prime, when informed by Hardhead of Hot Rod's supposed death.
-->'''Hardhead:''' Rodimus and a couple hundred Autobots went to chase down the Knights of Cybertron...but their ship exploded. They're...they're dead.
-->'''Optimus:''' I doubt that. I've known Rodimus a long time. He faced death and found life. I'm sure he's fine.
