* InformedAbility: Was the one that wiped out the dinosaurs and claims to be Deboss' greatest creation...but he just so happens to be the first MonsterOfTheWeek, and thus gets destroyed easily.
** This one later proves to be a subversion, because episode #17 reveals two things: First, he was more powerful because Deboss was awake back then. Second, he wasn't the only one who wiped out the dinosaurs. He, Debo Viruson (Virus), and Debo Nagareboshi (Meteor) were a PowerTrio, which was first mentioned in #17 and confirmed in #21. In other words, when he was defeated in the first episode, it was a severe case of TheWorfEffect due to WorfHadTheFlu. To put the first part in perspective, when Deboss showed signs of coming close to awakening, it took a great deal of effort for the Kyoryugers to kill the {{Mooks}}.

* BadassGrandpa: On the same level as Torin.

* {{Expy}}: Of [[Franchise/CthulhuMythos Cthulhu]]. They're both tentacled cosmic entities sleeping beneath the sea and waiting to awaken and wipe up all life on Earth. [[spoiler:And like Cthulhu, Deboss is just a servant for an entity far greater than himself.]]

* ShoutOut: His fight against Nossan is a parody of Kirito and Sugou's fight from ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'', with a female character voiced by Creator/HarukaTomatsu as a witness and a villain pulling a BigDamnHeroes moment on a hero. In this case, both the witness ''and'' the villain are the same person.

* CameBackWrong: Is revived in the same condition that he used to wipe out the dinosaurs. Unfortunately for the Deboss, it's wrong [[BadBoss for things on their part]]. Due in part to his heart not fully thawing from a small lack of Joy and Rage.

* DoubleMeaning[=/=]PunnyName: Chaos's final form is called "''Chouzetsushin''", which would normally mean "Transcendant God", except that the ''Chou'' kanji is the one for "Butterfly" (蝶) rather than "Super" (超). Overtime chose to render this in English as "Lepidominant Lord", while Wiki/ThatOtherWiki uses the more on-the-nose "Transcendenterfly God".
** Additionally, since the "''Zetsu''" means to sever or cut off, Chaos's title can almost literally be translated as "ButterflyOfDeathAndRebirth".

** He noticeably stays in charge after Deboss awakens, giving him commands due to his bosses lack of intelligence.
