* JerkassHasAPoint: He's not a jerk so much as he is deceitful and negligent, but all the same he makes a good point that while he and Shauna had a pretty shameful start to their relationship, they were only teenagers so of course they didn't have the best judgment.

* PetTheDog: For the most part, Jeff acts like a pretty disinterested husband and father. However, he does sincerely and passionately defend Shauna to Jackie's resentful parents.

* ItsAllAboutMe: She constantly makes the crash about herself despite not being on the flight. It’s implied she’s been doing this for decades.

* AmateurSleuth: He is introduced in "Friends, Romans, Countrymen" in a voice-only appearance when Misty checks a website for amateur detectives and sees his post. He's been checking into Adam's disappearance and noticed a pattern change in his credit card charges (from basics to things like expensive lingerie and fancy restaurants) that suggests there was a woman in his life. He all but brags about committing mail fraud to find out that information

She thinks that she manipulated Misty into letting her go, but it turns out that Misty injected her cigarette with something that likely killed her.
