* ShipTease: Has one with Onestar when she shares his den.

* ImproperlyParanoid: Tends to distrust the other Clans and believe [=WindClan=] should rely on itself, leading to him being easily convinced (though admittedly under circumstances that would seem suspicious to [[AudienceAwarenessAdvantage everyone but the audience]]) that Onestar taking his place as leader is a conspiracy by Firestar to make Onestar a complacent puppet leader.

* RebelliousPrincess: It's heavily implied she's Onestar's daughter, and she sneaks around breaking Clan rules as an apprentice.

* TheMentor: To Webfoot and Crowfeather.

* TheMentor: To Ryestalk.

* UnfitForGreatness: Is first introduced as an amiable, well-meaning friend of Firestar, always helping him out despite Onestar being from [=WindClan=] while Firestar is from [=ThunderClan=], and the two groups are sometimes at odds with each other. Right before the Clan's leader Tallstar dies, he unexpectedly names Onestar his successor over his deputy Mudclaw who was supposed to succeed him. Onestar is as shocked as everyone and doesn't even want him to be leader, though Firestar pressures him into it, and since the only witnesses to the change were Firestar, Onestar and another Thunder Clan cat, Mudclaw suspects a conspiracy to install Firestar's loyal friend as a puppet leader and launches a failed coup to overthrow him. Onestar, shaken by the knowledge that some of his own Clanmates hate his friendship with Firestar, cuts ties with him to show his Clan is independent and increasingly makes a mess of his leadership from then on, culminating in launching an unprovoked invasion of ThunderClan just to prove he only has his own Clan's interests at heart.

** His cameo in ''Daisy's Kin'' is made of this trope, as he instantly becomes kind and cooperative once Alderheart explains they're crossing [=WindClan=] territory to try and save Smoky's kits.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: His decision to make [[spoiler:Onewhisker the Windclan deputy on his deathbed definitely isn't one of his wisest decisions as subsequent stories would show. Instead of bringing the two clans together in friendship like he hoped, Onestar wound up constantly giving Thunderclan and Firestar the cold shoulder due [[TheChainsOfCommanding the post of leader prioritizing looking after Windclan itself rather than fostering external relations]]. This effectively drove the former best friends apart, making things ''worse'' between the two clans instead. At least if Mudclaw was made leader, Onewhisker and Firestar would've remained friends.]]

* WrongGenreSavvy: It is revealed in ''Winds of Change'' that from his point of view and some "advice" from Hawkfrost, he thinks that [[spoiler:Onewhisker being deputy is a plot by Firestar to assimilate Windclan into Thunderclan and install Onestar as a puppet. This was why he launched his rebellion before Onewhisker could get his nine lives and leadership, thinking that he is saving his clan's independence. If only he stuck around to see [[{{Irony}} the actual results]] instead...]]

** Decontstructed. He comes off as cold and heartless to most of the world, except for Feathertail, and later, Leafpool. Both are his [[LoveInterest Love Interests]], and his relationships with both end badly, and he becomes a jerk for it. He doesn't show love to his son (who later turns evil directly because of Crowfeather's neglect) and makes it blatantly clear to Nightcloud that he only took her as his mate to make [=WindClan=] trust him again. And because of emotional and legal shenanigans, he breaks up with Leafpool and treats her like crap every time they meet, openly despising her [[spoiler:and disowning the children he had with her]]. Also, Feathertail dies- ironically, urging him with her last breath to ''not'' use her death as a further excuse to close out the world.

* CowardlyLion: More often than not, WindClan cats are believed to be scrawny weaklings compared to the cats of other Clans due to their light frames and running abilities. However, WindClan has shown more times than one to be just as fierce as anyone else.

* ClingyJealousGirl: Doesn't like seeing Leafpool around Crowfeather. [[spoiler:She lets go of this ''Crowfeather's Trial''.]]

* MixedAncestry: Her mother mated with a [=RiverClan=] tom named Beechfur. Oddly this is never alluded to in the books. However when she and her littermates disappeared in Eclipse, their scent was found near the [=RiverClan=], hinting they may have tried to visit their father.

* SomeoneToRememberHimBy: [[spoiler:The Clan discovers after his death that Ryestalk is pregnant with his kits, and it gives them some solace.]]

* TheCorruptible: Starts out bitter and angry and only gets worse after starting to train the the Dark Forest.

* SerialRomeo: Three mates. Three! That's Willowpelt levels of opposite-sex snatching! He also ends up fathering two litters of kits between the last two .

* ChickMagnet: See SerialRomeo. Let's see... Feathertail, Leafpool [[spoiler: who ends up having his kits]], and Nightcloud. ''Damn''.

* SerialRomeo: Three mates. Three! That's Willowpelt levels of opposite-sex snatching!

* EveryoneHasStandards: Although she is a loyal [=WindClan=] cat and will fight alongside her Clan, she can't bring herself to fight Fireheart while her Clan and [=ShadowClan=] are attacking [=ThunderClan=] in retaliation for [[spoiler:sheltering Brokentail]].
