Her mother, Dionne's daughter, died of a drug overdose when she was just being born, and since nobody met the father, she has been living with her grandmother since then. She was also diagnosed with a genetic liver disorder during that timespan, and it is during the HOPE Center's charity fundraiser, her current liver begins to act up and fail, at which point she needed a donor to stay alive. What's worse, on surgery day, a trio of bank robbers steal the ambulance containing the liver and kidnap one of the paramedics after killing the other, at which point the Rangers are left with very little time to catch the robbers and recover the liver.

* BillyNeedsAnOrgan: The premise of the episode has her suffering from a life-threatening genetic liver disorder and is in need of a life-saving transplant. Two weeks after her current liver starts to give out, a donor is finally found.

It once belonged to a young Fort Worth girl named Sherry Jones, who was killed by being hit by a car, and when her parents heard about the Berrys' plight, they wanted to donate their deceased daughter's organ. After robbing a bank, the Burner Brothers and Randy hit a truck that happens to be in the path of the ambulance containing the liver, causing Toby, who was driving, to break his arm. The robbers then steal the ambulance after killing one paramedic and taking the other hostage, needing him to tend to Toby's injury. The robbers, during this time, have no knowledge of or any particular interest in the organ. After Walker recovers the liver in time for the successful operation, he was able to track down the parents and bring them to the HOPE Center so she can thank them.

Shell likely destroyed the original copies rather than hand them over to internal affairs before planting the stolen drugs in his locker, and then sending Baker, Moody and Rogers after him and Simms, where the latter officer is killed by the three and made to look like a suicide, and then tried to kill District Attorney Clark after they chased him to her office. Quickly subverted, however, when Gage and Sydney beat Baker, Moody and Rogers to the evidence Glenn hid at the library and promptly arrest them, and Rogers, from there, promptly confesses Lt. Shell's involvement in the case. While Trivette, Gage and Sydney arrest Chick Winslow, Lt. Shell goes on to commit suicide by hanging before he could be arrested by Walker and Captain Ryder.

When Sadler catches Bobby outside the warehouse, Bobby is willing to go peacefully, but Blade certainly isn't, having shot Sadler to death. When Blade demands that Jesse return his gun and keep silent of what happened, or else he will kill his mother, it quickly goes from bad to worse when Carlos and Theresa find the gun first, leading up to Jesse taking the blame for Sadler's murder.
