* WhipItGood: Spoutlaw and Vaquamael use water bubbles on their sides to create whips of water to attack.

* SquishyWizard: It has high speed and special attack, but very low defenses.

* HerbivoresAreFriendly: Downplayed. Manadza isn't blatantly selfish and cruel like Arctikull, but still brings heatwaves wherever it goes and commands fire on a whim, so it's not a good idea to make it angry.

The Grass-Type Starter Pokémon of the Kaskade Region. Based on camelids and pampas grass.

* TheDitz: Both Danfluff and Alfalphalops are noted as not being very smart as part of their NewAgeRetroHippie gimmick (see below).

** Alfalphalops combines '''alfalfa''' with '''''camelops''''', while also including '''alpha''' in reference to the ''camelops'' being the early ancestor of camelids.

* ShoutOut: The line thematically recalls the three types of triangles, although Lockstin admits that this one is the weakest out of all the Starters. Llampas is an ''acute'' triangle due to [[{{Pun}} being cute]], Danfluff is an ''equilateral'' triangle as it sees everyone in equal light, and Alfalphalops is an ''obtuse'' triangle due to its lack of smarts. These Pokémon also feature humps that become [[VisualPun triangular pyramids]].
* SecretArt: Alfalphalops' signature move, Pollinate, raises defense and evasiveness and creates a Pollen Storm.

* {{Irony}}: Therpal's ability, Hydrophobic, renders it immune to any effects caused by rain and snow. Despite this, it's terrified of getting wet. (It's ''literally'' hydrophobic.)

* SecretArt: Tarmendoa's signature move, Thermal Vortex, makes it spin its body towards the target, creating a scorching blast of air that hits multiple foes. It also clears any weather conditions that are wet or cold; or, if there are none, creates Harsh Sunlight.

* {{Cowboy}}: Gains this aesthetic in Spoutlaw and Vaquamael.

* SecretArt: Vaquamael's signature move, Whirlduel, has it conjure a whirlpool to entrap foes, damage them for three to five turns, and start a rainstorm.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The line's use of sound-based attacks are part of why it has the Normal typing. Its little weevil-mouth trumpet allows it to make a wide variety of sounds, and it can use powerful noise attacks.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Akin to past Pokémon such as Seel and Dewgong, Kwaile's name is basically "quail" spelt wrong.

* AntiVillain: Despite committing crimes, Spoutlaw still feels somewhat guilty for doing so.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Lockstin admits he couldn't decide between the current name or the alternative spelling of "Vaguamael", but has since stuck with the current name.

* MeaningfulName: Its name is a partial anagram of Andromeda, referring to the conspiracy theory that the Rapture would begin with the Red Dragon nebula passed through the constellation of Andromeda.

* PantheraAwesome: The line is based on saber-toothed cats.

* SuddenNameChange: It was originally named Arctoyield, but this was changed to Arctikull because the latter sounded cooler.

* GoodOldWays: A downplayed case. Professor Menize, compared to her former boyfriend Tom and her colleague Professor Fir is a ''very'' low-tech professor, relying on writing with paper notes and using carrier Kwaile instead of other more advances means of communication. She's not unjustified however, given her disdain for Tom's increasingly invasive technology, [[spoiler: something that's reinforced when she smashes the Player's Pokewatch in order to hide secret information regarding the Relic Key from Tom's prying ears.]]

* WellIntentionedExtremist: Compared to his real life counterpart, Bezzle initially started off life as hoping to use his technology and various social media companies as a means to help people connect with each other and to make their lives more convenient. Unfortunately, being an executive with ''far'' too much power and influence causes him to erode his morals more and more in the name of profit and convenience, building increasingly invasive elements into his social media, taking over smaller businesses and driving them out to increase his empire's influence, making shady deals with criminal groups in the name of gaining more power. And that's not even considering his intent for Kaskade's Legendaries, [[spoiler: where he plans to take control of them in order to forcibly change the seasons in order to create perfect conditions to increase profits even more.]]

* RecurringElement: As Lockstin notes, the Starter Trio conforms to as-yet unconfirmed patterns that the fandom has observed in the official Starter Trios:

* PuppeteerParasite: Can subtly influence the thoughts and actions others with its powerful telepathic abilities. It even has the power to rewrite memories, which it first demonstrates... on ''[[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou Lockstin]]''. [[spoiler:Everyone thinks Orthbolod have been here all along — they actually only recently arrived.]]

* BiblicalMotifs: Said to be inspired by the army of locust/scorpion creatures depicted in The Book of Revelation.

* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Its signature move, as stated by Lockstin, is a Ground-type special attack that has a chance to burn… and smells like eggs.

* BiblicalMotifs: Said to be inspired by the army of horse/lion creatures with red, yellow, and blue armor plates depicted in The Book of Revelation.

* BiblicalMotifs: Inspired by the "biblical beast of the sea" from Revelation, which bore seven heads and bear paws. [[note]]Leoseace has one head in the front, considered the "main head", while its six tails bear six more heads with minds of their own.[[/note]]

* BiblicalMotifs: Inspired by two depictions of the Lamb of God in the book of Revelation, most notably the one said to have seven horns and seven eyes.[[note]]While Lamentu doesn't explicitly have seven horns, it sports two large ram horns and five spikes of white hair which could be considered horns, adding up to a total of seven.[[/note]]

* GreaterScopeVillain: Seems to be commanding the other Ultra Beasts to ravage Kaskade. [[spoiler:Ultimately averted — it itself was under mind control.]]

* BaldOfEvil: His head in his sprite has its own Lens Flare.

* MisplacedWildlife: Llampas and its evolutions are based on llamas and include aesthetics of Mayan and Aztec culture, neither of which are found in the Pacific Northwest. [[{{JustifiedTrope}} Justified]] as part of the ongoing theme of migration and change — Llampas is implied to have migrated to Kaskade from another land.

* HumansAreInsects: Manadza doesn't seem to hate humans, but judging by its reaction to Tom Bezzle's demands, it doesn't take kindly to being bossed around by them.
* SecretArt: Manadza’s signature Ability is Heat Haze. The first time Manadza is attacked with a physical move, it dodges and counters with an explosion of flames, damaging the foe and filling the arena with smoke and bright sunlight.

* ElementalArmor: Arctikull wears sheets of ice as armor, which ties into its signature Ability (see below).

* SuddenNameChange: Was originally named Arctoyield, but this was changed to Arctikull because the latter sounded cooler.

Early in the conflict between Manadza and Arctikull, Manadza decided it wanted a servant to assist it. Manadza took a Chewmunk, known for having amazing potential for evolution, and blessed it. The little rodent transformed into Tamunk, a Grass/Fairy emissary of Manadza. It flies ahead of Manadza’s path, using the power of nature to make plants grow, and preparing the region for Manadza’s summer. As such, Tamunk is known as the embodiment of spring.

* TheTrickster: Demonstrated in its signature moves. Hoodwink swaps its special and physical stats, while Hornswoggle sharply lowers an opponent's attack stats by having Wicoot pretend to be helpless.
** Lockstin even imagines it escaping from its Poké Ball when caught the first time, essentially pranking the player.

* WhipItGood: Spoutlaw and Vaquamael use water bubbles on their hips to create water whips. The latter is so proficient that it can create whirlpool lassos to ensnare enemies.

* WhipItGood: Much like Vaquamael, Desoray uses its tail like a whip to subdue foes.

The regional early bug Pokémon, based on weevils. All three are Bug/Normal type. Sighlo is a simple grub, who does little with its time other than eat massive amounts of grain, in preparation for its metamorphosis. Cooreds weaves a cocoon of tough cords around its soft body, and has begun to use its thin proboscis as a small trumpet. When it evolves into Buggaesack, it gains an impressively colored pattern on its round, bag-like body, and has gained impressive use of its trumpet snout; it can use it for a variety of sound-based moves, as well as to play reggae and ska music.

* SuddenNameChange: Probaska was formerly "Buggaesack" because the latter seemed simpler.

* MeaningfulName: Sighlo is derived from '''Sigh''' (because it's a rather bored bug who does little with its time) and '''Silo''' (as it looks like a grain silo and is full of the stuff). Cooreds is derived from '''Cocoon''' and '''Dreads''' (as its cords look like dreadlocks, which ties into the reggae inspirations). Finally, Buggaesack is derived from '''Bug''', '''Reggae''', and '''Hackysack''', as it's based on Reggae culture and a hackysack bag.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: It's revealed that much of Tom Bezzle's plans were actual [[spoiler:those of the Orbtholod controlling him.]]

** Burbwhirl's shares the ability Bubble Helm, making them immune to weather effects that affect air quality. This includes the Pollen Storm spread by Alfalphalop's Pollinate.

* ShoutOut: The trio thematically follows the "stop, drop and roll" of fire safety — Therpal ''stops'' and freezes in places if it senses danger, Aspfault ''drops'' by burrowing under the ground and Tarmendoa aggressively ''rolls'' towards enemies with Thermal Vortex.

** Spoutlaw combined '''water spout''' with '''outlaw'''.

* ShoutOut: The entire line is a reference to the Clint Eastwood film ''Film/TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly'' in reverse, with Vaquamael being the good, Spoutlaw being the bad and Burbwhirl being the ugly.
* SignatureMove: Vaquamael's signature move, Whirlduel, has it conjure a whirlpool to entrap foes, damage them for three to five turns and start a rainstorm.
* SnotBubble: The water bubble coming out of Burbwhirl's nose resemble this.

!!Wild Pokemon

* AlasPoorYorick: Opakespiel often cradles Specoey in its hand, which when coupled with the skull mask on Specoey, make it resemble the skull-holding scene from Hamlet,.

* PlayingPossum: Fitting for an opossum-based Pokemon. They're so good at it that they actually ''are'' somewhat dead; gaining Ghost abilities.
* RecurringElement: The "Common Mammal" of Kaskade, in a similar vein to Ratatta, Sentret and others.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Mercryni's mercury tears reference pygmy horned lizards shooting blood from their eyes as a defense mechnanism, but obviously due to the kid-friendly nature of Pokemon, they were made into tears of mercury instead.

* RecurringElement: The "Early Bug" of Kaskade, similar to Caterpie, Wurmple and others.
* {{Reggae}}: The line is based partly on reggae culture, including the hackysack (which was popularized in Oregon)

* UndergroundMonkey: This version of Skuntank is much mellower than its Sinnohan counterpart, and so its fumes arent lethally toxic anymore, hence the Normal-type.

* RecurringElement: The "Common Bird" of the Kaskade Region, akin to Pokémon such as Pigey, Pidove, Starly etc.

* MeaningfulName: Like all Pikaclones, Guruchi's name is Japanese. It pulls from ''hitokuchi'', meaning "to bite", and ''goro'', the onomatopoeia for something rolling or spinning around - in this case, turbines.

Water and Ghost-type variants of Gastly, Haunter and Gengar, themed on mist.

* UndergroundMonkey: Due to living in misty forests, Gastly and its evolutions formed themselves from water vapor instead of ghost energy, becoming part Water-type as a result.

A pure Grass-type regional variant of Bellsprout, based on the cobra lily. Unlike the Kantonian Bellsprot, it only has one evolution - Drosabell, a Grass/Psychic-type based on the ''drosera'' or sundew.

The "pseudo-legendary" of the Kaskade region, based on the mythical wasgo, otherwise known as the sea wolf.

* HairTriggerTemper: Lockstin states that Wasgrowl are known to explode if their fur is pet wrong, however it's unknown if this is literal (based on the fact that Wasgrowl's hair looks like a sea mine, and that it explodes in the video explaining it) or if it means it blows up figuratively, as in getting enraged.

One of four Fossil Pokémon native to the Kaskade Region. Both are Psychic/Ice-type and are based on ''phiomia'' and ''macrauchenia''. The line is ancestral to Drowzee, Musharna and Girafarig.

A regional variant of Sudowoodo, designed by the Amaze-All corporation. Designed to function as a radio tower.

* A regional evolution of Golbat developed by Amaze-All. Designed to listen in on people as they talk and them psychically beam that information back to Amaze-All HQ.

** Catatomb is '''cat''' and '''tomb''', which together sounds like '''catacomb''', a subterranean chamber used for religious practices - burial most commonly.
* SealedEvilInACan: Much like Spiritomb before it, Catatomb is a collection of spirits sealed inside of an object. In this case, its all of Catteraxe's nine lives trapped in a bone.

* MeaningfulName: Combines ''racoon'', ''rascal'' and ''consume''.

** Perpatua's head, frills and body together form the radiation warning symbol, while the green crests on its face resembles the biohazard symbol.

An immensely powerful Fire/Psychic lizard. It brings scorching heat wherever it goes, and wields flames with the skill of a sorcerer. In the ancient past, it travelled to the newly-formed Kaskade region, shortly after it was created by Groudon. Taking a liking to the region, it settled in, spreading its heat. His presence brought an eternal summer to the region. After Arctikull arrived, it woke from a long sleep, and began to spread heat again. In the current age, it participates in a constant chase around the region, following Arctikull. Wherever Manadza currently resides, the Kaskade region experiences an artificial summer.

* BearsAreBadNews: Arctikull is a brutal and cruel creature, hence its Dark typing. It cares not for any Pokémon that die from its winter, as long as it is comfortable itself.

* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Everybody is already aware of Orthbolod's existence and connection to figures of authority in Kaskade, but nobody knows [[spoiler:that they're actually influencing Tom Bezzle into opening a wormhole to Ultra Space.]]

* MesopotamianMonstrosity: Leoseace is a "serpopard," that being a Mesopotamian mythical beast with the body of a leopard and the neck of a serpent.

* SpaceWhale: In truth, Endram-Odai is [[spoiler:a whale made of star energy parasatized by a red, dragon-like creature.]]

* AlasPoorYorick: Opakespiel often cradles Specoey in its hand, which looks like the scene from Hamlet, with the skull mask on Specoey.

A Normal/Poison-type regional variant of Skuntank

* FearsomeCritters: Is based on the Argopelter, an ape-like beast from the Pacific Northwest that uses its flexible arms to hurl projectiles at intruders.
* UndergroundMonkey: The Kaskadian Ambipom is far more aggressive than Sinnohan Ambipom. It carries rocks around with it and uses the arms on its tail to hurl them at foes.
