* ManlyManAndSensitiveGuy: Bernie's the Manly Man and Jordan's the Sensitive Guy.

Bernie and Wanda's younger niece, the youngest child and the half-sister of Jordan and Vanessa. Bryana is a friendly little girl who is sweet, innocent, and quite naïve, though she is often more vicious, bratty and obnoxious as the series progresses. Bryana is her uncle's favorite (although he loves all three) at first but starts to lose this. Bryana is playful and always trusts her Uncle Bernie. Bryana is known for always attacking and successfully beating up her older brother Jordan.

* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: While Jordan is physically weaker-than-average and generally so effeminate that he loves ribbon dancing, it's his little sister Bryana who's grown athletic and aggressive to point of being able to attack her brother and win easily.

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She's shown to be athletic as she's a fierce soccer player in "Nut Job" and is able to overpower her older brother in close combat - while Bryana does have an aggressive side, she tends to be more interested in girly activities.

* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: While Jordan is weaker-than-average and so effeminate that he loves ribbon dancing, his little sister Bryana who's more athletic and aggressive to point of being able to attack and beat her brother easily.

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She's got a bit of tomboyish traits, but she has shown interest in slightly effeminate gymnastic activities.

* PushoverParent: He dotes on Bryana, which made her more of a spoiled brat than she already was.

* TeensAreShort: If a bit. Though she may not look like a short person, the mature aunt Wanda is significantly taller than Vanessa is.

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Played with. So far, from what we know about Vanessa and Jordan's father, he's left the family and is, possibly, in prison, so that's probably saying something, however, on that same hand, Bryana's father, Bryan, is shown to be a decent guy.

* RebelliousSpirit: Implied, Bernie mentioned how all of them grew up in the same home but, so far, only Stacy turned out "wrong" in a sense.

* PromotionToParent: Vanessa, due to her mom being so unstable, raised Briana and Jordan until the kids were adopted by Bernie. This authority carries over after they move in with him, since both Jordan and Bryana still look to Vanessa at times for approval. This is part of why she's often angry or frustrated. In "The King and I" when Wanda reprimands Bernie's opinion of Vanessa, she reminds him that Vanessa 'never got to be a child' and he visibly softens over it. Eventually, Vanessa works through these issues, and both her relationships with her family and her self image improves.

* TheGhost: She's made an appearance in the family reunion episode and at Uncle Elister's funeral but, most of the time, Bernie references her and how she raised him.

* GrumpyBear: Depending on where the episode takes place and/or his attitude.

* TeensAreShort: If a bit. Though she may not look like a short person, the mature aunt Wanda is significiantly taller than Vanessa is.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: In spite of his crass and irritated behavior towards his nieces and nephew, who themselves have a gray morality, he does have love for all three of them. One another hand, Bernie has rarely disrespected people who did not do him wrong. The worst his character has ever done in addressing the audience was to quote what some are likely thinking in a comical tone. Another example is when a lady was staring somewhat blankly as the kids misbehaved in the store and he snapped at the woman, only to calm down and request that anyone out there who knew the stranger give her his apology.

* SirSwearsALot: A more euphemistic version. Since this is a rated 'G' comedy show, he says words such as "doggone", "bull", or so on.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite being more level-headed and gentler than Bernie, Wanda isn't afraid to go strict on the kids when they really push her past her limit. The episode "For Whom the Belt Tolls" is a flagrant example. This woman is also potentially ''quick'' to retaliate if she feels wronged or well-annoyed, but it's usually nothing too outrageous from either side.

* DeadpanSnarker: She has her moments, mostly around Bernie.

* Pride: Bernie is one to get clearly ruffled often enough if accused of being at fault, such as when he sharply denied that Jordan "played" him into letting him spend money on a seemingly frivilous telescope. This pride has also caused Bernie to do the occasional reckless action, getting himself in sure trouble.

* WomanScorned: A more minor example, but she claims to be "LIVID" when Bernie said that if she were dead, he'd go with Halle Berry.

* AntiVillain: She may act rather antagonistic towards Bernie most of the time, but in reality, she's only behaving like the typical teenage girl when she would gain some sort of rebellion.

* AntiHero: He could be this depending on the plot. It's actually pretty often he fits the KnightinSourArmor role, for his methods, even if a bit too harsh at times, are meant to keep the three kids from going down a very wrong path.
