* PinkMeansFeminine: they were known for wearing hot pink as much as possible throughout the race. So much so that even their flannelette shirts during the Canada challenges were pink (compared to Sarah and Grace's more subdued colour schemes).

* TheLoad: Jo, as she struggled more with many of the tasks, such as pig wrangling and rowing their raft in leg 1, and Michele spent much of the season pushing her to be more assertive and make decisions.

* RantInducingSlight: In the finale, during the opinion matching task, Killer Fatigue caused Jo to reach a breaking point, and she went off on Paul. Which led to:

* DangerouslyShortSkirt: The skirt she wore in the first leg, resulting in her flashing her thong on the Pig Detour.

* RealityShowGenreBlindness: Sarah's wardrobe in general. She wore high heels and a DangerouslyShortSkirt to the Starting Line.

* RealityShowGenreBlindness: In Leg 4, Steve shared the fastest route to Lucy & Emilia and Ross & Tarryn to Dubai, as it was a dangerous move (Paul called him out on this) as 1) they were the only teams on the second flight and 2) Being aware there was a must-vote U-Turn ahead which could've potentially eliminate them from the race.

* ForegoneConclusion: They had no chance to catch up in their last leg, 1) because of the 4-hour time penalty they received after quitting the roadblock and 2) being Marked for Elimination when there were no equalising tasks and 3) Being intersected before the pitstop guaranteed all but elimination.
* GoodSamaritan: When they gave their salvage pass to Lucy & Emilia to save them from the very first elimination.

* UnderdogsNeverLose

** In the eleventh and penultimate leg, the taxi driver got lost while heading for the Great Wall, and completed the task much later than the 2 leading teams. This would've got them eliminated had Joseph & Grace not going broke or their getting even more lost.

* RealityGenreShowBlindness: See NoSenseOfDirection.

* NoSenseOfDirection: Leaving the Starting Line in a tie for 2nd with Michelle & Jo, they decided to go in the opposite direction of the two women who were from Sydney, resulting in them getting lost on the way to the Sydney airport, and they ended up falling to the middle of the pack. This did not effect them, as every team got on the same flight.

* AsLongasItSoundsForeign: Shane to the Taxi driver in Paris to go "Pronto".

Cops from Shepparton in Victoria, and one of the most surprising winners in the entire series. They did not start out well, in part thanks to terrible luck with taxi drivers in various countries, and would have weak finishes throughout the entire first half of the season. They would improve greatly once they hit North America, but still went into the finale as huge underdogs to Paul & Steve and Michelle & Jo. They would pull ahead of the other two teams at the opinion matching task, and pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Race history. One of the most likable winners in the series, and one of the teams who could probably put the money to the best use.

Workmates and alpha males from Victoria, they came into the season behind many egotistical proclamations from Paul, and his ego and abrasiveness ended up annoying the other teams, and making him the clear villain of the season. While early on it looked like Paul's heady opinion of himself was way overestimated, they turned it on in Istanbul with the Arabic symbol memory Roadblock and ended up winning five straight legs. In the finale, they would fall behind on the opinion matching task, and Paul choking on the FinalExamFinale quiz would prevent them from catching up to Shane & Andrew, finishing 2nd.

** In the seventh leg, they they were relegated to the second group of the soufflé baking Roadblock after catching a slower taxi.

* RealityShowGenreBlindness: In Leg 4, Steve shared the fastest route to Lucy & Emilia and Ross & Tarryn to Dubai, as it was a dangerous (Paul called him out on this) 1) they were the only teams on the second flight and 2) Being aware there was a must-vote U-Turn head thus potentially eliminate them from the race.

** In the ninth leg, racing for the Fast Forward against Paul & Steve, they got stuck in traffic and had to change plans knowing they won't arrive in time. It didn't cost any places, especially James & Sarah having to back to the hotel to settle fees and getting broke.

** In the fifth leg, their driver again got lost looking for the Dubai Pearl already hours behind (after failing to complete the horserace task), though a morning equalizer settled things.
** In the seventh leg, the driver arrived only seconds late to Le Cordon Bleu, which they were relegated to the second set of teams of the soufflé baking Roadblock.

* ChekhovsHobby: They were the only ones to complete the much more difficult Jig detour in leg 1, due to their dance background and insistence on pleasing the rather strict judges.
They jumped into 1st place during the Pull Detour in leg 2 due to Sue's experience with milking cows, and knowing to both rub the cow on the head and warm her hands up before attempting to milk.
