* PurposefullyOverpowered: You get to play Angel Jin yourself near the end of story mode, and if you're even modestly skilled at Tekken you'll be more than capable of mopping the floor with the comparably-but-not-quite-as-powerful True Devil Kazuya.

* EasilyForgiven: {{Downplayed}}. The end of the Mishima Saga of ''7'' sees that Jin will be the one to end Kazuya, even though the war was his fault. Lars seems somewhat accepting that working with Jin is the best chance of putting things to rest. [[spoiler:Played straight in ''8'' where Lars not only becomes his CoolUncle alongside Lee, but serves as TheLancer during the story, even calling Jin his "Trump Card". By the finale, his forgiveness ends up earned for the most part, as even though Jin ''did'' start the war, he took responsibility and saw things through until the war's end, where circumstances had ultimately resulted in Kazuya and G Corporation turning out to be much more evil than he ever was as head of the Zaibatsu.]]

* ByronicHero: Jin is a very quiet, standoffish individual who has severe trauma brought upon by his mother's apparent death, his grandfather shooting him in the head, and his father being absent from his life and being a horrendous criminal. It doesn't help he was constantly denying the devil inside himself, [[DeathSeeker believing he nor anyone else with the Devil gene should exist]]. That said, he's comparatively much kinder than both Heihachi and Kazuya and being raised by Jun helped him grow up as a relatively normal boy. And for all his crimes later on, it was all well-intended as he wanted to save the world from his paternal family and the Devil gene even if his actions were a bit extreme.

Instead, he chooses to live for a better future for himself and his loved ones.

* AnthropomorphicPersonification: [[spoiler:His canonical appearence seems to be the physical manifestation of Jin's inner self and desire. Jin being consumed by anger and hatred made Devil Jin an aggressive, destructive, and homicidal being. Jin being in denial about his self and past puts him at odds with his devil self in controlling his body, and his devil self calls Jin out of his rejection, and Jin's change and growth seem to affect him as well, with him becoming more noble after Jin lets go of his vengeance and desires to protect, as well as being able to fully control his devil form.]]
