* NeverMyFault: In ''The Last Jedi'', she criticizes Poe for not obeying Holdo, despite the fact that this mostly stemmed from the latter's poor decisions as a leader. All of this could have been avoided had Leia pointed out the failings of Holdo's plan to begin with, or explained said plan to their unnerved crew.

* BadassNormal: In the Original Trilogy, due to being unaware of her Force-sensitivity. Despite this, she's just as badass as Luke.

* TheBeautifulElite: She is the Royal Princess of Alderan, a skilled diplomat in the Imperial Senate, before its dissolution by the Emperor, and a high-ranking and highly respected officer in the Rebel Alliance. That's on top of her beauty, which she inherited from her birth mother Queen/Senator Padmé Amidala, who was noted for being very beautiful and also for her skills in diplomacy, and her handsome father Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, whom she also inherited her incredibly strong connection, if untapped potential with the Force. Through her mother, she also has blood ties to the Nobility and Aristocracy of the Naboo.

* NiceGirl: Leia is nice to everyone except [[{{Tsundere}} Han]].

* ActionMom: Having a son hasn't slowed her down in the slightest.

* AdaptationalWimp: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. In ''Legends'', she became a full-fledged Jedi Knight and directly battled the forces of the dark side alongside Luke, though this was after several decades of being an on-and-off Jedi. In the new canon, she chose not to complete her training after receiving a vision of her future, particularly the fate of her son. However, that decision only took place on the literal last night of her training, so she was a Jedi in all but name. Even decades later, she's still very strong in the Force, enough so that she is able to train Rey in Luke's absence, and an accomplished general.

* NotQuiteFlight: When she "flew" toward the ''Raddus'', what she was actually doing was using the Force to pull herself back toward the ship, something that likely couldn't have happened if she was on a planet with actual gravity.

* UnskilledButStrong: She was Luke's Padawan in the Jedi arts and proved great potential, a given as she is a Skywalker and daughter of the strongest Jedi of all time, to the point she had constructed her own lightsaber, after having a vision of Ben's fate, she chose to end her training, thus never becoming a Jedi. Yet she retained a strong connection and understanding to the Force the rest of her life, strong enough she was able to complete Rey's training after Luke's death.

* DeathByAdaptation: In the ''Legends'' continuity, Leia was still alive several decades after the Galactic Civil War ended. In ''Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker'', she dies in 35 ABY after her efforts in trying to communicate with Kylo Ren drains up all of her energy.

* MoralityPet: A downplayed one to [[EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas Kylo Ren]]. He can't bring himself to kill her in ''The Last Jedi'' and clearly still cares for her despite his fixation on 'destroying the past' (the novelization even indicates he would've used the Force to stop his wingmen's missiles from reaching her ship, if he hadn’t been caught off-guard). However, this doesn't stop him from trying to destroy everything and everyone else she cares about. In the end, however, her HeroicSacrifice to bring Ben back to the Light Side of the Force affects him deeply and does, alongside Han and Rey's love for him, [[LoveRedeems does redeem]] him.

* OlderAndWiser: In terms of her temperament, the years have caused her to mellow out. While she does slap Poe at one point, it's only after an unauthorized maneuver he took that resulted in the loss of many Resistance soldiers. Aside from that, she is much more approachable and warmer to others than she was when she was younger.

* GenocideSurvivor: In ''Film/ANewHope'', the Empire uses the Death Star to blow up the planet of Alderaan, with Princess Leia being ForcedToWatch as her home is instantaneously destroyed. The [[StarWarsExpandedUniverse Expanded Universe]] goes into more detail about how this affected her. The comic ''ComicBook/StarWarsPrincessLeia'' goes over Leia's attempts to track down and protect any other surviving Alderaanians.

* ForgivenButNotForgotten: Leia did eventually accept her father Anakin's redemption, but it took her a long time, and she remains deeply affected by his atrocities as Darth Vader (which is understandable, considering several of those atrocities [[ItsPersonal directly affected her on a very personal level]]). She still thinks of Bail Organa, her adoptive father, as her 'real' father and didn't even tell Ben who his grandfather was for much of his life.
** When she did die, it is mentioend that she accepted her father's love for her like she never had before.

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Played with. Leia's FirstLove in ''Leia, Princess Of Alderaan'' is Kier, a very suitable Alderaanian NiceGuy who is [[DoomedByCanon dead by the end of the book]] [[spoiler: though their relationship wouldn't have survived him [[WellIntentionedExtremist trying to turn her parents in to spare Alderaan from Imperial reprisal]]. In the films Leia ends up falling for rebellious smuggler Han Solo over IdealHero Luke (which is probably just as well, seeing how they're {{Long Lost Sibling}}s). She possibly takes after her mother in this regard (though [[LoveableRogue Han]] never went as dark as [[FallenHero Anakin]]). When Han claims she likes him ''because'' he's a scoundrel and that "there aren't enough scoundrels in [her] life", she doesn't try very hard to counter this. However, she seems to like him more when he becomes [[TookaLevelInKindness a nicer person]] and she never liked his cocky money-hungry sides.

It's also revealed that the lightsaber she constructed when she was training under Luke has a blue blade.  

* DaddysGirl: Implied. While it's been noted that Leia had positive, happy relationships with both Bail and Breha, there is more emphasis on Leia's bond with the former. This is rather ironic considering how much Leia detests her ''biological'' father Darth Vader, and she takes quite a while to come to terms with their relationship.
