** The cartoon, naturally, plays it for laughs. In "Translate This", Amy is actually visibly horrified when the Universal Translator nearly blurts out her crush for him. "Closed Door Policy" shows that she carries a picture of Sonic in her purse, but she insists it's a "[[ImplausibleDeniability picture of a platonic friend that [she has] no romantic interest in]]."

* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: The team's marching orders at the heart of the show are to fight off evil and defend their island home, but goofing off is more their cup of tea.

* {{Technophobia}}: Having grown up in the wild, she's not exactly trustful of technology, only turning to it when she has no other choice. She doesn't really like robots much, either, as she's convinced they'll turn on everyone and cause a robo-apocalypse (turns out [[Recap/SonicBoomS2E27RobotsFromTheSkyPartTwo she'd be right]]). Somehow, she manages to be good friends with the technology-loving Tails despite this.

Team Sonic are the protectors of the Unnamed Village. While this group of five friends may have their differences and occasional disagreements, they're still close-knit and always come together to save the day.

* VitriolicBestBuds: Mainly in Season 1, where they are loyal friends and also present many times where they seemed like they hate each other at times, mainly because of the gang grabbing a ton of {{Jerkass Ball}}s for humor or not.

* {{Not So Above It All}}s: Played straight and zig-zagged most of the time in Season 1 of the show. Aside from the [[DumbMuscle obviously moronic]] Knuckles and the obviously immature [[SuperSpeedster Sonic]], the so-called smart characters who make themselves seem sensible & whatnot such as [[ScienceHero Tails]] & [[TheChick Amy]] in Season 1 of the show were also lacking common sense in situations, much to the point that Eggman once pointed this out in the episode "Multi-Tails".

* PinkIsFeminine: Has Pink fur and is still a GenkiGirl.

As is fitting for a team named after him, Sonic is the spearhead of the bunch. He may have a smart remark for many occasions and tends to be a bit egotistical, but he's always willing to use his superhuman speed and signature Spin Attacks to lead his friends into battle and protect the innocent from evil of all kinds.
