* OlderSidekick: Though, as Mitsunari and Yoshitsugu point out, Sasuke behaves more like Yukimura's MOTHER than anything else.

* BerserkButton: The one time so far he's issued an [[IllKillYou outright death-threat]] is after his defeat during the Osaka Summer Siege, because he knows that Yukimura's up next.

In the manga ''Tiger's Blood'', Yukimura reflects that Mitsunari is what he could have become if tipped over the edge, and feels duty bound to help him. * FriendlyEnemy: Yukimura has great respect for Masamune, and they work very well together as a team. Their [[HoYay developing friendship]] and rivalry is one of the main focuses of the anime.

* ShipperOnDeck: In the anime, he firmly supports Sasuke's "engagement" with Kasuga. This is strange, considering his normal reaction to any mention of love, but then again Sasuke is the closest thing he has to a friend.

* SkilledButNaive: The reason Yukimura's not considered one of the strongest opponents around is that while he has lots of potential, he simply hasn't had enough battle experience.
