Ratchet Altair originally led the main combat squad of the Revue, the Star Division, and fought alongside Cheiron Archer and Subaru Kujo. In the early spring, Sunnyside requested the help of the Imperial Combat Revue's commander, Ichiro Ohgami, to aid the fledgling organization. Instead, Ohgami sent his nephew, Ensign Shinjiro Taiga, to lead the group. When Ratchet became unable to fight due to her dwindling spiritual energy levels rendering her STAR inoperable, she assigned Shinjiro to lead the Star Division in her stead while she stepped down to assume an advisory position. The Revue would later be joined by Rosarita Aries, Diana Caprice, and Gemini Sunrise (who was originally hired at the Little Lip Theater as a janitor) as they contended with the growing threat of a group of demons seeking to resurrect their master, Oda Nobunaga, then later, Tutenkhamun. Shinjiro would continue to lead the Star Division after Ratchet departed for Europe to found a new Combat Revue in Germany.

->Voiced by: Creator/NaoyaUchida (Japanese), Creator/DaveWittenberg (English)

The commander of the New York Combat Revue and the owner of the Little Lip Theater. He welcomes Shinjiro in New York when they first meet. Michael is always seen (officially in public) with Xingshi Wong at his side. His niece is Diana Caprice.
----
* BlatantLies: Ratchet calls him out when he says everyone in the force calls him "Sunny".
* BunnyEarsLawyer: RichIdiotWithNoDayJob aside, he knows what he's doing.
* TheCaptain: He is in charge of the New York Combat Revue.
* GratuitousJapanese: He's not shy to using Japanese phrases to help Shinjiro feel at home.
** Or just as likely, because he's more than a little obsessed with Japanese culture himself.
* KickTheDog: Seemingly this when he tells Shinjiro that he needs to sacrifice one of the girls. This turns to be false since Michael was just testing Shinjiro. For that, you can put a sock in him.
%%* LargeHam
%%* ManipulativeBastard: See KickTheDog.
* NerdGlasses: He wears eyeglasses, but he's no nerd.
* TheNicknamer: Has a new nickname for Shinsnap every time he speaks to him. Which eventually turns into a running gag.
* OccidentalOtaku: Takes a rather keen interest in all things Japanese.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite his demeanor, he's this for the New York Combat Revue.
* RichIdiotWithNoDayJob: He plays with this as the owner of the Little Lip Theater since he's secretly in charge of the New York Combat Revue.

A waitress for the Little Lip Theater, Plum/Cherry is usually seen rollerskating around to deliver food and drinks to theater guests. In reality, Plum/Cherry is assigned to work at the Rainbow Division whenever the Ahab is launched.

Plum/Cherry enjoys teasing Anri, finding her {{Tsundere}} moments to be very cute.
----
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: None of that with her. She's making it a goal to find someone to settle down with after she's done with Rainbow Division duties.
* BridgeBunnies: Part of her MissionControl role.
* CoolBigSis: She acts like towards Gemini when she first arrived in New York before and after she was recruited to join the Star Division.
* DamselInDistress: Gets to be one after she and Anri were turned to stone by Tsugarubi.
* DubNameChange: Possibly to make a very strange name sound sensible in English... and to add a naughty pun.
* DumbBlonde: Seriously averted with her.
* TheGadfly: Enjoys teasing Anri, all the way to the ''New York NY'' [=OVA=].
* GagBoobs: In fact, taking a picture focusing on them earns some affection from her!
* TheGlomp: Does this to Anri in the ''New York NY'' [=OVA=].
* MeaningfulName: Her first name is named after a fruit (Plum and Cherry) and her last name is based off a dog species (in this case, the American Cocker Spaniel).
* MissionControl: Works alongside Anri in the Rainbow Division.
* NiceGirl: Despite being flirty with Shinjiro, Plum/Cherry is really a nice girl once you get to know her.

The vendor at the gift shop inside Little Lip Theater, selling various souvenirs to guests coming and going to and from the theater. She also creates all of the stage costumes for the Star Division whenever they put up a play in the Little Lip Theater. In reality, Anri's assigned to work at the Rainbow Division whenever the Ahab is launched.

In ''V'', Anri sells bromides to Shinjiro. She's also on the receiving end of Plum/Cherry's teasing to no end.
----
* BridgeBunnies: Part of her MissionControl role.
* ButNotTooForeign: According to [[AllThereInTheManual Sega]], Anri's a sansei, a third generation Japanese-American. Her grandfather immigrated to America from Japan.
* CharacterDevelopment: Part of it includes [[DefrostingIceQueen warming up to Shinjiro during his stay with the division in New York City.]]
* DamselInDistress: She gets to be one after she and Plum/Cherry were turned to stone by Tsugarubi.
* FirstNameBasis: Subverted at first. Anri wants Shinjiro to call her "boss".
* TheGlomp: On the receiving end of it by Plum/Cherry in the New York [=OVA=]s.
* KimonoIsTraditional: Anri wears a green kimono when she's manning the gift shop. That said, Anri herself is not what you'd call a traditional Japanese lady, considering that she was born and raised in America.
* MissionControl: Works alongside Plum/Cherry in the Rainbow Division.
* NiceGirl: Once Shinjiro gets to interact more with Anri, she becomes friendlier.
* {{Tsundere}}: She's very, ''very'' tsundere. Anri shows it off both the game and [=OVAs=].
** Notable as the first tsundere in the franchise who's not actually a pairing option.
*** In fact, Plum/Cherry [[TheGadfly takes advantage by teasing her]] about it, even when she denies it.
