Adopted daughter of the military commander Heidern, who found her as an orphan after her Orochi blood lead to the death of her tribe. She fights using the assassination techniques learned from her surrogate father. She is also very taciturn and stoic.

Third-rate {{Salaryman}} Saburo Nishikiyama found passion in fighting crimes after a superhero attraction gig, taking the mantle of the skull-themed superhero Skullomania... * WholeCostumeReference: One of her outfits is just Angel's. Of course Angel has no problem being provocative in her mode of dress so this naturally off-puts Kula.

* BackFromTheDead: Shermie did recall she ''died'' in 1997, she came back and was able to participate due to Verse's defeat in ''XIV'' releasing her soul and the rest of the New Face Team members. None of her former opponents bats an eye on this and were just glad she's back after being missing so long, with the exception of Leona since she did not forget that was Shermie and her two friends Yashiro and Chris who made her enter the Riot of Blood at the end of KOF '97. This is even lampshaded by Mai.

* CloudcuckooLander: Very airheaded and mistakenly believes that Terry was a girl to begin with.

* {{Greed}}: Despite her situation, she seems to be looking to find more ways to get more money. She criticises Kukri not for dragging her and the others into the pocket world, but for wasting it on that instead of using it as a business. She also briefly considers making money off of Terry's new appearance.

* AmbiguouslyBi: She openly hits on the other girls in her winning quotes and even admits that she wouldn't mind if Terry stayed a girl forever. During her ending, [[spoiler:she's blatantly checking out the new girl incorporating to her class. Too bad it turned out to be Gang-Il in a drag]]

* AdaptationalVillainy: As much of a shady and foul-mouthed jerkass he is in his home series, Kukri is at worst a neutral character. [[spoiler: And then his team's ending shows him working with Elizabeth to revive Ash, which may make him one of the good guys]]. In this game he is the BigBad, a loathsome pervert trying to turn the women of Earth into sand.

* FourthWallObserver: He is perfectly aware of being in a game, going so far to directly address the player at some points.

* AmbiguouslyBi: Despite stating not being interested in girls on her win quote against Luong, she shows more than passing interest on Athena, Shermie, Mai and Zarina on her respective win quotes against them.

* GuestFighter: It would seem that SNK and Arika decided to a mutual crossover, since Skullomania appears in this while Terry (in his standard, male form) is set to appear in ''Fighting EX Layer''.

* BlatantLies: Still refuses to admit that Iori and Miss X are one in the same. In one of his win quotes, when it's pointed out that his moveset is too similar, he claims to be Iori's long lost sister.

* GenderBender: The third character to receive this treatment. However, Iori seems to have an exception as his third outfit is not him as a woman but just him crossdressing as he did in his original appearance as Miss X.

* NoblewomansLaugh: One of his win quote's has him about to go LaughingMad again, but he slips into this.

* ACupAngst: She seems pretty annoyed with the fact that Terry, who [[GendeeBender got genderbent]], got BoobsOfSteel after being turned into a woman.

* SecondLawOfGenderBending: Begrudgingly admits to himself to getting accustomed to his new body in some win quotes and cutscenes.

* GratuitousFrench: Yeah, we aren't sure why he does that either.

* NeverLiveItDown: InUniverse. Several of the other characters remark on how Yuri is always a kidnapping target, despite the fact that she was only kidnapped ''once''. She doesn't seem to mind, thinking that it shows how irresistibly cute she is.
