When it worked it was spectacular, but [[CripplingOverspecialization it had no other tricks if an opponent didn't give them a way under.]] It wasn't very fast, nor was it very tough, but it had that massive flipper.

Also, he referred to Killertron as a former Grand Finalist when it arrived in series 2, when it previously reached the heat final. He didn't correct this mistake as far as three years later, where he referred to it as a two time Grand Finalist in its final fight. Also called Tornados 'Anti-Crusher Web' an 'Anti-Pit Device', making Tornados Series 6 championship win ''a lot'' more controversial.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Lost in Series 3 to the laughable Aggrobot. How? The driver intentionally activated the self-righting mechanism which also acts as a ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' type taunt after believing they had the upper hand. The tail got stuck into the floor, leaving all four wheels off the arena floor.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: An obvious joke entry, covered in highly flammable fur with a rather ineffective weapon. But its predecessor Nemesis (which had an even less effective weapon, defeated a house robot and went toe to toe with a future champion, Diotoir itself reached 2 heat finals, reached the semis of the First World Championship, made the final of the International championship, the finals of the Celebrity Special, won the Tag Team Terror and defeated the mighty Tornado in Series 5 (Team Tornado called it the most powerful 2WD pusher they'd ever seen.)

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Lost in Series 3 to the laughable Aggrobot, as its self-righting mechanism accidentally activated whilst it was on its wheels and got jammed, leaving all four wheels off the arena floor.

* Determinator: Third-place play-off against Hypnodisc, oh so much.

* CurbStompBattle: Dished them out on several occasions, but wasn't immune to them either. Was greatly outclassed by Chaos 2 in series 3, resulting in the first "Out Of The Arena" flip. Was also beaten with ease by Razer on 2 occasion, though it took it to a real nail biter in their final fight.

* ActorAllusion: The teams first robot, Scutters Revenge, was named after the robots from RedDwarf, in which the shows host Craig Charles had starred.

* ActorAllusion: The robot Scutter's Revenge was a reference to his role on ''RedDwarf''. Also, this:

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: An obvious joke entry, covered in highly flammable fur with a rather ineffective weapon. * TheWorfEffect: Everyone said they were terrified to go up against Hypno-Disc, but in a 3-or-more-way melee, it was very easy to beat Hypno-Disc by ganging up on it. Hypno-Disc's final three battles were all melees (all of which it lost), and the other robots barely touched each other until Hypno-Disc had been taken care of.

* ChainsawGood: In the first 2 wars, that is. Afterward, with more robots gaining thicker armour, Matilda's chainsaw became useless. It was replaced in series 5 with a 27kg Flywheel. It was MUCH more destructive
* TookALevelInBadass / EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: The aforementioned flywheel

* EnsembleDarkhorse: In a manner of speaking. Firestorm is almost universally considered to be THE greatest robot to never win the title.

* CrowningMomentOfFunny: Its appearance in the Celebrity Special, Nemesis's participation in the Inferno Insurrection, the list goes on and on ''and on''...

* TearJerker: The team took a year off after series 5, due to the death of David Gribble in a motorcycle accident.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: in Robot Wars Extreme, where his separation claw was replaced by a carding system (Red Yellow and Green) and a timer was added to his chest to count out immobilised robots.
* TheScrappy: Before the aforementioned rescue. Refbot CAUSED more problems than he solved.

* BadassDecay: Lost a lot of power as George didn't upgrade between wars. This was fine in series 4, as it was still miles ahead, but by series 6...

* LoveItOrHateIt: After it defeated Razer for the title, using the Anti-Crusher Web. To this day people argue over whether Tornado cheated.
** To elaborate, it unveiled a new design feature in the series final, a sort of fence specifically designed to keep it out of opponent Razer's range. This feature also stopped it falling in the pit at the end of the match, but since it didn't get it out again the machine [[YourMileageMayVary might be regarded as immobilised.]]

* InternetBackdraft: Try to find someone who thinks it won fairly. You'll have to look very, ''very'' hard.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: See CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass. Diotoir had a great number of CMOA's.

* EnsembleDarkhorse

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Throwing The Steel Avenger out of the arena [[BeyondTheImpossible without using its weapon]]. It did so through ''sheer kinetic force''.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: The judges, when they first saw Hypno-Disc backstage decried it, feeling it looked like something out of BattlestarGalactica and didn't think it would amount to much. It promptly tore apart the majority of its opponents on the way to the grand final, where it was finally stopped by Chaos 2.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: See MadeOfIron below.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Became the first robot to immobilise Hypno-Disc, and defeated Razer, at the times when they were arguably at their most powerful.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: Tore Razer apart on 2 separate occasions. One of, if not ''the'' only robot to defeat it cleanly.

* BadassDecay: Tore other robots apart for 3 series, but notably struggled in Series 6, where it was beaten with relative ease by Tornado in the first round of the semi finals. Both teams were surprised by this, with Team Tornado stating that "We thought we'd be going out in a bin bag". Hypno-Disc was also knocked out in the first round of the All Stars and Challenge Belt tournaments of Extreme II, its final appearance.

* {{Flanderization}}: Gained a reputation for being highly unreliable despite only actually breaking down once or twice.

* TheAce: Defeated nearly every opponent it faced in series 3 and 4 almost effortlessly, and again for much of Series 5, before falling to Bigger Brother (Funnily enough, in series 3, Chaos 2 had fought and defeated its predecessor, Big Brother).
