** When he fails to get Happosai angry in order to use the Hiryu Shoten Ha on him (which relied on drawing on the hot ki of the opponent, which Happosai knew and thus refused to get angry no matter what Ranma does), Ranma realized that he had been focusing on the heat of Happosai's anger. He actually had another heat source he could draw off of that's even greater, which is from the heat of his perversity, something Happosai has in surplus and cannot stave off. Ranma draws it out by flashing lewd photos of his girl form to him, thus baiting Happosai to release the hot ki needed to use the technique.

** Being able to get around Ryoga's super endurance due to the Breaking Point training by making sure his hits are crushing between his attacks and another object.
** His failure to recreate the Shishi Hokodan effectively since it drew on depression for strength had Ranma create a new move in the Moko Takabisha which drew on an emotion that was more natural for him.
** When fighting against Kirin, Ranma realized that he was stopping his attacks with his chopsticks. He gets the idea to hit Kirin with hot water balls as liquid can't be stopped by chopsticks.
