* RealityEnsues: The men that the two brothers hired to reinforce their numbers are distinct from Morales' terrorist army, and this causes friction. Miguel's and Alvarez's men snark at how Morales' troops are as good as dead and won't miss them. Then, another instance of this trope: Miguel puts on a HAZMAT suit to escape the cordon around the gym where he set off the chemical bomb, but RAINBOW's team instantly recognize him anyway thanks to the limp he got while fighting the team helicopter.

Logan is is an American Rainbow operative and the protagonist of ''Vegas''.
* RaginCajun: Logan's from New Orleans, and has a strong Louisiana accent. However, he's very calm, collected and a consummate professional.

Bishop is the deputy director of Rainbow and the protagonist of ''Vegas 2''. Bishop's appearance, gender, and equipment of are all customizable.

* FrontlineGeneral: Despite being the deputy director of Rainbow, Bishop actively partakes in operations and even leads potential Rainbow candidates in on-the-job training.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: After the nearly-botched prologue mission that got a hostage negotiator killed, Bishop defended Gabriel from being kicked off of Rainbow for causing it. [[spoiler: This lets Gabe stay in the prime position for his [[EvilIsPetty self-vindicating revenge]] by playing Rainbow and Mexican terrorists against eachother to his advantage, and personally targeting Bishop for, as Gabriel claims, ''[[UngratefulBastard "trying to manipulate and control him"]]''.]] Given that no one could've seen that one coming, no one holds Bishop to blame for it.

Knight is the co-op player character in ''Vegas 2''. Like Bishop, Knight's appearance can be customized by the player, though he does not play a role in the story.

Starting out as a member of a U.S Army light infantry battalion, Ding was a part of the ill-fated [[Literature/ClearAndPresentDanger Operation RECIPROCITY,]] and left to die in Colombia. It was there that he met John Clark, who saved his life. The two eventually became best friends, and later, "Ding" became Clark's son-in-law. He co-founded Rainbow and served as a counter-terrorism operative until he was later appointed director after John's retirement.

* BadassGrandpa: An actual grandfather. By the time he retires as Rainbow's Director in 2010, he's pushing seventy.

* NewMeat: Alongside Logan three years prior in the prologue mission of ''Vegas 2'', where Bishop is walking them through their first live operation. While Logan answers by the book, Gabriel is borderline HotBlooded and reckless, which nearly botches the entire operation for all of them.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: While Gabriel feels pretty torn about his fucking up the prologue mission, he starts getting a sort of irritable paranoia when he has to defuse a bomb shortly after. And the moment he's downed by an ambush as soon as he's done, [[FreakOut he starts screaming at Bishop]] about how they clearly set him up. [[spoiler: Three years later and Gabriel is the real BigBad that tried to kill off Rainbow out of some mad, paranoid insanity about how [[NeverMyFault they denied him a rightful promotion]] and that Bishop was just manipulating him.]]

** Indeed, his death seems to have impacted the terrorists by a great deal, so much that they'll shout his name in combat. It's possible his death increased the terrorists' attacks on Vegas.

* WhatMeasureIsAMook: Marcelo is a well-known terrorist. When Alpha Team confronts Irena, she tells them that killing him was [[NotQuiteTheWrongThing a bad idea]]:
