* BigScrewedUpFamily: Even before the Tragedy of Sabrier, their required LawfulNeutral position lead them to do some pretty messed up things for the sake of [[WellIntentionedExtremist keeping the world balanced and orderly]], including locking up and killing their own family members because an [[HumanoidAbomination old lady]] who lived in their basement told them to.

* HairDecorations : Before the Tragedy of Sablier, she wore a ribbon tying her hair back. In the present, she sometimes wears a flower in her hair.

* AloofBigBrother: While he did care a lot about his younger sister Lacie, he kept his distance from her as he did with everyone else because he knew he would have to kill her when he inherited Glen's name. After his own death, Oswald contemplates how he could have been a better brother and tried to save Lacie's life by asking Jack to run away with her, but Oswald placed his responsibilities as Glen above his fraternal love for Lacie.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: As Glen pointed out, she was really the cause of the whole Tragedy of Sablier; she met Jack and he went crazy for her, she gave to the core of Abyss the stuffed rabbits which became Oz the B-Rabbit, she's the mother of Alice, the instrument Jack used to orchestrate the tragedy, and the poor girl was just trying to live her short life at her fullest and trying to make something to made some people happy.

* BrokenBird: Subverted. She seems to have a practical and bitter outlook on life due being told from a young age that she would die, but Retrace LXXII reveals that she genuinely loves the world because she was able to see its darkness as well as its beauty.

* PurpleIsPowerful: A purple-eyed man who controls ''five'' incredibly powerful Chains and is in charge of protecting the Abyss.

* HeroicSacrifice: When Break is about to kill Lily with Mad Hatter, Fang pushes her out of the way and takes the blade instead. Unfortunately, it costs him his life, [[{{Tearjerker}} and Lily and Lottie are devastated.]]

* AntiVillain: On top of being the most polite and level-headed, he's the least inclined to kill, considering how he questioned Glen for the order to slaughter the people of sablier. Then again, killings aside, it has already been established that the Baskervilles aren't really villains to begin with.

* FriendlyEnemy: Despite Leim being a member of Pandora, Lily decides to not hurt Reim his Chain has no combat abilities and makes an honest attempt to befriend him. Even after Reim shoots her in the head, she doesn't seriously try to kill him and even looks genuinely happy when he shows up alive after his FauxDeath.

* KidWithTheLeash: She controls a chain called Bandersnatch whose killing tendencies she is sometimes unable to control. Bonus points for the chain actually being a [[SavageWolves montrous-looking dog]].

* CruelMercy: During the Tragedy of Sablier, Miranda was the only non-Baskerville whose life he spared because he deemed that such an evil woman didn't deserve to enter the reincarnation cycle. By leaving her alive when Sablier fell own to the Abyss, Miranda mutated into a Chain.

* FreakinessShame: The people of her hometown branded her face with the red mark of the devil. When Lily joined the Baskerville clan, Fang and Doug thought Lily's face tattoo looked cool and even gave themselves the same tattoo.

* ExposedToTheElements: The day she met Jack, Lacie was wearing a summer dress and no shoes on a snowy day. She even told Jack he should be asking her why she was so undressed for cold weather. Years later, Lacie explained that she got out into the snow dressed like that so Oswald would feel guilty if she caught a cold because she was angry with him for letting her win at chess.

* AloofBigBrother: To Lacie.

** When he realized Jack was the one attempting to plunge the world into the Abyss, he began screaming at Jack to stop and ''crying.''

* CoolUncle: While he didn't get along with Alyss, his niece Alice adored him so much that she named her beloved stuffed rabbit after him.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Levi, seemingly, as Oswald was Levi's attendant before the former became Glen. Oswald also seem to feed Levi information pertaining to nobles that attended Baskerville banquets and balls. As the Glen candidate, he was always by Levi's side.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Becomes disturbingly similar to Jack in his obsession with setting right what Jack did wrong.

* ItsAllMyFault: He blames himself for Lacie being a Child of Ill Omen and believes that the Tragedy of Sablier was "undoubtedly caused by his naivete."

* KillTheOnesYouLove: As part of his role as Glen, he had to send his beloved sister Lacie to the Abyss. Later, he plans to travel back in time and kill her younger self so that the Tragedy of Sabliér never happens, but in the end he realizes he can't do it.

* CommonalityConnection: With Vincent. They sympathized with each other because both were treated like aberrations by other people. Noise came to share Vincent's idea that if two "weird" people are together, then they wouldn't be "weird" anymore.

* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: When Echo severs Duldee's influence over her, Noise realizes that she only ever wanted to protect Vincent as a sister, but failed. She sees Ada comforting him and sees he's finally found someone who can help him be happy, allowing Noise to pass on in peace.

* OlderThanSheLooks: She was alive before the Tragedy of Sablier, making her over 100 years old. She still looks like a young girl because the Baskervilles have a much longer lifespan.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Duldee is the main source of her power and psychotic behavior.
* {{Yandere}}: She will kill anyone who gets in her way of having Vincent for herself, be it Ada or Vincent himself. Subverted because Noise was only acting like that because of Duldee's influence.

* BiTheWay: She was ''way'' too comfortable poisoning Ada through mouth-to-mouth. It's worth noting that this scene is unique to the anime.

* WomanInWhite: When she met Jack, she was wearing a white sundress.

* SubmissiveBadass: He may well be the most dangerous Baskerville aside from Glen, yet he always looks to Lottie for his cues.

* SugarAndIcePersonality: As stoic and aloof as he might be, he had a minor soft spot for Gilbert back when they were master and servant, not to mention a very clear soft spot for his dear sister Lacie. Unfortunately, he had a soft spot for Jack, who ''was'' his best friend, as well. That last example [[{{Understatement}} didn't end well for him.]]

* ObliviousToLove: Oswald is completely clueless about the affections of Lottie and Miranda Barma. While the latter may be excusable since she was obsessed with [[CollectorOfTheStrange collecting her]] [[NightmareFetishist crushes' heads]] and only moved in the shadows so as to secretly secure her prey, the former was [[LuminescentBlush extremely obvious.]]

* ObliviousToLove: Oswald is a little too clueless about Miranda Barma's and Lottie's attentions...

* JapanesePronouns: Watashi.

* DarkIsNotEvil: The Baskervilles are strongly associated with [[EldritchLocation the Abyss]], which is populated by [[HumanoidAbomiation vari]][[AnimalisticAbomination ous]] [[EldritchAbomination abominations]]. However, they -as a whole- aren't a malicious organization, and actually try to protect the world from the dangers of the Abyss. They aren't precisely ''good'' people, but they're far from evil.

* BigScrewedUpFamily: Even during their peaceful golden years their required LawfulNeutral position lead them to do some pretty messed up things for the sake of [[WellIntentionedExtremist keeping the world balanced and orderly]], including locking up and killing their own family members because an old lady EldritchAbomination who lived in their basement told them to.
* TheChosenMany: The reason why they're Baskervilles is not because of blood ties but rather because of being chosen by the lights of the Abyss, later revealed to be sent by the Jury.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Many of them, namely Fang, Doug, and possibly Lottie, really aren't that bad, except for the fact that they're unflinchingly loyal to the BigBad. And then it turns out that they didn't serve the the BigBad, but were each a HeroAntagonist all along.
** Moreso morally gray antagonist. Though some of their early actions can be sympathized with, many of them get to a point where their actions are hardly anymore justifiable than Jack's.
* FiveBadBand: The five named Baskervilles (sans [[PosthumousCharacter Lacie]]) form one of these, although there are more Baskervilles than just the five of them.
** BigBad: Glen/Oswald Baskerville. Zigzagged later and ultimately averted; Oswald was not the one who started the Tragedy but had [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope jumped so far off the Slippery Slope]] anyways that he stays an antagonist up until his final chapter (just a more sympathetic one).
** TheDragon: Lottie -- Though Glen seems to place quite a bit of trust in potentially useful non-Baskervilles (namely Rufus Barma, Vincent Nightray, and Xai Vessalius), Lottie seems to be just below him in the Baskervilles' internal hierarchy.
** TheEvilGenius: Fang -- Though more of a GeniusBruiser than a MadScientist, he seems to be the most intelligent one of his companions, and from what little we've seen of him, he's a capable tactician.
** TheBrute: Doug -- While he breaks the stereotype by possessing intelligence and lacking a cruel streak, he doesn't seem to have much authority in the Baskervilles and seems to be more Lottie's bodyguard than anything.
** TheDarkChick: Lily
* HeroAntagonist: Zigzagged. They start out the story as menacing assassins, but their actions are given more sympathetic explanations halfway through the story. However, despite their initially noble cause, they're willing to do some seriously shady things to get what they want and don't often care for the human lives it will cost. This becomes important in the climax, where when choosing between Jack's and Oswald's options of how to deal with TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt, the protagonists TakeAThirdOption, as both Jack's and Oswald's are equally unacceptable to them.

* ItsAllMyFault: He blames himself for Lacie being a Child of Ill Omen.

* BiTheWay: Anime only, she was waaaay too comfortable with poisoning Ada.

* BoobsOfSteel: Though they're often hidden by her cloak, she's got huge tits. She's also quite the badass and one of the highest ranking Baskervilles, if not actually Glen's NumberTwo.

* GenkiGirl: At a certain point, according to what we've seen of her young adult life. This wears away as she gets older as her loneliness and [[YourDaysAreNumbered imminent fate]] catch up to her. It's worth noting that although she certainly did have a GenkiGirl attitude during her young adult life, she was also disturbing and oddly philosophical at the time.
