* FateWorseThanDeath[=/=]FridgeHorror : So Yamato was abducted as a child and experimented upon by a creepy snake-themed MadScientist. He survives, goes on to become a fairly well-adjusted adult, only to be ultimately abducted yet again by another creepy snake-themed MadScientist (the protege of the first one, no less!). Oh and then it is strongly implied that after having vital information [[MindRape forcibly extracted]] from him, he will be used for endless experimentation again.

* ActionGirl: Works towards this in Part I and becomes this with a vengeance in Part II. Despite her marginilization, when she does get in a fight she easily holds her own against powerful opponents.
** FauxActionGirl: Zig-Zags. While praised by Kakashi at the beginning for being (slightly) above average, she realized during the Chunin Exams and after how much better her competition was. Over the TimeSkip she trained under a Sannin like Naruto and Sasuke and had an impressive showing alongside Chiyo against Sasori, only for Naruto and Sasuke to win the SuperpowerLottery shortly afterwards and completely overshadow her and everyone else. She still has her moments, though. [[spoiler:During the Ten-Tails arc, she finally gets to step back up to the front line when she reveals that she mastered the White Strength Seal (Byakugou no In), having only recently gathered enough chakra to use it and then proceeds to wreck some {{Mooks}} before a pair catch her by surprise and Naruto and Sasuke save her and she returns to the sidelines.]]

* [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]]: Sakura has shown this if desperate enough, she can manipulate people. It should be noted, she doesn't enjoy it at all.

* PoisonedWeapons: Thanks to [[MasterPoisoner Shizune's]] tutelage she has acquired some poisonous weapons and KnockoutGas as well.

* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim:[[spoiler: Invoked by Sasuke out of all people, he bluntly states he has no interest in her and sees no reason why she should have feelings for him in the first place.]]

** BrokenAce: Never quite got over Obito's death in the Kakashi Gaiden, which in turn showed that his father's disgrace and suicide still took a heavy toll on him some seven years after. Justified, since these took place when he was thirteen and six, respectively, in a verse where ThereAreNoTherapists. Not to mention what happened to poor Rin right before his eyes... [[spoiler:and at his own hands]]

** MadeOfIron: An ordeal, during which, what Kakashi perceived as approximately one minute and forty-eight seconds (counting the time indicator from "I will stab you with a sword for 72 hours" to "71 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds remaining" was only one second. Meaning that the "three days" Kakashi experienced was, to him, closer to about '''[[OneHundredAndEight one hundred and eight]]''' days. Even he was released from the genjutsu, he doesn't immediately pass out. He stays conscious long enough to realize how little time actually passed, and to hear Kisame express surprise that Kakashi is ''still alive''. Mentally MadeOfIron? You bet your ass.

And because Obito was also host to the Ten-Tails, he gets Ridoku's power as part of the deal so his attacks aren't instantly absorbed.]]

** BoringYetPractical: His fighting style tends to be this, which is part of why he's overshadowed so much. His summons are a perfect example. Most ninja call up a giant animal to fight for them, Kakashi has a pack of hunting hounds.

Kakashi, for reasons that are at first unknown, has a Sharingan in his left eye, despite not being of the Uchiha (In a Gaiden {{prequel}} story, the eye was revealed to have been transplanted from his deceased friend Obito Uchiha, one of Sasuke's relatives). Kakashi has mastered its use about as well as a non-Uchiha can, picking up the epithet "Copy Ninja". He knows dozens of techniques and uses them, but his ''only'' unique jutsu is the Chidori (and its upgraded form, Raikiri), which electrifies his arm, allowing it to punch through anything. He learned the Rasengan from his former sensei, the Fourth Hokage.

* BrokenAesop: He believes in [[ScrewTheRulesIMDoingWhatsRight abandoning the rules if a comrade is in danger]] and yet because of this philosophy. [[spoiler:His entire team dies and one becomes the BigBad]].

** BadassBookworm: She is just as skill a Medical Ninja as her master, which takes great understanding of the human body.

* CombatPragmatist: Her entire fighting style is this. Her punches may not be the most flashy, but one hit and you're mist. And even then she [[spoiler:adds poison to her weapons and is willing to play dead to catch opponents off guard.]]

** ExtremeDoormat: In Part I towards Sasuke. Not all the time, but it gets more pronounced as his behavior gets worse, and because she was a 12-13 year old deeply in love at the time, probably had no idea what to do about it.

Here, she makes up her own plan for dealing with Sasuke, knocks out her teammates to prevent them from interfering with it, and generally tries to deal with Sasuke all on her own, and comes very close to dying twice, as a result of it. Though to be fair, Sai kinda guilted her into it.

* ADayInTheLimelight: Subverted. ''Kakashi Gaiden'' appeared to be this when it came out, going into his backstory and explaining his personality and Sharingan. Looking at the series as a whole, it's clearly ''really'' about establishing Obito, who would go on to have a massive impact on the plot. Played straight for Kakashi with an anime {{Filler}} section, which was an mutli-episode flashback that went into his life between him [[spoiler: killing Rin]] and the start of the main series.

[[spoiler:In the War arc she's more than willing to admit to her uselessness but still resolves to help Naruto and Sasuke in any way she can, resulting in her charging Madara (who by this point is stronger than the Sage of Six Paths) head-on in order to provide a distraction for Naruto and Sasuke.]] Compare the Bridge arc where she just stood there watching Naruto and Sasuke fight Haku and Kakashi fight Zabuza.
