* MsFanservice: Downplayed due to the all-ages nature of the franchise, but still present. The three have slow, slinky movements, including a ''lot'' of swinging of their hips; they have melodious voices, and alluring gazes. When telling the group about them, Twilight specifically mentions the legends said the three were beautiful. Being sirens, it all comes with the territory as part of their allure.

* TheHero: Arguably for ''Rainbow Rocks''. She has a large amount of focus throughout the movie even by the time Twilight returns to Canterlot High, the relation between her and the Dazzlings reaches to a more personal level, and she has character development that ultimately contributes to saving the day.

* TheDividual: Are essentially one character storywise, and never seen apart.

* EvilLaugh: Downplayed, but Adagio indulges in one at the end of the "Under Our Spell" song. Sonata and Aria ''try'' one earlier, at the gym before the pre-selections, but they just sound like giggling schoolgirls.

* MulticoloredHair: All three of them. Adagio has orange and yellow hair; Aria purple and aqua green; Sonata pale blue and dark blue.

* [[OpportunisticBastard Opportunistic Bitch]]: They're (well, mostly just Adagio) quite good at taking advantage of every opportunity they encounter to further their plans.

* GenderBlenderName: Although very feminine herself, Adagio's name is more masculine compared to the other two, since all three are derived from Italian, where masculine words end with an "-o" and feminine words end with an "-a".

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Adagio caresses other students' faces and heads as she's "seducing" them into making the concert into a battle.

* SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer: The teasers and tailers for ''Rainbow Rocks'' show her plenty enough, but the posters and covers for the various [=DVDs=] and music album leave her out even though she plays a major role.

* SpannerInTheWorks: [[spoiler:Let's face it, ''she's'' the main reason the Dazzlings lost due to the fact that they thought nothing of her. It's her that helps rally (albeit with help from Spike and DJ Pon-3, but still) the Humane Six to combat them and her that gives the band their HeroicSecondWind when the Dazzlings nearly overpowered the heroes in the final battle.]]
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler:Sunset herself, while still a nasty person, still had standards and outright refused to harm Spike. Her demon form, however, is a murderous psychopath who tries to fry Twilight and her friends without a second thought. Sunset's HeelFaceTurn is brought about largely because of how ''horrified'' she is of what she had become (she's actually crying during the transformation).]]

* LimitedWardrobe: Their everyday clothes for both movies and the shorts are always the same. However, we see them in plenty other outfits, including formal dresses (at the Fall Formal), hula dancer outfits (in "Shake Your Tail!"), nightwears (for the slumber party) and two different sets of costumes for performing as the Rainbooms. Rarity herself leans toward UnlimitedWardrobe with the various extravagant clothes she's seen wearing at one time or the other.

* SigilSpam: Sort of. As humans they don't have cutie marks on their skin (for what we can tell), but those symbols of their pony alternate selves can be found everywhere on their possessions: clothes, boots, hair decs, schoolbags, nightwears, musical instruments, laptops, etc. We've only seen Pinkie Pie's bedroom so far, and unsurprisingly there are balloon motifs on the walls and on her bedcover. (She also seems to have hearts as a secondary motif, like on the pajamas she lends to Twilight.)

* SuddenAnatomy: A minor case; the art style normally doesn't depict the characters as having nails, but that doesn't stop Rarity from putting nail polish on herself in a scene of ''Equestria Girls'', and on Fluttershy in a scene of ''Rainbow Rocks''.

* SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan: Whatever they ''actually'' are, they were banished to the other world specifically because it sealed their true power which would otherwise wreak havoc in Equestria. The plan was their powers wouldn't work at all, but unfortunately not.

* BreakingSpeech: Adagio and Aria try to do this with Sunset, pointing out that none of the Rainbooms want her in the band, and imply that they're worried her unpopularity will make her a liability. They also deliberately remind Sunset of her past actions, stating that their plan's aren't so different.

** In the sequel they're quite vicious to Sunset Shimmer and instantly turn on the Dazzlings when they're defeated.

* VillainHasAPoint: In the film's commentary, the creators note that the thing about their cafeteria songs is that their message is ''right'': people who are talented and special ''do'' deserve recognition and should take pride in who they are for it, and there's nothing wrong with friendly competition. You want to disagree with them because they're just doing it to spread hostility and aggression, but the core message of the song isn't wrong.

* CompressedHair: The first time we see them, [[http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/File:The_Dazzlings_vocalizing_in_the_corner_booth_EG2.png they're wearing hoodies]]; do not ask how those incredible hairstyles fit into those small hoods.

* EasilyForgiven: Zigzagged in ''Rainbow Rocks''. On the one hand the Human Five have genuinely forgiven her and accepted her as a friend after seeing that she really has changed and wants to redeem herself, but the rest of the school still clearly hates her and even the Cutie Mark Crusaders seem nervous when she approaches them. However, in the first film Sunset stole a powerful magical element from another dimension and used its power to [[spoiler:transform into a demon and try to brainwash the students into an army to conquer Equestria]]. The rest of the school may not have forgiven her for it, but it remains that she's gotten off very light after what she did.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: She's on-screen for less than thirty seconds in a post-credits scene. [[spoiler:But everything her appearance implies is summed up during that time.]]

* InformedAttractiveness: Twilight says that the legends spoke of the Sirens being beautiful. While their human forms might count, their Equestrian forms are rather monstrous. Even by that world's standards, "beautiful" is not the word that comes to mind. This could be a JustifiedTrope though: since the Sirens want to be loved and worshipped, their music presumably makes onlookers perceive them as beautiful.

* NearVillainVictory: [[spoiler:By the end, they have the entire school under their control and bickering amongst each others and the Rainbooms fighting amongst each other with Twilight and Sunset looking on helplessly locked underneath the stage with no way out. Had not Spike and Vinyl Scratch freed the group and given them a sound system to fight back, the Dazzlings would have won.]]
