* MilesGloriousus: "Nelson the Stroke Virgin" has her take credit for Marion saving a drowning child. When another child fell into the Thames, however, she made absolutely no effort to rescue him - when push came to shove, she cared more about her looks than being an actual hero.

* AmbiguouslyBi: While he's had a few interactions with females, Marion's had his moments. The "circle stroke" with Nelson being the highlight.
** In "Vince and the Helpful Horse", he buys a Siamese (cat) bride, Koong-Yi from a pet shop, only to learn that Koong-Yi is a neutured male. He doesn't seem to mind too much, though.
* {{Catchphrase}}: He oftens states he knows something, only to admit the complete opposite as an aside to the viewer.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: A running gag is Kali not fully thinking her actions all the way through, leading to some unfortunate mishap:

** Her protest against the pigeon spikes in "Destiny the Infection Risk" involves her throwing herself onto them, and only afterwards does she realize that she's thereby fulfilling their exact purpose.
** "Kali the Genetic Engineer" has her convince Destiny to set Gary up with a prostitute as revenge for setting her up with Archie the stud dog. The plan backfires because Gary ''enjoys'' the encounter.
** The height of her impulsiveness is in "Kali and the Rickshaw Inferno", where she kills a rickshaw driver with an IED in retaliation for running over her birthday dinner. Almost immediately afterwards, she discovers the man had a wife and child, leading to [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone a slide into guilt-riddled depression]].

* FatalFlaw: Kali's vengeful streak. She tends to go into her plans half-cocked, which causes complications later down the line (see DidNotTHinkThisThrough above).

* FatalFlaw: Pride, naturally. When Destiny ''does'' get the attention she craves, it goes to her head and causes her to make mistakes that undermine whatever positive validation she gets.

* AbusiveParents: Downplayed - Marion just has ''no'' experience as a parent at all. When he finally meets his estranged son, he gives him no end of well-intentioned but terrible advice.

* CivilizedAnimal: Nelson tries to be this, showing interest in human activities such as shopping, fashion and fine dining.

* GoldDigger: In the episode "Nelson and the Human", Destiny marries an old, mean-spirited, and half-blind dog for his squeaky toy pig.

* ItsAllAboutMe: It’s literally in her title (Canis self-absorbedbitchicus)! Destiny is incredibly vain and selfish, and shows no interest in anything that isn't to do with her or her potential celebrity status.

* TheNoseKnows: Her sense of smell is so good, she can tell if someone watches snooker just by sniffing their bottom. Apparently, all dogs can do this.
