* Mrs.Robinson: She falls for Tobia, who is the same age as her step daughter.

* ActionGirl: Not so much a fighter, but she is a master at stowing away in places she's not supposed to be. As time goes on, she even gets some Mobile Suit piloting experience herself.

* PluckyGirl: She starts off as one.

* ActionGirl: She still has shades of this, going back to ''F91.''

* BadassGrandpa: He's pretty much the only ''Gundam'' protagonist from the earlier UC-era shows seen to actually survive into the UC 0130s and even into the Zanscare conflict.

* ActionGirl: Like her mother before her, she has a habit of stowing away and sneaking around where she isn't supposed to be. She's not much of a fighter, but she is brave when faced with danger.

* AcePilot: Being a Newtype helps, but he also has a penchant for off-the-wall tactics that few of his enemies see coming.

* BiggerBad: Closest thing the series has at the moment. He's the one Quo Gray is directly bargaining with.

* DangerouslyGenreSavvy: He's familiar enough with the usual ''Gundam'' conventions to either subvert or avoid them if the opportunity arises.

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Her exact age is not revealed, though she certainly appears to be in her twenties. If true, this would make her only ten years older than her stepdaughter.

* FragileSpeedster: Her Abijo is lightning-quick, outpacing all the others, but has very weak attacks and has a difficult time fighting on its own.

An old, mysterious Jovian trader who runs his own ''Jupitris''-class vessel and owns a beat-up looking mobile suit called the Gump. He meets Tobia in order to help him stop Jovian extremists from exploiting Amuro Ray's combat data in ''Skull Heart.'' It's also revealed however that he and the Gump [[MobileSuitGundamZZ have seen their share of adventures]]. He also reappears in a ''Victory Gundam'' sidestory alongside Usso Evin.

* BreakOutTheMuseumPiece: His Zaku II, which he has to continue using since there are no spare mobile suits for him.

* GenreSavvy: He's familiar enough with the usual ''Gundam'' conventions to either subvert or avoid them if the opportunity arises.

* UndyingLoyalty‎: Subverted. While he does profess fealty to Berah/Cecily, it's only insofar as she continued to uphold his ideal for aristocracy.

* BiggerBad: Of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamF91'', since he funded Cosmo Babylonia. His philosophies also inspired the Big Bads of the ''Crossbone'' sequels and even Fonse Kagatie (who may or may not be related to him) from ''Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam''. in short, his influence dominates the late UC era much like Zeon did in the earlier UC shows.

* BeenThereShapedHistory: His involvement in the Battle of Solomon is the reason the Zeong was so large[[note]]Zeon engineers saw a giant Gundam head, thought the Federation had developed a giant Gundam, and scaled up the Zeong to match[[/note] and why Amuro Ray never ran into Anavel Gato[[note]]Gato heard that the Gundam's head was floating around, assumed it had been destroyed, and left his post to press the attack, which let Amuro slip past[[/note]].
** UnreliableNarrator: Maybe. Umon himself appends both of these pieces of information with "This is just a rumor I heard, but..."

* BiggerBad: Of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamF91'', since he funded Cosmo Babylonia. His philosophies also inspired the Big Bads of the ''Crossbone'' sequels and even Fonse Kagatie (who may or may not be related to him) from ''Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam''... in short, his influence dominates the late UC era much like Zeon did in the earlier UC shows.
* CrazyPrepared: The mere fact that he essentially had ''backup copies of his mind'' made in bio-computers (which also control lookalike androids) on the off-chance that someone or something would kill him. Not to mention having said copies have versions of his own Mobile Armor, the Divinidad...which itself has a payload of several nukes.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Her vision of a Newtype aristocracy is very similar to the supposed ideals of the Zanscare Empire from ''Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam.''

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She ordered the Vanguard to practice NonLethalCombat against the Jovians; however, it's a wasted effort since the Jovians execute the [=POWs=] as punishment for wasting resources. In order to keep from stressing her even further (and possibly [[BreakTheCutie breaking her]]), the rest of the crew hides this information from her.

* WeaponOfChoice: The shot lancer, notable since he's the only member of the Vanguard to use that weapon.

* BeenThereShapedHistory: His involvement in the One Year War led to him unwittingly driving off Anavel Gato from his post.
