* FantasticRacism: He views the krogan as dangerous brutes that should never have been allowed into the Initiative. This led to all of the krogan save Kesh deserting the Initiative in retaliation for a reneged deal to give the krogan more political authority in exchange for their help quashing the Nexus uprising. While Tann wasn't the one who made this deal, he was against it, as he believed the krogan would ruin the Initiative if they did.
** He also seems to have a bit of a condescending attitude toward the angara and a very colonialist attitude in general. During a conversation with an angaran diplomat, the diplomat asks what the Initiative can offer the angaran people and Tann responds with "knowledge and wisdom". The diplomat immediately fires back they have plenty of that already. * AllGirlsWantBadBoys: According to the story Scott was told about how Alec and Ellen met, Alec put on the N7 bad boy act, which worked like a charm. The virtual intelligence tour guide first encountered aboard the Citadel in the Original Trilogy. Avina is installed aboard the Nexus as part of the Andromeda Initiative and can be accessed on terminals throughout the ship. As with its Milky Way counterpart, the virtual intelligence is designed to answer questions and provide guidance and insight on current events. With a limited capacity for discourse, Avina is more suited to offering information rather than opinions.

* AdaptationalModesty: This new iteration of Avina appears dressed in military workman uniform. Whereas she first appeared in ''very'' form fitting attire, to the point of BarbieDollAnatomy.
* BlueSkinnedSpaceBabe: Not her, specifically, but she is a virtual intelligence with a holographic interface that was built to resemble an asari. Who ''do'' happen to be a race of blue skinned space babes.
* CallBack: Yes, it's ''that'' Avina from the Citadel from the original trilogy.

* GrandTheftMe: During the "Firefighters" sidemission she gets hijacked by an anti-AI hacker to serve as his "sock puppet" to covertly contact Ryder.
