** In a scene that was partly implemented but eventually cut from the game, Julia could have been eaten by a shark during the dive at the very beginning after cutting her knee on the shard of metal (the latter accident can still happen in the released game, but has no significant consequences). However, this was left out of the final release, presumably because it would make no sense for the other four to just carry on with their trip if Julia had already died horribly before the main plot even kicks in.

* DropTheHammer: Spends most of the game wielding a large sledgehammer.

* TerrifyingRescuer: He sees the B-29 bomber plane as this due to the release of Manchurian Gold, causing him to shoot down the plane with the ship's anti-aircraft guns.

This is a bit strange since Olson and his crew obviously let the group put their normal clothes on after capturing them, with Alex and Julia putting their shoes on, so Fliss seems to play this trope straight as it really does seem that she'd rather go without them.

* HeelFaceTurn: In a possible encounter that was added in September 2022, Olson - after fighting and being spared by two of the protagonists while part of the ship burns - is persuaded by Junior to leave the ship. Sadly, Olson gets a Manchurian Gold-induced heart attack shortly afterwards.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Spends most of his early screen time on the ''Duke of Milan'' slacking, drinking and flirting with Fliss. His bold and arrogant side is demonstrated as he constantly [[spoiler:[[EveryManHasHisPrice throws cash at Olson and his men]], making the protagonists as targets for the latter, thinking they are wealthy]].

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: He flaunts his wealth to the pirates at the beginning of the game, making them prime targets.

* ActionSurvivor: She's definitely not as skilled in fighting as Fliss, but she can possibly be the one who wins the boss fight against Olson in the ending.
