Small, Roomba-like robots with unknown purposes for most of the story. One of them starts following Wakaba in Episode 5 and becomes part of the main group for the remaining part of the season.
The Shiros are, in fact, the pre-infection forms of the [[{{Mooks}} Red Bugs]], being capable of combining themselves into bigger and more powerful robots. Later on the season, it's revealed that the Shiros were part of the ship's crew employed by the original [[HumanAliens Wakaba]] on his mission of copying Earth with Kemurikusa, but were abandoned and left with nothing to do after [[HeroicSacrifice Wakaba's death]] and [[BigBad the Red Tree]]'s takeover.
* {{Expy}}: People were quick to note the Shiros' similarities with the [[Anime/KemonoFriends Lucky Beasts]], being small, helpful robots who serve as guides for the main group thanks to their knowledge of the world they're in. These similarities were proven further with the revelation that the Shiros used to be workers of the ship, just like Lucky Beasts are workers of Japari Park.
* HelpfulMook: Not exactly {{Mooks}} since they haven't been infected by [[TheVirus the red fog]], but it still applies. The Shiro who is always following Wakaba serves as their guide during most of the season, giving helpful insights [[AfterTheEnd about the world they're in]] and providing the main group with maps of the Islands which are useful for traveling while evading the Red Tree's harmful roots.
* HeroicSacrifice: The Shiros encountered Episode 8 who, after combining into a HumongousMecha, use their last bits of strength by destroying one of the Red Tree's roots which was blocking the path, allowing them to do one last task before perishing.
* HumongousMecha: The Shiros can combine themselves into bigger, more powerful robots with incredible abilities and endurance. Useful when they're trying to help the main group, [[OhCrap but when they get infected by the red fog...]]
* NativeGuide: They seem to be the only ones who know what's going on around them while also having vast knowledge about the Islands and the ship, hence why the Shiro following Wakaba becomes their main guide for a large part of the season.
* TheSpeechless: The Shiros are incapable of speaking, only emitting small, robot-like "bips" and writing words and emoticons on their screens (which only Wakaba can read).
