The most powerful of the so-called "surface ships", Battleships have the highest Health, Attack and Armor values in the game, and can equip the largest caliber guns available. In return for this however they are incapable of launching torpedos, and are especially vulnerable to dive bombers and -- barring Aviation Battleships, who can launch seaplane bombers and autogyros to counterattack -- submarine attacks. They ''also'' have the largest Maintenance costs in the game, and take ungodly amounts of time to repair if their Health dips to critical levels.

Kirishima is the brains of the group, while Kongou, despite being total utter wacky Cloudcuckoolander, is actually spot on when she says in Episode 9 that the admiral must have had a good reason for recalling Fubuki back to the Naval District. Whatever power that is used to transform the shikigami into planes is now around ther wrist of her bow-holding arm, represented as three energy torii. Whether or not she wanted to emulate her senpai (Zuikaku) is unclear.
* BuxomIsBetter: Averted. Unlike her two sisters and two cousins, she's flat; but she does compensate with [[HartmanHips gloriously-shaped hips]] instead, particularly in her Kai form. The reasoning for her small chest seems to be due to the fact that, unlike Unryuu and Amagi, she used leftover destroyer engines and turbines intended for ''Kagerou'' and ''Akizuki''-class [[note]]Amusingly, several of the ''Kagerou''-class destroyers such as Hamakaze, Urakaze and Hagikaze, and all of the ''Akizuki''-class destroyers included in the game thus far are significantly bustier than she is[[/note]], while her older sisters used cruisers engines and turbines leftovers from the ''Mogami''-class that gave them more horsepower and speed compared to her.
* BornLucky: Has the highest max luck out of the Unryuu sisters as she was the only completed ''Unryuu''-class carrier to survive the entire war. Despite the fact that she was completed at the very end of the war and, like Amagi, she was never used in active combat.
