Normally just an engineer and mechanic at the academy, Chik worked with Kemi's mother to develop the Scaravan. When Damballa was freed, he helped Zayn and consorts escape the academy and reluctantly joined them on their quest. He pilots and maintains the Scaravan, and generally complains a lot.

Zayn's mentor and a servant at the Academy, Agoji wasn't born with the Gift and always resented Arkanists who treated her like an inferior. She manipulated Zayn into freeing Damballa so she could enact her revenge. Agoji hails from the Gaomé tribe, who favoured Shadow Imagos before their magic was banned after the war against Damballa.

* DarkIsEvil: She uses darkness powers and is the series' BigBad.
* EvilMakeover: Agoji gives herself one at the end of the second episode.
* EvilMentor: to Zayn. She tricks him into freeing Damballa in the very first episode – although it seems she genuinely cared for him as well, seeing a lot of herself in him, and she proposes him to join her in her revenge.
* GreenEyedMonster: She always wanted an Imago, power and the respect Arkanists denied her. Now she'll get them whether they want it or not.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: she was a lowly staff member at the academy whom Arkanist barely even looked at, but her plan to free Dhamballa worked so well, she seized control of the palace in a few minutes and defeated all the most powerful Arkanists within it.
* HijackingCthulhu: she owns a staff that enables her to command Damballa. It's explicitly stated that had she not this artifact, Damballa would not be controlled by anyone.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: she wears mostly blakc clothes with purple highlights, and most of her spells are purple ore violet in colour.

The Primago of Shadows who was sealed in the Lamp of Isbanir centuries ago. She's free again, but forced to obey Agoji as long as the latter holds on the Scepter of the Moon.
