He wants to buy Grandma's shop, but he's not willing to go to any illegal lengths to acquire it, and gives Jake a fair chance to find Grandma before he signs the deal with Cousin Mel. Likewise, after everything said and done, he offers to turn Grandma's shop into a franchise.

He's also clearly enjoying the hell out of watching Mel squirm when all the evidence against her leaves her with no more ways out, and forces Mel to confess to everything she did.
