* TheFriendNobodyLikes: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] for two reasons. One, from the start the only person that seems to consider him a friend is Lamar, with Franklin clearly only trusting Stretch as far as he can throw him, and the rest of those that know him either sharing this distrust at best or deriding him at worst. The second reason is that it becomes apparent that Lamar's adoration for Stretch only goes as far as [[HeroWorshipper looking up to him as an "OG" gangster]], and that pedestal quickly starts to erode as the game goes on and it becomes apparent that Stretch is setting him and Franklin up, though Lamar does his damndest to deny it. [[spoiler:By the end of the game this trope is played straight no matter which option you choose: if you took Option A or B, Lamar calls Franklin and [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness admits that Franklin was right about Stretch]], before saying he has to go into hiding due to Stretch now ''actively'' trying to kill him. If you choose Option C, Lamar sides with Franklin and helps take Stretch out by giving them his location for Michael, demonstrating that he's finally realized that Stretch is no ally of his.]]

He expects them to go along with it without question; Franklin, of course, will have none of it, and Lamar, ever the optimist, simply dismissed the possibility of it coming to that.

*
TheDragon: To Weston. For Devin Weston. She always appears by his side when he appears, and gives out instructions on his behalf for the protagonists to follow, even if Weston himself isn't actually there.

* MsFanservice: Molly is always seen wearing a tight pair of pants which emphasize her nice round ass in many scenes. Given her hidden crush for her boss, one wonders if she's doing it on purpose to get her to notice him.
* NotSoStoic:
** Molly's cold-but-professional exterior cracks a bit when meeting up with Franklin after he performs the last repo job. Specifically, Franklin mocking her by claiming that Devin Weston is never going to fuck her no matter what she does causes her to [[IgnoredEnamoredUnderling angrily retort at him and promptly leave the scene in a hurry]].
** Later, when Molly learns that Michael is chasing her when she's leaving Solomon Richards' studio with the master reel, she becomes completely erratic, driving all over the LSS airstrip even while ''jumbo jets'' are landing on it. !Online
[[folder:The Doomsday Heist's Villain ('''Spoilers Unmarked!''')]]
!!Avon Hertz
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/avonhertz_gtao_portrait.png]]
A billionaire who made his money in the tech industry, he recruits the online protagonist alongside Lester, Agent 14 and Agent Rackman to help save San Andreas from an upcoming terror attack and prevent a regional war from taking place. He is the main villain of ''The Doomsday Heist'' update.
----
* AxCrazy: Easily one of the '''most''' deranged antagonists of the entire franchise. The fact that his plan involves ''committing large-scale genocide towards humanity'' cements this. The worst part is that he wants to do it willingly, with clear jovial glee.
* BigBad: Of ''The Doomsday Heist'', being the mastermind behind the nuclear war.
* BrickJoke: He constantly claims that his hair is completely natural. After he's blown out of the sky by an armed jetpack, Lester tells the Online Protagonist that all the forensics team could find of him were apparently his hair plugs.
* CloneArmy: Unleashes one after revealing his true intentions.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: He casually admits being good friends with Don Percival, having used Merryweather's services to help his business in developing economies since they know "who to bribe and who to kill".
* DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans: He wants to hack the USA's nuclear arsenal to trigger global thermonuclear war to commit planetary genocide so he can create a society where everything is privatized and the rich rule over the "peasants" with no hope for anyone to change their position in society. Unlike most cases, he describes this world without how he plans to get there ''before'' he's revealed as the BigBad. He also sees it as a {{Utopia}}.
* EvilWearsBlack: Wears loads of black, and is an omnicidal villain.
* FauxAffablyEvil: At first he seems polite and likable, if a bit full of himself. It's nothing but a mask-his true self is anything but likable.
* HatedByAll: Downplayed variant. With the exception of Cliffford, nobody likes Avon.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: He's blown to pieces by the same team of criminals he double-crossed, using some of his own jetpacks to pursue him and deal the killing blow.
* IgnoredEpiphany: Once Cliffford makes it clear that he wants to kill Avon himself, one would think he'd realize that his A.I. project was a mistake. Instead he has a VillainousBreakdown over Cliffford's "death" and spends the last few minutes of his life insulting the protagonists for doing the deed and trying to flee to ensure Cliffford can be restored from backup data.
* MeaningfulName: His last name Hertz is the derived unit of frequency in the International System of Units (SI) and is defined as one cycle per second. It is used not only for sound but also electricity, and considering the fact that he drives a Coil, the franchise's equivalent to the all-electric Tesla vehicles.
* MesACrowd: Has a personal army at hand, made up entirely of clones of himself.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Of Elon Musk. Not only is the name similar but Avon also drives a Coil, the GTA-verse's Tesla equivalent. Avon's [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial constant statements about the natural status of his hair]] also bring to mind Musk's unexplained restoration of his hairline.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: The whole point of having the protagonists root out Bogdan was so he can gain access to the United States defense grid and have Cliffford hack it.
* OmnicidalManiac: Unlike previous villains in the franchise, Avon and Cliffford try to ''commit genocide on the human race''.
* OutsideContextProblem: Once his true motives are revealed, he (and by extension Cliffford) turns out to be unlike any other GTA villain in the franchise. While there are a number of them that are as rich as him, none of them had the ambition or the audacity to commit genocide on the entire human race.
* PsychoPink: He's got a pink shirt, and he's a BigBad.
* TheSociopath: Classically so. Avon has the pride, egotism, [[OmnicidalManiac pathologically violent]] behavior, and a chameleon-like personality.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He's ''trying'' to appear charismatic and talented enough to justify his ego, but he's just a tool with more money than brainpower.
* StrawmanPolitical: He is constantly dismissing the IAA as "public sector idiots" and hopes that one day the U.S. will become a fully PrivatelyOwnedSociety. He also happily admits that the automation revolution he and Cliffford are bringing will reduce even white-collar professionals like doctors or lawyers to starving "peasants" banging on the walls of the fortresses of rich people like him.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: San Andreas in ''Online'' is far from ideal and is full of crime and corruption, but still has a pretty good and breathtaking surface. Avon Hertz? Definitely the most-vile villain in the entire franchise with little competition other than [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Donald Love]] from the ''[[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoIII III]]'' [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCity era]].
* VilerNewVillain: Most ''GTA'' villains are shady businessmen, corrupt authority figures, crime lords, or ambitious gangsters. Hertz one-ups every single one of them by being an OmnicidalManiac whose EvilPlan far overshadows everyone else's in terms of sheer scope.
* VillainousBreakdown: Suffers one once the online protagonist knocks Cliffford offline and aborts the nuke launch.
* WalkingSpoiler: As his villainy and role in ''The Doomsday Heist'' is secret, he qualifies.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: After the Online Protagonists end up giving him the ability to cause an actual doomsday, he sics his clone army after them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Doomsday Heist's Secondary Villain ('''Spoilers Unmarked!''')]]
!!Cliffford
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/clifford_gtao_portraitlogo.png]]

A self-aware A.I. program created by Avon. He's the secondary vilain of ''The Doomsday Heist''.
----
* BlandNameProduct: Of IBM's Watson, with some elements of A.I. assistants like Amazon Alexa.
* TheDragon: To Avon Hertz, his creator.
* DragonAscendant: Becomes this during the finale of Act III as the online protagonist storms the bunker within Mt Chiliad. Cliffford asserts himself over Avon as he tries to pull a WeCanRuleTogether with the protagonists during a VillainousBreakdown. Cliffford remains determined to destroy humanity, revealing he wants Avon dead too.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: For all he's done, he does care about Avon, even if he tried to kill him.
* AGodAmI: Views himself as this once he has control of the government's nuclear missiles and outright says it word for word as he is destroyed by the online protagonist via KillSat.
* HatedByAll: Everyone considers Cliffford to be a dick. Even Avon admits that he was a dick once he's killed!
* {{Jerkass}}: Everyone admits he's a dick.
* JobStealingRobot: Both Avon and Cliffford itself boast that the latter will be able to take over most jobs and leave most of the population destitute.
* KilledOffForReal: Gets his mobile cloud servers destroyed by the online protagonist with a KillSat and his original code is destroyed alongside Avon by a missile as he flees from the bunker.
* LaughablyEvil: For all he's done, he's hilarious due to constantly asking Avon childish questions.
* MeatSackRobot: {{Discussed}}: He gloats to the Online Protagonists during the final mission of Act III about his plan to obtain the means to grow a real brain and use it as his own.
* MechaMooks: Has an entire army of "Juggernauts" that are humanoid robots under his control that he uses on the online protagonist during Act III.
* MyNaymeIs: Cliffford is spelled with three F's rather than the normal two.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: In the finale of Act III, Cliffford claims to hack a door by keeping it shut. Lester manages to get Cliffford to open said door through SocialEngineering, allowing the players access to Avon's labs.
* OutsideContextProblem: Stands out in the world of GTA by being a sapient A.I.. Previous games had elements of sci-fi in them, but they were not part of the main plot like Cliffford is nor were they this explicit.
* WalkingSpoiler: His actual purpose and motives are big {{spoiler}}s for ''The Doomsday Heist''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Avery Duggan]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gta_duggan_6.png]]

A Texan petrochemical magnate who loaned the Triads the money to finish construction of the Diamond Casino and Resort. Duggan wants to take over the casino, demolish it, and redevelop the site by any means necessary. He's the main villain of ''The Diamond Casino and Resort''.
----
* BigBad: Of the ''Diamond Casino and Resort'' mission arc.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Avery is a wealthy investor who has businesses in San Andreas. He is also willing to use underhanded tactics [[spoiler:such as paying people to riot at the Diamond Casino]].
* {{Eagleland}}: Avery falls under this as a type 2. He made his wealth from oil, is an [[CorruptCorporateExecutive investor not shy of using subterfuge to achieve his goal]], and also judges cultures solely based on food.
* {{Expy}}: In-series, he is one to [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoViceCity Avery Carrington]]. Both are ruthless Texan businessmen who use shady tactics to drive down property values. [[spoiler:And [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoLibertyCityStories much like Carrington]], Duggan is assassinated by the protagonist on orders from his protege.]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: When he introduces himself to Tao and company, he starts off polite. However, after dismissing Thornton and Agatha, he shows his true cutthroat intentions to Tao.
-->'''Avery:''' ''(to Tao Cheng)'' Now, when I return, we will continue this conversation as gentlemen. On second thought, I ain't a gentleman. ''(to his goons)'' Shoot the bastards!
* LoanShark: He loaned the Triads the money to build the Diamond Resort and Casino. However, instead of just recovering the money, he wants to drive down the casino's value to acquire it for dirt cheap, demolish it, and redevelop the site for his own means.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Avery comes off as misogynistic, xenophobic, and racist. He's resentful toward Agatha's status as the casino manager, and tells Tao that he doesn't care about "how many ninjas he's got up his sleeve".

* BigBad: Of the Cayo Perico arc.

* CoolGuns: The Perico Pistol, a golden Luger that can be stolen from his office if the key is stolen from one of his guards found throughout Los Santos.
* CanonWelding: It could be a simple EasterEgg, but in his compound, you can find a picture of his German grandfather, that being Andreas of ''VideoGame/RedDeadRedemption2''.
* DisproportionateRetribution: He feeds one of his underlings, Gustavo, to a panther simply for "embarrassing" him in front of his guests.
* {{Expy}}: His status as a notorious drug lord who is infamous for his AxCrazy tendencies might evoke comparisons to [[Film/Scarface1983 Tony Montana]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: He comes across as friendly as a powerful kingpin could possibly be, but not much later, he's threatening ''Scott Storch'' of all people and feeding one of his employees to a panther.
* FunctionalAddict: Both he and his henchmen are confirmed by dialogue from both the PA system and Pavel that they're not above sampling their own products, but as the Online Protagonist finds out, it doesn't make them any less of an obstacle to deal with while ransacking Cayo Perico.
* LatinoIsBrown: Averted. He is blonde (which is where his alias comes from), light-skinned, and he mentions having a German grandfather.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: He's pretty blatantly inspired by [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Lehder Carlos Lehder]], a drug lord who similarly owned his own private island home to wild parties and his drug operation ([[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman%27s_Cay Norman's Cay]]), also sharing German ancestry.
* RedBaron: "El Rubio", which is Spanish for "The Blonde".
* SmugSnake: He's fairly confident in hunting down the protagonist ''after'' they've stolen his treasure.
* TheParanoiac: He becomes this after the Online Protagonist completes the heist several times. His goons note that he'll spend days in his panic room after robberies and he himself regularly voices his paranoia about the Online Protagonist's presence over the loudspeakers.
-->'''El Rubio:''' Paranoid? Hohoho, you motherfuckers... How many times have we been robbed? Hmm? Who's paranoid now?
* TheUnfought: He's built up as being the BigBad of the heist but isn't fought in it and, really, has no involvement at all beyond his introduction. The closest the player gets to engaging El Rubio is trying to avoid getting shot by him from his helicopter after stealing the primary target. This is presumably intentional on the Online Protagonist's part, as killing El Rubio would mean no more treasures to steal from Cayo Perico.
* UnexplainedRecovery: The player can use sticky bombs to destroy his helicopter while he's on it, and he'll be no worse off afterwards.
* VillainousBreakdown: After the player grabs what they came for the first time, he drops his usual FauxAffablyEvil self and angrily demands that their guards find and kill them. When the Online Protagonist eventually escapes, Pavel reveals that Strickler had a drug-fuelled mental breakdown afterwards in his panic room, complete with randomly shooting any suspected traitors or feeding them to the panther. By the time the player comes back to rob him a few more times, he's become downright deranged, his announcements consisting mostly of paranoid ramblings and graphic death threats to his men and the player alike.

[=WesLos=] Records' executive producer. He's had a beef with Dr. Dre ever since the '90s which has come to a head once he steals Dre's car and phone full of unreleased music while the latter tried attending a party in Cayo Perico.
----
%%zce* BigBad: Of the Contract arc.
* DirtyCoward: He becomes rather frightened and pleaful when he meets Dr. Dre face-to-face, despite previously sending hitmen to try and kill him.
* FourEyesZeroSoul: He wears glasses, and is a thoroughly unpleasant person.
* GolfClubbing: [[spoiler:He gets an undignified beatdown from Dre with one after telling him to "take [his] ass back to the golf course!"]]
* NoTrueScotsman: He insinuates that Dre has gone soft ever since he left the hood and became an entrepreneur. [[spoiler:This comes back to bite him in the ass once Dre, Franklin, and the Online Protagonist manage to unite the Families and Ballas to sabotage and corner him, earning him a humiliating beatdown with a golf club, the very thing Johnny mocked Dre for.]]
* UncertainDoom: The outcome of his beating by Dre is not shown.

* ArchEnemy:
** To Michael De Santa. As Steve forces Michael to do more of his dirty work, Michael's resentment of the man grows more and more. Meanwhile, Steve considers him to be a useful tool at best, making no secret that his hatred of Michael's is mutual. He even attempts to kill Michael later in the game, only backing off because Dave Norton insists that Trevor would be the only one actually considered to be a threat.
** To a lesser extent, he's also this to Trevor Phillips. When the two are forced to work together to torture a man for information, Trevor is utterly disgusted with Steve's selfishness, while Steve considers Trevor to be a freak and yet another one of his tools that he wants to discard once he's no longer useful. It's telling that Trevor ''immediately'' takes off to kill Steve himself once Lester reveals his location.

* LaserGuidedKarma: Near the end of the game, Steve pressures Franklin to kill Trevor Phillips on his behalf, due to him being a loose end that he needs cleaning up, but doesn't want to physically confront the man and get his hands dirty to do so. If Ending C is chosen, he ends up killed by the very man he wanted dead, without ever being aware that his life was in danger.

* ArchEnemy: To Trevor. [[spoiler:Ironically, to avoid Trevor getting fingered as a known associate, Franklin is the one to ultimately do him in.]]

* ArchEnemy: To Trevor. [[spoiler:Ironically, Trevor Phillips. As a rival business dealer, Wei Cheng becomes a fierce enemy to the man after he reneges on a business deal with him, only for Trevor to kill his new partners in retribution. From then on, Cheng attempts to kill Trevor in any way he can, including abducting Michael and threatening to kill him over the phone. Ironically, to avoid Trevor getting fingered as a known associate, Franklin is the one to ultimately do him in.]]in (though the fact that Cheng attempted to kill Michael makes it personal for Franklin in some regards).

* LaserGuidedKarma: Wei Cheng kidnaps Michael in an attempt to set up a confrontation with Trevor, only to be blown off due to the latter's hatred of Michael at the time. This results in Franklin not only performing a RoaringRampageOfRescue to save his mentor, but also killing the man himself in the Deathwish ending.

* UnknownRival: He's killed by Franklin Clinton near the end of the game, a man who Wei Cheng had little to no knowledge of.

* BullyingADragon: Though he didn't ''intend'' to do this (as he essentially invited himself to the dealing), Stretch ends up severely pissing off Trevor by attemptiing to trick Lamar and Franklin into buying a fake brick of cocaine, resulting in him listing him as a man that needs eliminating at the end of the game.

* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: [[spoiler:An optional objective in "The Third Way" is to kill Stretch with a melee attack.]]

Added DiffLines:

* OutsideContextProblem: Encounters one (albeit not in person) in the form of Trevor Phillips. During "Hood Safari", Trevor spontaneously decides to tag along with Lamar and Franklin on a mission Stretch sent them on, which results in him figuring out that the brick of cocaine being sold to them is fake, and that the deal is a trap. Later on, Trevor lists him as a loose end that needs cleaning up due to that experience, which results in Michael (who's also an example, given he's completely uninvolved with Franklin's gangbanging activities) going out to kill him.

* {{Trumplica}}: Devin Weston has a lot in common with American politician, media personality, businessman, and former U.S. President UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump before 2016.
