* BloodKnight: Scarlet was originally much more cold and aggressive back during the 1st Invasion compared to her much more relaxed and easygoing behavior in the modern day. This also made it difficult for her to get along with the rest of the Goddess Squad, especially since she was a relatively recent addition compared to the rest of its members.

* {{Foil}}: To Crow - both are [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver sinister red and black Nikkes]] with a penchant for violence and cynical views on mankind. Both are also antagonistic toward the Commander, but still show signs of niceness beneath their rough exteriors. Gaemplay-wise, though, Crow is a CloseRangeCombatant due to wielding submachine guns while Nihilister is a LongRangedFighter whose dragon-headed weapons are classified as sniper rifles. Crow is a defender focused on mitigating enemy damage while Nihilister is focused on obliterating opponents outright. Crow wants revenge against the ARk for their treatment of the Outer Rim while Nihilister just thinks HumansAreInsects and wants them wiped out. Most telling, though, is how they interact with the Commander - while Nihilister is extremely abrasive toward the Commander at first, her advise and bond lines indicate that his kindness is getting to her and starting to soften her views, while Crow's lines make it clear that even if the Commander is getting to her, she's not leaving the path she's set herself on. As a result, while the Commander invests significant time and effort into bonding with Nihilister, they eventually stop trying to bond with Crow [[spoiler:and come very close to killing her after much goading on her part]].

* SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains: {{Zigzagged|Trope}} - Nihilister is one of the two outright villainous characters in your Nikke roster, but even some of the nicer Nikkes have skimpy outfits. Nihilister is in the running for skimpiest, though, as her attire amounts to a bra, panties, and thigh-high socks.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Nihilister is ''not'' remorseful for what she has done as a Heretic, but nonetheless becomes playable once you have progressed far enough in the story and cleared her Investigation.

* FromZeroToHero: Scarlet began life as one of many mass-produced Nikkes in an experimental squad using melee weapons instead of firearms, becoming the lone survivor of the ''massive'' causality rates that came with bringing melee weapons to a war determined at range, continually honing her skills till she was recruited by Goddess Squad itself and became a LivingLegend by the present day. The Melee Squad was never very large, and the mass-produced Nikkes in the squad had significant modifications (to the point that the small size of the squad was due to them costing too much). The plan was always for one of them to become a Grimms Nikke, with the squad being sent into increasingly dangerous missions with the goal of turning the last member left into a Grimm model. The Squad was quite skilled, only losing a few members to Raptures before Scarlet's sister, [[TheAce Rose]], found out about the plan and killed all of their squadmates before forcing Scarlet to duel her to the death in order to ensure Scarlet would be the one to become a Grimms model]].

When she first got recruited by the Goddess Squad, they found her amidst the corpses of what seem to be her squad (it's unknown if they were corrupted or not) and it's implied that Scarlet killed them all. * FatalFlaw: If this entire page is to go by, moreso the tropes connected to her fellow Goddess Squad members, one can take ''nostalgia'' as Dorothy's biggest flaw. Her dream is to bring back the days before Nikkes were needed, she wants to reunite the Goddess Squad in spite of being as far gone as she is in the present day, and her attempts to bring back what she feels rightfully hers, be it the glory days of Goddess or the admiration she was denied, end up making things worse than helping. Dorothy chases the past instead of looking towards the future -- what was, instead of what could be.

This is Scarlet during the heyday of Goddess Squad, when her temperment was a lot sharper around the edges than in the present day. She was recruited into Goddess Squad after ending up the sole survivor of her squad of melee-specialized Nikkes, when she accepted a duel with Liliweiss and lost from getting punched once. This version of Scarlet became playable with the ''New Year, New Sword'' story event, where Scarlet tells the Commander of her backstory over a few cups of wine.
