But that's just prelude to when she solves McKinley's physical bullying problem in about fifteen minutes (for self-interested reasons, of course).

* TheBeard: One fan theory is that Santana's extreme jealousy whenever Puck is with anyone else is because her relationship with him is what keeps people from figuring out she [[BiTheWay also likes girls]].

* WordOfGay: Brad Falchuk has stated that Santana is indeed a lesbian, quelling the debate on whether or not she's bi; she realised it for the first time in "Sexy."

* BettyAndVeronica: An even more complicated case than Rachel as she has ''two'' potential love interests; Puck and Finn. In Finn’s case, she could be seen as both the Veronica (as she is the Libby in comparison to Rachel’s girl next door) or as the Betty (her Christian upbringing in comparison to Rachel’s control freak and overbearing personality). In Puck’s case she is firmly the Betty to Santana’s Veronica.

** Though the show plays with this trope: Santana doesn't exactly hide the fact that she and Brittany mess around behind closed doors. [[spoiler: But it's a horse of a different color to come out as gay, admit she has feelings for Brittany and start ''dating'' her.]]
** One of the other major reasons though is fear of bullying. To quote Santana herself: "I ''saw'' what they did to Kurt."

* TwoferTokenMinority: Originally just a regular one-type minority later upgraded to twofer status due to her lesbianism. What's interesting is that she's the only ethnic minority on the show whose race is incidental to her character (save for a couple throwaway lines in Spanish).

** Also, while some fans have speculated based on the events of "Sexy" that Santana is lesbian, rather than bisexual, Brittany's admission that [[spoiler: she has feelings for both Artie ''and'' Santana]] does make it clear she goes both ways.

Jealous because the isolation makes it that much harder to have a serious relationship.]]

* DepravedBisexual: A mild case, considering how mean she is to everyone and how she seems to delight in making people angry or upset. [[spoiler: Though her AnguishedDeclarationOfLove to Brittany makes it clear that at least ''some'' of this cruelty is due to being in the closet.]]
