* EnemyCivilWar: The two factions don't get along with each other and Marie is their mediator of sorts. [[spoiler:She's managed to get them to cooperate well, but tensions still exist between the two groups that Oarai is able to take proper advantage of in episode 2]].

Their loss to a lone tank in their match against Centipede Team is what eventually forces Asparagus to install Marie, someone who's charisma can get the team to work together (alongside Andou and Oshida as her lieutenants), as her successor.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Whereas Ogin and Flint are quite beautiful, Rum, Murakami and Cutlass are the '''first''' girls in the franchise to NOT be beautiful or cute. Respectively they appear plain, chubby and creepy, with designs that better fit ugly and violent delinquents of 1980s to 1990s “school violence” anime than the sweet and adorable Bishoujo standards of even the extras.

A French-themed school first mentioned in the series as being defeated by St. Gloriana in the first round in the 63ʳᵈ National High School Sensha-dō Tournament, and in the ''Ribbon Warrior'' spin-off manga. It was actually composed of two schools named BC and Freedom, and many of the students dislike the new re-union. In ''Das Finale'', it was said that the rivalry was caused by differences in class levels and how they ended up as such. As a result, not only they have two different sets of [[UsefulNotes/GaulsWithGrenades French tanks]], but also two different sets of tactics and thinking. From the name it suggests that it is much like the struggles of the reintegration of France between Vichy (BC) and Free French (Freedom), but in the anime it is played more like the differences between the nobility and the commoners pre-French Revolution.

* [[AfraidOfTheDoctor Afraid of the Dentist]]: As revealed in ''Motto Love Love Sakusen'', she can't stand the thought of going to the dentist, which csn be a problem given her love of sweets. When she does get a toothache, it takes Andou and Oshida chasing her down and trapping her in her carriage to get her to go.

The radio operator of the team, she is also a singer and always holds a microphone.

Both are led diminutive but charismatic leaders who wield something in their hands while giving orders (Anchovy's riding crop, Marie's fan), and both have issues that their leaders are trying to fix to get them do better, and both invite Ooarai to eat after their respective matches. However, while Anchovy thinks that her team focuses too much on food, Maries uses food as a way to unite her team.

* ArtisticLicenseMilitary: The [=SOMUA=] S35s and Renault FT that they use both have their commanders doing double duty as gunners. So they normally wouldn't be fire with their commanders sitting out on the hatch like Rena and Marie do. Though it's implied that they're having their loaders/radio operators do the firing, especially in Marie's case, since the FT normally only has a crew of 2, but her's has 3.

* NiceHat: with the exception of Cutlass, they wear Dixie Cup hats, due to being also being student ship crew members.

* CatchPhrase: Ogin tends to say something along the line, "[making an analogy with pirate terms], but [stating a more reasonable real situation]," like her "(Anglerfish team) remind me of Captain Drake, but it's not like I know Captain Drake anyway."

* HoYay: The reaction of almost the entirety of Rabbit Team when she jumps down from her tank.

* TheLeader: of the charismatic variety. In spite of her somewhat snobby attitude, she is able to keep the two factions working together through force of personality.

* UpperClassTwit: she looked and acted like a typical aristocrat, and even refused to bow to Oarai's team during the customary start of the match. Also, she made her own crew members as her own personal servants.

* BigBeautifulWoman: What her design is intended to invoke, as she is the ONLY schoolgirl character in the entire ‘’’franchise’’’ to be visibly chubby, butch and masculine as opposed to slim cute and feminine.

* BlindingBangs: Her right eye is covered heavily by her enormous bangs.

Liek Shark team's Mark IV, this is a ''World War I'' tank, the first with what would be come the standard design of a tank with a turret on top and engine in the rear. While they remained in service in 1940, it is very obsolete compared to other tanks in ''sensha-do'' -- even the ''Type 89'' is better!
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: When they actually get their shit together and stop bickering they've shown themselves to be very dangerous opponents. This was shown when they nearly wiped out Oarai's team with a well placed bridge ambush. Heck, they even managed to beat [[spoiler: Kuromorimine]] in a Tankathalon match with a bit of help from the Centipede Team.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: [[spoiler:When their Sensha-do team do try to ignore their difference and actually work as a team, it gave Yukari a panic attack, as she didn't realize BC Freedom would get their guts together.]]
