!!The Doomed Class
The Doomed Class, a.k.a. the Senior Class of Shadyside High 1999, was the subject of the year long ''Fear Street Seniors'' maxi-series. In an attempt to get revenge on her math teacher for giving her a bad grade, Josie Maxwell accidentally cursed her entire grade with a "Doom Spell," leading to over a dozen deaths in the senior class and the fear that no one would live to see graduation.

[[folder:Dana Palmer]]
The BetaBitch to Jade Feldman and another member of the cheer squad. She helps Jade stage a coup against Phoebe Yamura. When she's not with the squad she's either with her longtime boyfriend Mickey or with her twin sister Deirdre.

----
* AutoErotica: Lists "the back seat" as something she'll remember about high school in her yearbook page.
* BetaBitch: Specifically in ''Fight, Team, Fight!'' She suddenly starts acting as Jade Feldman's second-in-command and helps her screw with Phoebe's head so Jade can becoming captain.
* BreakTheHaughty: Has had it ''really'' bad by ''Graduation Day''. [[spoiler: She loses a few of her friends ''and'' her twin sister, and by June she's almost a nervous wreck.]]
* CainAndAbel: She's somewhat Cain compared to Deirdre, if only because she acts like such a bitch.
* {{Expy}}: She comes across as a version of [[Literature/SweetValleyHigh Jessica Wakefield]].
* MomentKiller: Deliberately. While serving as a summer camp counselor she makes sure to keep reminding Kenny that he has a girlfriend (her friend Jade) when another counselor keeps flirting with him.
* PolarOppositeTwins: With Deidre (one example is how sharing clothes is listed as one of Deidre's likes and Dana's dislikes in their yearbook pages), although they still form a SiblingTeam for the climax of ''The Thirst''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Danielle Cortez]]
The first senior to die in ''The Thirst''. Danielle was a member of the cheer squad, and she was killed on the first day of school. Her body was found by Dana Palmer in the school gymnasium.

----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Is implied to have dark skin if her pallor during her funeral is anything to go by.
* GenkiGirl: Was described as being very energetic and her yearbook entry mentions she loved dancing. Her teammates reminisce that she was always getting them to put some extra effort into their practices.
* TheHeart: Is often talked about as if she was the nicest member of the cheer squad. Seriously, no one ever says anything bad about this girl.
* ImColdSoCold: [[spoiler: She briefly awakens in her casket during her funeral, telling Dana Palmer she's cold.]]
* NiceGirl: The way the rest of the squad talks about her implies Danielle was incredibly well liked because she was friendly and energetic.
* RememberTheNewGuy: Never mentioned before the book where she died, something that, given the whole Doomed Class plot line, many fans found irritating.
* SacrificialLamb: She only got a few pages in before she died.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Her death set the tone for the rest of the school year.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: She doesn't even get an addition in the yearbook section until three books after she died.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Debra Lake]]
Was the center of a love triangle between her, Josh Maxwell, and Clark Dickson. Even though Josh and Debra broke up during junior year, Josh still wants to be with her causing her no end of annoyance.

----
* AgentScully: Looks for a rational explanation for things like Trisha's vision, although never unkindly.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Strongly dislikes both male and female examples of the trope and doesn't shy away from saying so in her yearbook page.
* TheConfidant: Many of the others trust her to confide worries in, and she generally does a good job of thinking on them and replying.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Jokingly implied by her yearbook quote "I would do anything for you, but I won't do that," the context of which is vague.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: [[spoiler: Mira kills Debra after she finds out about Mira's real feelings for Will and what they play in Justine Turner's death.]]
* TheLostLenore: [[spoiler: To Josh and Clark after she dies.]]
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Lists "sensitive guys" as being among her Yearbook likes, which probably explains why she broke up with Josh.
* SlutShaming: Pulls this on Mira Block. Debra doesn't trust Mira because she's been with so many guys.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Her relationship with the mysterious Clark gets some of this, although to be fair, it's largely her jealous ex Josh whose thinking that, and Clark ''is'' believed to be a vampire by most of the class. [[spoiler: and in fact he is, although a [[FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire not necessarily a bad one]]]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Greta Bradley]]
Another member of the cheer squad and a friend of Dana Palmer's, Greta is considered the senior class's resident IceQueen.

----
* AlphaBitch: Carries this vibe, although she doesn't come off as nearly as bitchy as Jade Feldman does.
* AscendedExtra: In ''The Gift'', where she finally gets an entry in the yearbook section [[spoiler: and dies.]]
* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler: Ceramics and New Year's Eve are listed as her dislikes in the yearbook section. She's killed at Jennifer Fear's New Year's party, when a heavy decorative bowl is brought down on her head and cracks her skull open.]]
* IceQueen: Is described as being "made of ice" by Jennifer Fear.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Possibly towards Jennifer Fear. Some of her dialogue implies she assumed Jennifer had known Ty had multiple girlfriends and was ok with it.
* MisplacedRetribution: [[spoiler: Dominique Fear possesses Trisha and uses her to kill Greta because she's seeing Ty, or as she thinks of him, "Nigel." While Dominique eventually tries to murder Ty as well, it's distressing Greta was killed off first before Ty.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: Implied by her quote in the yearbook section, "That Boy Is Mine." Sort of makes more sense as to why she'd go out with Ty Sullivan who has a similar reputation, since it looks as though she didn't care if he saw other people.
* SatelliteCharacter: Particularly around Jade Feldman and Ty Sullivan.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She suddenly becomes much more fun when she's with Ty Sullivan.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jade Feldman]]
The AlphaBitch of the cheerleading squad and girlfriend of Kenny Klein. Jade is jealous of Phoebe Yamura for getting the captain slot since this is their last year on the squad before graduating, and will do anything to get it from her.

----
* AlphaBitch: The most prominent example in the ''Seniors'' books besides Trisha Conrad.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Or rather, contrasting sequel rival and RedHerring. She serves as one in many respects to Kimmy Bass from the ''Cheerleaders'' miniseries, who also ends up feuding with their cheer captain (and her sister), and rallies a lot of the squad in a campaign against her. Kimmy is a BigBeautifulWoman whose spirit and pep are emphasized over her athleticism, was recently dumped by her boyfriend the quarterback, has low self-confidence, first turns against the main character on behalf of a friend (who got cut from the team when the Corcoran sisters were accepted) and gradually becomes FireForgedFriends with Corky. Jade is in better shape, with her athleticism being emphasized over her pep and spirit, is in a stable relationship with [[TheSmartGuy the valedictorian]], is kind of arrogant, turns on Phoebe out of resentment for a perceived wrong to herself, and doesn't end up FireForgedFriends with Phoebe [[spoiler: although she might have if she'd gotten away from the stalker, like Dana did based on the epilogue]].
* CrazyPrepared: Deconstructed. She spends the summer before senior year at a study camp to prepare for the [=SATs=]. It doesn't seem to have been either enjoyable or successful, considering she lists SAT prep as something she hates (along with cheer captains and ghosts) in her yearbook ''and'' she has to cheat on a test to keep her grades high enough to stay on the squad.
* DirtyCoward: [[spoiler: When the cheerleaders are abducted by Phoebe's ''real'' stalker, Jade quickly loses her bluster.]]
* DudeWheresMyRespect: She believes she deserves to be the head cheerleader because she can perform a triple back flip.
* {{Flanderization}}: While upset Phoebe got to be head cheerleader over her all the way back in her first appearance, it's not portrayed as being such a toxic and driving obsession for her until ''Fight Team, Fight!''
* GossipyHens: Lists "gab fests with Dana" as one of her yearbook highlights.
* GreenEyedMonster: To Phoebe.
* [[HoistByHisOwnPetard Hoist By Her Own Petard]]: Only gets kidnapped along with Phoebe by the stalker due to [[spoiler: having engineered a fake kidnapping right beforehand as a cruel prank]]. Possibly a CallBack to her yearbook quote: "You get what you pay for."
* JerkassToOne: Aside from showing Jennifer Fear some of the wariness and distrust that everyone else does, she isn't mean to anyone besides Phoebe, but her treatment of Phoebe is ''awful'' and entirely undeserved.
* LockedInAFreezer: [[spoiler: Jade gets impaled on a hook inside an old meat locker.]]
* ManipulativeBitch: She leads most of the cheerleaders, except Caitlin Lemonda and Samantha, against Phoebe.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Her boyfriend Kenny is the valedictorian and a fairly mellow person, while Jade's arguably the most athletic of the cheerleaders and a volatile when it comes to things like who gets to be head cheerleader.
* SeriousBusiness: Being head cheerleader is this for her.
* SweetTooth: Lists ice cream as something she looks back on in her yearbook page.
* TeensLoveShopping: Yet another tidbit from her yearbook page, and she's seen at the mall with Greta and Dana a few times.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Her worst qualities aren't really apparent until the seventh book, although delayed character focus is probably part of that (and how she doesn't share much screen time with Phoebe until that book) making it hard to tell if she's this or a BitchInSheepsClothing.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: She has this on Dana Palmer. Compare Dana in ''The Thirst'' to ''Fight Team Fight!'' Dana's generally more nasty if she's around Jade.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jennifer Fear]]
Jennifer has been picked on her whole life for being associated with the cursed Fear Family, and while her bullying isn't as severe now that she's in high school, her family roots still make life difficult for her.

----
* BerserkButton: She's quietly resigned to it for the most part, but lists people being afraid of the Fear Family as something she hates in her yearbook entry.
* ButtMonkey: For being a Fear.
* CallingTheOldManOut: [[spoiler: After her father admits that she's not a Fear, Jennifer calls him out for lying to her all her life even as the kids in school bullied and mocked her because of her supposed background.]]
* DaddyIssues: [[spoiler: When Jennifer discovers she's not actually a Fear and that her father lied to her and her mother about their heritage, Jennifer goes absolutely ballistic realizing her life has been a living hell for nothing. Her relationship with her father gets badly damaged as a result of this, as Jennifer believes she can no longer trust him. This goes on for months.]]
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler: Dominique Fear briefly used her in her early stages of trying to kill Ty Sullivan, in an effort to set Jennifer up as a patsy.]]
* IAmNotWeasel: [[spoiler: Jennifer's family aren't actually related to the Fears. Her grandfather just took the last name when he moved to Shadyside because it had influence.]]
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Despite how much she has to gain from revealing that [[spoiler: she's not really a Fear]]. She chooses not to because of the negative side effect it would have in [[spoiler: revealing that Trisha ''is'' a Fear]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Justin Thompson]]
A computer geek regularly picked on by most of the other guys in the senior class.

----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: To Trisha Conrad.
* AscendedExtra: Suddenly becomes prominent in ''Sweetheart, Evil Heart'' [[spoiler: where he kills Ty Sullivan and tries to kill Trisha Conrad]].
* BestYearsOfYourLife: Absolutely hates Shadyside High and mentions in his yearbook page that he doesn't want to remember a single thing from it afterwards.
* TheChewToy: Is beaten up, dunked in the toilets, and overall is used as a punching bag by most of the guy seniors.
* EntitledBastard: [[spoiler: He thinks he's owed Trisha Conrad's love for "Saving her" from Ty Sullivan, even though Trisha had already humiliated and dumped Ty shortly before his death.]]
* FourEyesZeroSoul: In ''Sweetheart Evil Heart''.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler: After all the humiliation and physical abuse he endured from most of his guy classmates, it's no wonder he finally had enough and killed Ty.]]
* HiddenDepths: Lists the Beach Boys and Barry White as among his Yearbook likes.
* IfICantHaveYou: [[spoiler: He expected Trisha Conrad would be grateful when he told her he killed Ty, and when she rejects him he decides to kill her too.]]
* {{Nerd}}: Seriously, just look at his photo in the yearbook entry as proof.
* NotSoHarmless: When Trisha finds out [[spoiler: he ran down Ty in cold blood. Justin suddenly becomes utterly terrifying and tries to kill Trisha when she rebuffs him.]]
* WhosLaughingNow: [[spoiler: He kills Ty Sullivan as payback for all the abuse Ty's heaped on him, and probably would've done the same to the other guys if he hadn't died.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Marla Newman]]
Contender for Valedictorian with Kenny Klein, Marla is rather haughty and has a prominent dislike of Josie Maxwell.

----
* AcademicAlphaBitch: Has a high opinion of herself and looks down on others.
* TheBGrade: Receives one on an important French exam, ruining her chances for valedictorian... until her latent magical abilities, boosted by Roxanne and Elena, turns the grade into a 98.
* BreakTheHaughty: The opening chapters of ''Wicked'' has got Marla humiliated numerous times, leaving her stressed and desperate enough to join Roxanne and Elena's coven.
* CantGetAwayWithNothing: After a particularly stressful day, Marla relieves her tension by writing a list of everybody she dislikes and why. The next day the list is tacked on one of the school's bulletin board, royally pissing off most of her classmates.
* DraggedOffToHell: [[spoiler: ''Wicked'' ends with Marla dragged under the ground by black roots due to her disobeying the rules of the contract she signed.]]
* DroppedABridgeOnHer: [[spoiler: A common criticism of her fate is that it made no sense, given how Roxanne and Elena had also broken the rules of the coven and not been punished for it]].
* EvilIsNotAToy: She joins a coven with two juniors in ''Wicked'' and learns all too quickly why messing with dark forces beyond her understanding is ''not'' a good thing.
* ForTheEvulz: She took a job at her dad's hardware store during the summer simply because Josie Maxwell applied for it and knew it would mess Josie's summer.
* GassHole: She embarrasses herself during a class debate by loudly belching in front of the whole class. It gets worse when someone made a recording of it and played it over the school's intercom system.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: When Roxanne and Elena use their power to push Josie through the school's glass doors, severely injuring Josie and sending her to the hospital. Marla feels guilty because she secretly wanted to make Josie suffer and likes to screw with her, but didn't actually want to hurt Josie. She even sends Josie flowers while she's in the hospital.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Her mom sets some unhealthy standards of achievements from Marla.
* WomanScorned: A lighter version when she [[spoiler: Trisha and Phoebe prank Ty for three-timing them]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mary O'Connor]]
A girl from the poor side of town who's got it rather rough. She gets arrested for shoplifting, and early in the school year it becomes an open secret that her boyfriend is seeing Trisha Conrad behind her back. This is all before she becomes the subject of a disturbing project...

----
* BrokenBird: Gets it rather hard in the beginning of the school year when she gets arrested for shoplifting and her boyfriend cheats on her with Trisha Conrad.
* DisappearedDad: Her father walked out on her family a few years ago.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler: She gets some very epic revenge on Mr. Morley and Rob by tricking them into thinking she's poisoned them as revenge for manipulating them, when she just spiked their drinks with sleeping pills she got from her mother.]]
* TrueCompanions: She's very close with Stacey Malcolm, and Stacey is the only person willing to get angry at both Gary ''and'' Trisha for how much they've hurt Mary.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: She seems to completely disappear from the series after her focus in ''Last Chance''.
* YouHaveToBelieveMe: When she actually tries to tell someone about what Mr. Morley is making her do, they don't believe her.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mira Block]]
One of Clarissa Turner's best friends. Mira is absolutely boy crazy and if she's got her eyes on someone, she'll stop at nothing to get him. [[spoiler: She's even willing to resort to murder]].

----
* FalseFriend: To Clarissa.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler: The first character to kill a prominent and sympathetic Senior]].
* KarmaHoudini: In a much broader sense. [[spoiler: She gets sent to a mental hospital after she's revealed as the killer of Justine Turner and Debra Lake, but this means she might be one of the few surviving seniors left after the Doom Spell entity's implied to kill the rest at the end of ''Graduation Day''.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: Has a new boyfriend almost every week.
* SlutShaming: She gets scrutiny from Debra Lake because she has so many boyfriends.
* WouldHurtAChild: [[spoiler: She openly torments Clarissa's adopted brother Aaron by taking him on a boat ride on Fear Lake, knowing full well he's deathly afraid of water. She planned to kill him along with Clarissa.]]
* {{Yandere}}: [[spoiler: She's been lusting after Will Reynolds for years and murdered both Justine Turner and Debra Lake when they got in the way of making that happen.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Phoebe Yamura]]
Captain of the Cheerleading Squad and one of the smartest kids in class, Phoebe's life isn't exactly easier when her parents hover over her shoulder to make sure she gets straight A's, and when certain other members of the squad wish to make life miserable for her.

----
* AsianAndNerdy: Phoebe is Japanese-American and probably the third or fourth smartest student in her class, [[AcademicAthlete although she's also a cheerleader.]]
* ButtMonkey: To most of the cheer squad thanks to Jade's influence.
* CantGetAwayWithNuthin: The one time she decides to be NotSoAboveItAll and gets involved in pranking anyone, [[spoiler: out of revenge for being cheated on]], she ends up feeling guilty about it even before [[spoiler: Ty]] gets murdered by one of their other enemies and she is briefly suspected of killing him by the police.
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler: After making it up to the last book, she's killed off during the school's award ceremony in ''Graduation Day''.]]
** [[spoiler: Given how this incident receives no real explanation, it almost felt like a buildup to a FakingTheDead or HesJustHiding reveals but as far as we know, it was neither]].
* ImmigrantParents: Both of her parents were born in Japan and have conservative views about dating.
* SitcomArchNemesis: With Jade Feldman.
* WomanScorned: A lighter version when she, [[spoiler: Trisha and Marla prank Ty for three-timing them]].
* YankTheDogsChain: Things are looking up for her at the end of ''Fight Team, Fight!'' with her relationship with Ty seeming more stable her fences being mended with her parents and fellow cheerleaders, and no one threatening her life. By the next book [[spoiler: She's found out Ty is cheating on her]]. and then things start going bad for her again.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Trisha Conrad]]
One of the richest kids in class thanks to her father owning the Division Street Mall. Trisha suffers from prophetic visions she can't control, and is the one who predicted none of the senior class will live to see graduation.

----
* AlphaBitch: The books try to present her as a LovableAlphaBitch, but she comes across as more of an ass than that would allow.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: People act surprised when Trisha acts bitchy and mean, but the truth is she's only just barely hiding this side to her personality. She's a home wrecker who steals boyfriends, and is more than happy to [[spoiler: make sure Jennifer Fear never lets anyone know Trisha is actually a member of the Fear Family so she doesn't get ostracized. You know, the way Jennifer has been her entire life.]]
* BlessedWithSuck: Her visions which she can't control. [[spoiler: She inherited them thanks to her ancestor, Dominique Fear.]]
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler: Was being controlled by Dominique Fear's vengeful spirit in ''The Gift''.]]
* DreamingOfThingsToCome: Claims to have psychic visions. A lot of what she claims to see is total BS (to the point where amused chuckling is a common reaction to her announcing she's had a vision of someone dying) but some of it does indeed happen.
* InTheBlood: [[spoiler: One explanation for some of her inner-selfishness, which a lot of her Fear ancestors also had]].
* KarmaHoudini: For stealing Gary Fresno. In the long run, Trisha is still this despite what is listed in LaserGuidedKarma, as [[spoiler: she somehow manages to survive the entire series.]]
* LaserGuidedKarma: Slightly subverted. She's frequently at the center of horrible events during the senior year, which can be considered payback for the way she treats everyone else. This includes [[spoiler: being possessed by Dominique Fear and being used to kill Greta Bradley, being terrorized by Justin Thompson, and almost being pushed to her death during her vacation in Arizona. In the larger scheme of things, Trisha doesn't punished as much as some of the other Seniors for her horrible attitude since she survives.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler: When Gary Fresno is killed in ''Prom Date'', Trisha is absolutely horrified and blames herself for it happening.]]
* SerialHomewrecker: She had two boyfriends throughout the series, and she dated them while they were dating other girls.
* TheUnfairSex: The blame is placed solely on Gary Fresno for the fiasco with Mary O'Connor, and the only person willing to admit Trisha's being a bitch is Stacey Malcolm. Then, when she starts going out with Ty Sullivan while she's still with Gary, ''she'' has the nerve to actually get revenge on Ty for cheating on ''her''.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: [[spoiler: She never tells Jennifer Fear that she'd been going out with Ty ''before'' he broke up Jennifer, and her internal thoughts make it clear she's prepared to threaten Jennifer if she ever considers telling anyone about her family heritage.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ty Sullivan]]
Ty's family moved to Shadyside the summer before the senior year began, and he quickly establishes himself as a ladies man.

----
* BastardBoyfriend: He was especially terrible to Jennifer Fear and treated her the worst of all his girlfriends. Ironically, she's the only one he actually broke up with yet his behavior towards her gets even worse ''after'' he's no longer seeing her.
* BrokenAce: [[spoiler: Is thoroughly humiliated in ''Sweetheart, Evil Heart'' before he's killed by Justin Thompson.]]
* ChickMagnet: Was dating 5 girls at the same time.
* {{Expy}}: His DayInTheLimelight storyline is similar to that if [[spoiler: Bobby Newkirk]]. From the original series who also [[spoiler: Was a serial cheater who got punished by a bunch of girls he dated teaming up for a complicated prank that involved making him afraid of a girl who didn't actually exist]]. Although unlike Ty, [[spoiler: No one killed Bobby afterwards]].
* FireForgedFriends: With Kenny, after the second book.
* JerkJock: Like most of the prominent male characters in ''Seniors'', he especially loved to beat up Justin Thompson. [[spoiler: Justin gets his revenge.]]
* ReallyGetsAround: Has dated Jennifer Fear, Greta Bradley, Trisha Conrad, Phoebe Yamura, and Marla Newman.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He thinks he's God's gift to the girls of Shadyside, and openly brags about dating three girls at once with none of them being the wiser. [[spoiler: Or so he thinks.]]
* SmugSnake: He genuinely thought he was smarter than Trisha, Marla and Phoebe for seeing all of them at the same time and making sure they never knew he was cheating on all of them. [[spoiler: Boy was he wrong.]]
