* TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: In Babylonia, an early mission has the Chaldea crew investigating a wife who is possibly cheating on her husband. A SmashCut later, the party is fighting a Shadow version of Kiyohime who is oddly named "Creeping Yohimen." After the battle another SmashCut occurs and the party comments on how the wife wasn't cheating; she was really the LastOfHerKind member of a subterranean race ("Yohimen") who turned her back on her people out of love for her husband. Okay, the story is told but we never see it. King Gilgamesh is shocked by their report and the subject is [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment never brought up again.]]

The Valkyrie are the famed battle maidens of Odin, one of the highest existences in Norse mythology. They were originally created by Odin to act as his sworn soldiers and recruit the souls of great human warriors to serve in his armies for {{Gotterdammerung}}. As artificial beings close in nature to Divine Spirits, they originally behaved like autonomous constructs until the day the oldest Valkyrie, Brynhildr, fell deeply in love with the hero Sigurd and introduced emotion into their HiveMind.

Götterdämmerung.

* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: As shown in the penultimate battle of Gotterdammerung, Valkyrie and Skadi make a perfect combo. Skadi provides a huge Quick boost and enemy wide Defense down to make Valkyrie's [=AoE=] Noble Phantasm hit harder, alongside boosting their normally low damage output to incredible levels. Should Valkyrie generate enough gauge refunds from their NP as well as their third skill, Skadi can potentially top it off with her own third skill, a simple large NP battery, which allows Valkyrie to use their Noble Phantasm ''again'' on the next turn. That's also not getting into how Skadi's Noble Phantasm synergizes quite well with Valkyrie's second skill, making the already very tanky Lancer even ''tankier'' and more difficult to dislodge.

The one who left behind her name as the only "female general" in one of these historical works, the "History of Ming" was Qin Liangyu. Originally, Qin Liangyu, who came from a group of minority, married a man called Ma Qiancheng who governed the region of Zhongzhou, and together they took part in a campaign to suppress a revolt. After that, succeeding her husband who was imprisoned due to a civil suit and died in prison, as a general, she drove away bandits on multiple occasions. The subordinates led by her, known as the White Cavalry, held spears made of fraxinus and were feared far and wide. She made her debut in Lostbelt #3: SIN.

* CriticalHitClass: She has a very similar gimmick with Inshun Hozoin of having a non-damaging Noble Phantasm that grants the user a variety of buffs where a majority of their damage comes from critical hits. While Hozoin's kit is more Quick focused, her kit is instead more Arts focused. Her Noble Phantasm grants her buffs she can inflict defense down from her normal attacks and can remove buffs whenever her attacks critical hits. Two of her skills buffs her critical damage, with her first skills increasing her own Arts and Quick card performance (meaning better Noble Phantasm charge and star generation respectfully) in addition to increasing her critical damage while her second skill grants her critical star absorption. This means if she manages to get an Arts chain with her own Noble Phantasm with her own Arts cards inflicting critical hits, she can deal ''massive'' amount of damage while fully charging her own Noble Phantasm gauge at the same time should her Arts cards deal critical damage, allowing her to use her Noble Phantasm again in the next turn. And having the typical Arts Lancer kit (QQAAB), it is ''very'' easy to spam her Noble Phantasm back to back while capable of generating critical stars herself.

* MasterOfNone: Started as one but averted overtime. Fionn's skillset is originally very weak, with Clairvoyance being generally useless on servant without high hitcount AOE NP, and even then its still generally very weak. His second skill is very strong on paper, due to being a dodge and taunt combination which allows him to nulify STNP but the dodge is not guaranteed until max level, capped at 10 CD making it unreliable and hard to rely on even with help from Tamamo. His third skill is essentially just an Arts version of Mana Burst, with slightly lower value, which is decent but nothing spectacular. Fionn's only saving grace was his NP which have a decent amount of refill which is balanced by his rather horrendous NP gen stats. After numerous BalanceBuff, Fionn's Clairvoyance now goes a long way towards fixing his base NP gen, while also making his NP refill much more reliable, while his second skill got an absurd 3 turn cooldown cut, on top of adding a battery effect turning it from an awkwardly long cooldown skill into an overloaded multi-purpose skill that can be used as a protection against NP, card damage, and battery all at once. Fionn's NP gen stats is pretty much the only thing stopping him from being ridiculously reliable at spamming NP, giving him a very strong niche while also having a stronger base skill effects compared to standard NP spammer.

* MasterOfNone: He's a very unpopular Servant because he can't seem to do ''anything'' well. His first skill is Clairvoyance, one of the weakest skills in the game and no help with his card layout and passives. He has a taunt coupled with a dodge skill, but the dodge effect is not guaranteed (it also has a very long cooldown) and the third effect on the skill is a demerit on his own Charm resistance. His third skill is decent, but unfortunately it buffs a Noble Phantasm that is very weak even post Interlude and that's assuming you get to use it in the first place given his poor NP generation. The 2nd Anniversary Strengthening Quest gives him more by adding an NP generation buff to his first skill, increasing the star gen of Clairvoyance, and making both effects party-wide rather than just for himself. While not exactly a massive buff, he's now far from unusable, and still holds the niche of being the ''only'' [=AoE=] Arts Lancer in the game.

* BalanceBuff: His version of the much-derided Clairvoyance was upgraded to include party-wide NP Gain buffing. As an Arts-based Servant, he therefore finally gains utility as a combo SupportPartyMember and tank, which could soak up hits while his fellow Arts-based Servants fill up their NP gauges (or attack). It's still really not much compared to his other fellow Lancers here, but he is now by no means unusable as he was in the past.
** However, come New Year's 2019, Fionn got another buff this time to his Trouble With Women skill. In addition to adding a much needed NP charge, the cooldown on the skill decreased by '''3''' whole turns (for reference, the only other times that a skill's cooldown decreased was by 1) which means that at max level, the skill went from a ridiculous 10 turn cool down to a much, much more manageable 7. With it, he's legitimately decent as servant in his own right and can work well in an Arts based team.

With it, he's legitimately decent as servant in his own right and can work well in an Arts based team.teams or for farming.

Added DiffLines:

* NotCompletelyUseless: Similar to Mephisto, Benkei isn't really a viable Servant compared to competitors even within his own niche and rarity (as Georgios and Leonidas exist). Still, as a source of Skill Seal, at max level his Vengeful Spirit Exorcism has a 100% base chance, and would completely negate a certain final boss's one-turn skill that would wipe the entire frontline in the first part of the story. As a bonus, unlike Mephisto or Mata Hari, Benkei's skill is available at level one and not gated by a Rank-Up quest, so newer players can still gamble their way to beating the final boss.

Added DiffLines:

* StoneWall: Benkei is a debuff-based taunting Servant, with Imposing Stance giving him a turn of taunt and a 60% defense buff. However, all of his debuffs have questionable base accuracy, enemies have their own debuff resistances to account for (upwards of 20% with just passive skills), and the debuffs themselves aren't that impressive (single-turn NP seal, or skill seal, or Stun for two of his skills and his Noble Phantasm respectively), so it's difficult to make a case for Benkei compared to Leonidas or Georgios.

* GuileHero: He's the main reason why the Trojans were capable of holding the Greeks back even though they were surrounded in a siege, outnumbered, and lacked divine blessings. If Achilles is not there in the war, the Trojans' victory was assured through the combination of Hektor's capability as a warrior, administrations and tactical genius. He goaded Achilles to lose his own divinity because he knew he couldn't win against Achilles' immortality. In [[AllThereInTheManual supplemental material]], he even left a DyingClue to the AchillesHeel on his own body.

* MasterOfNone: While she started off as a serviceable, and even to some strong Lancer, her main weakness is that she lacks a role to fill in most teams. This is because she tries to be both a strong Buster focused Lancer like Karna, while also trying to be a crit star generator thanks to having two Quick cards as well. The result is a Servant with difficulty generating Noble Phantasm, with a deck that focuses on raw damage to compensate. She also has Territory Domain, something that flat-out does not work for her because she has just one Arts card as well. Lastly, her Noble Phantasm damage is painfully weak, and she lacks a Buster boost to it like the Altria Lancer's and Karna have. She avoids being as bad as Fionn though, largely because she still is useful in combat with her Noble Phantasm being decent as wave clearing, while her Sadistic Charisma is an exceptionally useful Charisma buff.
