* DrGenericius: Dr. Mobius and Dr. Borous.

* EntitledBastard: They get really mad when they figure out that the NCR is giving food to their citizens in Freeside, without giving any to the Kings and locals, acting like they somehow deserve it for nothing. It's especially weird because the Kings are widely known to persecute NCR citizens in Freeside with violence. While Pacer is doing this behind the King's back, the King is still fully aware that violence against the NCR happens all the time, does nothing about it, and ''still'' expects free handouts.

* JiveTurkey: The group all speak in slang.

Lily's an old Nightkin who was transformed [[{{Fallout 1}} waaaaaay back]] in the Master's era. As a result of prolonged Stealth Boy exposure she's become insane. She joins the Courier when she learns about the investigation behind the recent Bighorner disappearances. Lily can fire guns, but she really shines in sneaking and melee combat. During their adventures the Courier discovers that Lily needs to take her medicine so that her mental faculties regain some semblance of order. The Courier can help Lily on the road to recovery or let her indulge in her psychopath ways.

** Borous' hatred of Communists arguably rivals Liberty Prime.

* {{Cloud Cuckoo Lander}}s: Sanity and they went their separate ways a ''looong'' time ago.

* HumanoidAbomination: They're considered at least to count towards the Abominable challenge.

** According to WordOfGod, Klein is more the Lab Director/College Dean there to push them around and keep the group somewhat focused on research since he's the most [[OnlySaneMan relatively sane]] out of all of them..

* MadScientist: No, really? The fact that they tend to hop themselves up on Mentats doesn't help a bit, that and doing virtually the same things for more than 200 years. Vivisection ''can'' get boring, you know. Also, this is ''{{Fallout}}'', and Fifties Science! was imagined to be a little different to regular science.

* NotSoHarmless: Dr. Mobius warns the Courier that, despite their quirky personalities and seemingly incompetent harmlessness, the Think Tank are brilliant, dangerous, and amoral, and will cause untold horrors to the Mojave if they ever escape Big MT.

* [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Spell My Name With A 0]]: 0 has long since given up on correcting people on his name. However with a high enough Intelligence you can tell him to put a slash through the zero.

* AxCrazy: The toaster, of all things. His purpose in life is to 'murder' other toasters and other appliances. If the Courier ends the DLC with bad karma, [[spoiler:the toaster goes on to found and be the center of his own cult, laying waste to all unfortunate appliances.]]

* DoubleEntendre: Several of the Biological Research Lab's responses to the Courier.

* TheJeeves: The Sink Central Intelligence. To the point that it will constantly call you "sir", even if you're a woman, because it was programmed to and was not likewise programmed to say "ma'am" or leave out the honorific altogether.
* JiveTurkey: Blind Diode Jefferson, your jukebox.

* HeyItsThatVoice: Ulysses is feeling rather frisky right now towards the courier.

* KillItWithFire: If the toaster had its way... Fortunately, its tiny heating coil restricts it to simply heating up Saturnite, and then only if you let it. The weapons created this way will set your enemies alight, instead.

* [[spoiler:OnlySaneMan: For a given value of sane, anyway. He's at least more sane than the Think Tank, which isn't saying much, and then only when he isn't hopped up on Psycho and Mentats.]]

* TheStoner: While all the Think Tanks are Mentats addicts, Mobius' drug habits are arguably worse, including Psycho and Jet.

* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: His Robo-Scorpions are pretty much his only way of solving problems and he is very enthusiastic about using them, though it would be hard not to be.

* JerkAss

The original Courier Six and loyalist of the Pre-War United States, he contacts the Courier to give him/her one final assignment: To meet him at The Divide with the promise of explaining why he chose not to deliver the Platinum Chip. He has a connection with the Courier that remains a mystery until Lonesome Road.

** Alternately, it's [[{{Tangled}} Flynn Rider]]!

** CulturedBadass: During Silus' interrogation, a Courier with high-intelligence can reveal not only a [[CunningLinguist familiarity with Latin]], being knowledgeable enough to be able to quote ''Virgil'' and ''Cicero'' in it.

* OlderThanSheLooks: Cass is actually 37 and the oldest of the human characters.

* BadassAdorable
* BadassBookworm: She's a Scribe, but she's as effective in combat as a Paladin. She can even wear Power Armor.

* GlassCannon: Her damage potential is obscene, especially with high-end glove weapons like the Ballistic Fist, but she originally folded like paper due to a bug that kept her from leveling up. The bug's since been fixed, but she's still fairly fragile. Then again, she's also capable of wearing Power Armor, moving her into:
** MightyGlacier: By rectifying that problem with said Power Armor and giving her a Ballistics Fist, Veronica become powerful enough to engage Lanius head-on and possibly coming out on top.

** He also seems to hate ED-E and won't follow you if you've got him floating around.
** He doesn't hate ED-E. In game, the Courier is only allowed to have two companions traveling with them at a time; ED-E and Rex can't travel together because they're classified as robotic companions, and can only travel along side a human (or ghoul and nightkin) companion.

* [[spoiler:FaceHeelTurn]]: [[spoiler:A possibility when you encounter him at the theater, if you've one-upped him too many times. However if he decides not to betray you, he'll actually try to help you, even cheering you on when you confront Elijah.]]

* FlunkyBoss: He lets the "[[SpellMyNameWithAThe The Vault security turrets]]" do all the work for him while he hides behind a force field. Of course, once they're dead, he comes after you with a Gauss Rifle. Of course with sufficient melee weapons/unarmed skill, the player can just smash the generator and render the turrets useless.

* BookDumb: Boone has a fairly low Intelligence stat compared to other characters. Makes sense in that while other characters come from either educated backgrounds (Arcade and Veronica) or have developed skills other than fighting (Raul and Cass), Boone is just a very talented and well-trained soldier.

* DiscOneNuke: Possibly one of the most powerful companions in the entire game in terms of combat effectiveness. Often, the first warning you'll get that you're under attack is a slow-motion shot of the enemy's head exploding.

* MyCountryRightOrWrong: Averted. He is still loyal to the principles and ideals of the NCR, but he sees that the republic has some serious issues when it comes to their expansionism and corruption.
* NiceHat: Dissing Boone's beret is a good way to get your head blown off.

* ObliviousToLove: Maybe. It's hard to tell, since he's so [[TheStoic reticent]]. The game suggests that his best friend Manny has [[HoYay feelings for him]]. Boone [[spoiler: went to him for help first after she disappeared]], however, when he realized Manny was more ''glad'' than anything, they had a falling out. It's not made entirely clear if he knows ''why'' Manny was so glad.

* AntiHero: Stradles the line between Type II and III. Would probably be the former, but his acceptance of Casear's Legion, with all their endorsement of rape and slavery that entails, he probably gets a slightly higher score than most Type II's.

* WeakButSkilled: Justified because of his age and bleaker view on his life. As stated above, he can get his edge back.

** Forget that, it's Japanese [[RikiyaKoyama Boone]] [[MarvelVsCapcom3 fought]] [[DeadRising in wars]] you know.

** Forget that, it's Japanese [[RikiyaKoyama Jack Bauer]] and he is goddamn pissed!

** He also condemns the Courier for [[spoiler:destroying a peaceful community that honored old-world ideals]] ... but he himself did the exact same thing to [[spoiler:New Canaan]].
** He doesn't think the NCR are fit to run the new world. Yet he supported and worked for [[TheHorde The Legion.]]

* MoralMyopia: He's very mad at you for [[spoiler: accidentally destroying a bastion of civilization, in the Divide.]] Yet he sees no problem with supporting a savage barbarian army or leading and partaking in the massacres of peaceful towns, like [[spoiler: New Canaan.]]

* SmugSnake

* {{Jerkass}}: Most of them, anyway. Aside from their obsessive worship of technology, the faction's main defining characteristic is their extreme xenophobia - they're ''not'' nice to outsiders. This is pretty much exactly the way the faction has always behaved in the franchise - if anything, the Mojave branch is ''more'' lenient than usual.
