* TheCameo: [[spoiler:It's revealed in Chapter III of ''VideoGame/FAITHTheUnholyTrinity'' that Jakob and Gary Miller are close friends, with Jakob sending one of The Horror's as a ''pet'' for Gary and even having a picture together]].

* AssholeVictim: The everyone in the town is completely free of anything resembling redeeming qualities, so none should feel a thing as Dusk Dude slaughters his way through them.

* RatedMForManly: His first scene is getting impaled on meat hooks and about to be carved up by some crazed hillbillies. His response? Rip himself off the meat hooks and ''use them to slaughter'' the very hillbillies who were about to carve him up. This is just the beginning of his awesomeness.

* BadassNormal: He blasts every mad cultist, every abomination, and every otherworldy demon the cult throws at him with just a relatively normal arsenal. Dusk Dude can run very fast, tank explosions, and do [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking flips in midair.]] [[spoiler:Bumped up to EmpoweredBadassNormal after Nyarlathotep grants him his power.]]

* {{Expy}}: His wide-brimmed hat, coat, and use of a common farm tool as a melee weapon (sickles in this case) give him a resemblance to [[{{VideoGame/Blood}} Caleb]]. [[spoiler:He also (albeit [[ReforgedIntoAMinion against his will]]) ends up serving under an EldritchAbomination, with glowing green eyes similar to Caleb's glowing red eyes.]]

* OhCrap: Has a ''massive'' one [[spoiler: when Nyarlathotep corrupts him and seals him underneath Dusk.]]
* OlderHeroVsYoungerVillain: Dusk Dude looks much more middle aged and grizzled in comparison to the relatively more youthful looking Jacob.

* SealedBadassInACan: He is sealed underneath the town of Dusk [[spoiler: after Nyarlathotep grants him his power and turns Dusk Dude into his dragon.]]

* YouKillItYouBoughtIt: Takes over [[spoiler: Jakob's job]] at the end of the game. [[spoiler: Not like he wanted it.]]

* BadBoss: He’s the one who causes Jacob’s disciples to turn on and kill him for being "unworthy" compared to Dusk Dude.

* BigBad: He is the true mastermind behind the cult, with Jacob merely being his servant.

* GreaterScopeVillain: He is the one behind Jacob and Cult’s actions, though you don’t know until the end of the game.

* BigBad: While technically TheDragon to Nyarlathotep, as the leader of the cult, he’s this.

* AccidentalHero: He is responsible for the fall of cult, stopping their evil, but he’s just a treasure hunter who came to town to get his hands on the riches and stops the cult out of self defense.

* BadassLongcoat: Comes with a large hat as well, reminiscent of Caleb from ''{{VideoGame/Blood}}''.

* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: Scarecrows wield double barreled shotguns that pack a pun.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Implied in Homecoming ([=E3M7=]). He recognizes one of the houses. When you walk inside, you hear [[HellIsThatNoise someone or something screaming]], and using the paintings print this out:

* CoolHat: Wouldn't be a proper [[{{VideoGame/Blood}} Caleb]] {{expy}} if he didn't have a large white-brimmed hat that covers his eyes.
