** During the Buu Saga, he's lectured about how because he stopped training after the Cell Saga, he's gotten weaker and his skills have decayed, hurting his ability to protect his friends and family. Despite this, he still fails to keep up with his training, and by the time of ''Resurrection 'F''' and the ''Super'' adaptation of the same story, he can barely maintain Super Saiyan and is completely helpless against Frieza, who's more powerful than ever; he finally learns his lesson in ''Super'' after Frieza is dealt with, asking Piccolo to retrain him.

* BadassBaritone: Courtesy of Kyle Hebert as he gives Gohan an deep adult-like voice. Commonly shown when he lets loose a scream.

* SignatureMove: Like his father, he doesn't have any ki blast moves of his own, but Burst Rush (the brutal combo he gives Super Buu when they first fight) is solidly claimed as his. He's also rather well known for the Masenko, which technically isn't his creation, but since Piccolo has never been seen using the move himself, it's very strongly associated with Gohan.

** When he first reached the level of Super Saiyan 2, he outclassed Perfect Cell, who was at the level of the Supreme Kai, and even after seven years of letting his skills rust, he could still fight evenly with Dabura, who was only slightly weaker than Super Perfect Cell.

** [[spoiler: His new "Beast" Form from ''Super Hero''. There is absolutely nothing in the franchise prior to this that hints that Gohan had even more depths to his power beyond his Ultimate form. While Gohan did mention offhandedly he had been considering the possibility of a different way to ascend that wasn't Super Saiyan Blue (aka not dipping into Divine Ki) back in ''Super'' it is unlikely that it is related to this, as it is yet another transformation triggered from Gohan snapping ala his initial, iconic Super Saiyan 2 Transformation. * WorldsStrongestMan: At the end of the Cell Saga, he becomes the strongest character after becoming a Super Saiyan 2. By the end of the Buu arc, he was the strongest unfused character after Old Kai unlocked his full power. However, he falls behind both times [[BrilliantButLazy because he lacks the dedication and interest to train consistently]] unlike his father and Vegeta and is more interested in academics than fighting.
