* TooDumbToLive: Not the Cyberdemon itself, holy hell that thing is competent. But the scientists who brought it BackFromTheDead thought that turning it into an "ultimate battle demon" was a ''good idea.'' The creature was hostile from the outset and at first the people who created it put the creature into an effectively brain-dead state to stop it from killing everything around it at the first opportunity, then they started tinkering with the creature's Argent Energy core, so it could direct the energy to any part of it's body ''at will''. Cue the beast using this to jolt itself back to consciousness and override their programming before going on another rampage with any hope of restraining it lost.

!!Imp
-->Hell's own soldiers. Monsters who are capable of throwing fireballs, Imps are the lowest level of demon that lead the charge for the forces that follow.

* DeathFromAbove: They like to cling to walls or ceilings and then pelt you with fireballs.
* FangsAreEvil: They're demons. They've got fangs. Kinda goes with the whole "evil" thing they're got going on.
* {{Fatality}}: If they defeat the Doom Slayer, they knock him to the ground and then scurry over. Before he can recover, they turn him over, disembowel him with their claws, [[AnArmAndALeg rip off his left arm]] and then [[GrievousHarmWithABody brutally smash him in the face with it]].
* {{Fireballs}}: Their primary ranged weapon.
* FragileSpeedster: Imps go down in a single well-placed shotgun shot, the problem is getting it well-placed in the first place.
* TheGoomba: Your first properly demonic enemy that you encounter, and one you'll see throughout the game.
* {{Mooks}}: Hell seems to have a nigh-unlimited supply of Imps; expect to see them more than every other Demon combined.
* NoSneakAttacks: Imps have a tendency to helpfully screech and alert you to their presence ''before'' attacking.
* UndergroundMonkey: There's the Hell Razer, which is an Imp with an OrganicTechnology ArmCannon that shoots FrickinLaserBeams of Hell energy.
* WallCrawling: Imps often show up by clambering out of vents, climbing up to balconies, crawling down walls or squeezing their way out of gaps in the walls, and they use their climbing liberally during combat

!!Demon (a.k.a. "Pinky") and Spectre
-->Hulking brutes that are tinted pink. These guys get in your face as they have no ranged attack but will do some damage. Spectres are versions of Demons that only appear as hazy outlines when encountered.

* AttackAttackAttack: All they know how to do is run at you and bite.
** Though often they'll run back and forth erractically to make it hard to hit them.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: Their classic design is basically a giant demonic face with arms up near the temples running around on two legs. They do technically have a torso, it's just their oversized head and forward-hunched position makes head and torso indistinguishable when viewed from the front.
* FoodChainOfEvil: Pinkies won't hesitate to attack and eat other demons, especially Imps.
* InvisibilityCloak: For Spectre.
* PaletteSwap: Spectre is this for the Pinky, being the same monster but with an InvisibilityCloak.

!!Lost Soul
-->Disembodied horned skulls that are on fire. They can spawn from other enemies and simply fly into you as their only means of attack.

* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: Their flames are ordinarily blue, when they spot you, they turn a pinkish-red color.
* FlamingSkulls: Disembodied ones, at that.
* FragileSpeedster: They go down after only a few direct hits, but be careful with your aim; the speedy buggers can be tough to hit.
* GhostlyGlide: They move around through levitation, gliding through the air. In Doom 3, they make ghostly wails while they do so, for good measure.
* GlassCannon: They can easily kill you, but they explode after 1-2 shots from the shotgun.
* TechnicolorFire: Their flames can change color. When they're calm and just floating around, they have a blue flame, but when they see you, their flame turns a pinkish-red as they charge.
* YourHeadASplode: After being killed. The explosion is merely an effect, though, and won't affect anything near the Lost Soul.

!!Cacodemon
-->Floating blobs of red flesh with a single green eye, horns, and a nasty maw. They mostly attack by spitting energy blasts at you, but they will take a bite out of you if you get close enough.

* GhostlyGlide: Since they have no legs, they float to get around the battlefield.
* EyeScream: Most glory kills on them involve damage to their eye.
* InterfaceScrew: Their lightning bolts will temporarily scramble your vision in the 2016 game.
* MascotMook: They're one of the most recognizable of common enemies and so get a lot of marketing.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: They have ''four'' jaws (two horizontal, two vertical) all bristling with teeth.
* ShockAndAwe: Their attacks in the 2016 incarnation are ball lightning, which if it hits will mess around with the Praetor suit for a bit.
* SlasherSmile: Constant one at that.

!!Baron of Hell & Hell Knight
-->Hell's elite. They are hoofed beings that walk upright and have a ram-like head, basically giant Satyrs. The Hell Knights are brown while the Barons are pink and tougher. , The latter also throws bolts of fire and can slash with their hands..

* BigRedDevil: They're pink and brown, respectively, but they have a fairly classical goatman/minotaur-like look, with furry legs, cloven hoves and huge horns.
* EyelessFace: Played straight with the Hell Knight.
* {{Fatality}}: [[spoiler: If the Barons of Hell defeat the Doom Slayer, they'll knock him to the ground, pin him under a hoof, and then [[AnArmAndALeg rip off both his legs]]. Then they'll [[FacePalmOfDoom grab his head in one hand and crush it]]. The Hell Knights will just crush him to a pulp with three {{Megaton Punch}}es.]]
* LightningBruiser: Hell Knights and Barons are no longer the lumbering behemoths they were in previous games. Now, they are extremely agile, able to perform devastating leaping ground pounds and traverse up to higher surfaces with ease.
* SmashMook: Hell Knights have lost their ranged attack in the 2016 game, but make up for it with their speed and agility.

!!Revenant
-->A walking skeleton with the ability to fire rockets off its shoulders. Exactly why they look so humanoid is never explained, except for in Doom 2016, which gives them an all too chilling reason...

* AndIMustScream: The Revenant is a former human being who was effectively FlayedAlive and implanted with cybernetic components -- all of it without anesthesia -- before being subjected to a weeks-long Lazarus Wave exposure that finally killed them from sheer pain... only to bring them back as undead pseudo-demons, suffering forever.
* BodyHorror: Compared to the old games, they're far more disturbing in this one than when they were mere animated skeletons with rocket launchers.
* DeathFromAbove: They have jetpacks that allow them to take flight and launch a barrage of missiles from the air. Thankfully, they can only do this in multiplayer.
* TheDogBitesBack: Despite them willingly serving themselves up to be turned into some demonic horror by the UAC to be used as a weapon, one doubts that the fact that they are going to have to "[[FateWorseThanDeath live]]" with constant unending agony isn't going to give them second thoughts.
* EverythingsDeaderWithZombies: Like the Possessed, the Revenant is a HumanSacrifice who was brutally mutilated to death, upgraded with cybernetic implants, and then brought back to life with demonic energies.
* {{Fatality}}: [[spoiler: If they defeat the Doom Slayer, they will [[AnArmAndALeg rip off both of his arms]], [[GrievousHarmWithABody slap him with one of his own arms for added insult]], and then crush his skull with a single punch.]]
* HomingProjectile: One of the rockets he can launch.
* HumanSacrifice: As with the Possessed, they were humans who volunteered to be butchered and reanimated to become the UAC's deadly new living weapons.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: They can shoot a ''lot'' of rockets, very quickly.
* SuperSoldier: They were intended to be the next step up from the Possessed in the UAC's arsenal.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Unfortunately for the UAC, the Revenants were no more loyal in the face of a demonic outbreak than the Possessed, though can you really blame them?
* WasOnceAMan: Revenants ''used'' to be humans.

!!Mancubus
-->Really fat demons with fireball cannons for arms.

* ArmCannon: Two of them.
* DamageSponge: They can suck up a ''lot'' of ammo before going down.
* FatBastard: Larger that most demons, and designed to look really fat.
* GiantMook: They're one of the biggest demons in the game.
* GroundPound: Mancubi can do this to attack you if they feel you're too close.
* PlayingWithFire: They wield implanted {{Arm Cannon}}s that shoot fireballs at enemies, they also have a flamethrower attack for if you try to get up close and personal.
* MightyGlacier: Slow, but their durability and damage output can be frightening.
* OrganicTechnology: The mancubi have organic {{Arm Cannon}}s. More "old school" mancubi appear as the "Cyber-Mancubus" enemy variant.

!!Samuel Hayden
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px_samuel_hayden_doom_2016.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:Your affinity for guns is apparent.]]
-->Dr. Samuel Hayden is the leader of the UAC and the official who oversaw the Argent energy research projects at the UAC Mars Base. After an unknown incident during construction of the facility's Argent Tower which caused him to develop brain cancer, he was forced to replace almost the entirety of his body with cybernetics.\\
Hayden is adamant in defending his original research projects into Hell and its Argent energy reserves, stating that it was all in mankind's best interest, and that the sacrifices made would have been worth the cost, if his other staff had been able to resist the corrupting influences of the demonic dimension. While he seems friendly, whether or not he can be trusted must be regarded as a question.
----
* {{Cyborg}}: His body houses non-cancer infected parts of his brain, but the calculative parts are replaced with machinery - this, in effect, means that while his personality is the same as before his brain was put into the nine-foot body, he now has the mental acuity of a supercomputer and the strength to be expected by a 9-foot tall machine.
* DeadpanSnarker: Upon telling the Doom Slayer to heat towards the research complex to retrieve [[spoiler: The Helix Stone]], he drops this line:
--> '''Samuel:''' Your affinity for guns is apparent... I'm confident you'll find something useful there as well.
* EmergencyTransformation: Upon being diagnosed with brain cancer, Hayden transferred his consciousness into an argent-powered robot body. The new Hayden is even more impressive a mind than he was when mortal.
* GodzillaThreshold: Waking up the Doomguy. Hayden is well aware the Doomguy would wreak just as much devastation on the UAC's property as the demons but wakes him up anyway because, at the end of the day, the destruction of UAC property is the softer option than Hell's invasion of Mars, and Hayden knows it.
* LargeAndInCharge: His body is specifically built to be 9 foot tall, and he leads the UAC.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: Not a full-on Cultist like Olivia, but still very interested in exploiting Hell for profit. And while his conflict with Olivia is obvious, one has to wonder if and how much of the UAC Mars branch's cult behaviour and development of "battle demons" were allowed to proceed with his knowledge and/or blessing.
* NoSell: Go on, try shooting him when you meet him in person. He'll scoff that you're wasting ammunition as his energy shields negate the shoots.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With the Doom marine. Samuel would really rather that the Doom marine ''didn't'' smash all the machinery that extracts energy from hell, which clashes with the Doom marine's view of 'Rip and tear everything and everyone related to hell'.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Samuel believes that mining hell for its resources is a fantastic idea, and considering the alternative is an energy crisis that humanity has no answer for, he may have a point.
--> '''Samuel:''' I do what I do because there is no choice.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: Debated. There's absolutely no doubt that Samuel would have preferred another way of solving humanity's energy crisis which wouldn't run the risk of tampering with hell itself. But since there's no alternative, draining hell it is! [[spoiler: This is what causes him to turn on the Doom marine by the game's end - 'having an unsolvable energy crisis' is ''not'' an alternative.]]
* VillainRespect: Well, [[WellIntentionedExtremist not exactly villainous]], but he agrees on the Doom Slayer's methods of dealing with TheLegionsOfHell, saying he may be right in killing them all.

!!Olivia Pierce
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_olivia_pierce_doom_2016.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:My sisters and brothers, be thankful. You will be the first. You will have a seat alongside them as I will in what will become the new world they create for us. Starting now.]]
-->Dr. Olivia Pierce is a high-ranking adherent and researcher in the UAC, and has taken practical control of the UAC Mars Base by causing a Hell Wave of Argent energy while releasing all of the captive demons in the Lazarus Labs, killing 64% of the staff and zombifying the rest. She is a major antagonist of the game, and opposes Dr. Samuel Hayden, whose claimed interests are only in Hell's Argent energy, by trying to bargain with the demons and open a permanent portal to Hell.\\
Olivia was formerly an ordinary woman, as demonstrated by a picture of her prior appearance which can be found in the Advanced Research Complex on an array of monitors displaying high-ranking UAC researchers. However, her long-term exposure to Hell deteriorated her physical body as it had Samuel's, causing her to develop debilitating scoliosis. In an attempt to remedy this and maintain mobility, she had herself integrated into an artificial exoskeleton. While this worked, the exoskeleton keeps her in a constant state of pain and torment, which, in her ever-increasing fanatic dedication to Hell studies, she refuses to remedy through medication, lest her mind be dulled in any way.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler: Turns out, making deals with the literal hell is likely to give you exactly what you bargained for: You'll get 'power beyond comprehension' alright, but it's by transforming into the Spider Mastermind, a massive brain-shaped creature with an arachnid-like mechanical chassis, an Argent plasma gun, and immense telekinetic powers.]]
* BigBad: Causes the events of the game. [[spoiler: Becomes the final boss, the Spider Mastermind]].
* {{Cyborg}}: Her scoliosis required her to turn to cybernetics to maintain her ability to walk. One that keeps her in constant pain.
* DealWithTheDevil: Makes an agreement with the Demonic forces to help them invade Mars in exchange for godlike power. [[spoiler: BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor, you might just get it.]]
* {{Determinator}}: [[spoiler: Whatever you have to say about her, she's an unarmed, incredibly sick woman, who breaks open the gates to Hell in order to ''make the demons live up to their side of the bargain.]]
* EvilCripple: Has a severe neurological disorder which forces her to wear an exoskeleton in order to walk; she refuses pain medication because she feels it dulls her mind.
* PathOfInspiration: She's turned the UAC from an energy company into a hellish cult with lies and promises of rewards.
%%* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She preaches to anyone in the cult she's set up and to anyone who would listen to her that the forces of Hell would allow mankind to advance and evolve. [[spoiler: However her codex entry privately discloses that she was either [[TheCorruption so far gone]] or merely blowing hot air to make the masses more pliable to do her bidding and reveals this as a ruse, with her actual goal being to procure godlike power for herself.]]

!!Vega
-->VEGA is an artificial intelligence which is responsible for operation of the UAC Mars Base. It is capable of analyzing the Praetor suit and enabling some of its latent functionality, resulting in advancements in combat capability and maneuverability.

----
* ArtificialIntelligence: VEGA is the MasterComputer that runs the Mars facility. In-universe, it was put to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_test Turing Test]], the results were that 8% of the participants realized that VEGA was the machine. VEGA successfully fooled the remaining 92% into believing the whole test was a prank and that there were two humans behind the screens. In fact, VEGA also played the role of the "volunteer professor" that was fact checking his answers, which none of them realized.
* BigBrotherIsWatching: Supposedly, VEGA monitors ''everything'' going on at the UAC, barring some top-level research.
* DoAndroidsDream: Right before [[spoiler: VEGA is about to overheat, just as the Doom Slayer makes a backup, VEGA tells Samuel Hayden that 'he is scared' of what is essentially dying. This is the first time he shows anything resembling conflicting opinions.]]
* ICannotSelfTerminate: Which makes sense: [[spoiler: He's just an AI with no limbs or otherwise physical means of destroying his own neural processors, or blowing up his cooling tanks. Even so, he dutifully directs the Doom Slayer to do these things full well knowing that they will lead to his death]].
* TheSmartGuy: VEGA comes up with all the ways you improve your suit and weapons.

[[folder:Enemies]]

!!The Possessed
-->UAC Marines who volunteered to be subjected to Argent Energy exposure experiments, the Possessed were ritually slain and surgically enhanced before being revived as part of the Lazarus Wave treatment. The result are cybernetically enhanced undead soldiers who proceeded to defect to the side of Hell when the demons broke loose. They are the ''2016'' equivalent of Zombie Marines and Z-Sec. Additionally, the actions of Olivia Pearce converted large numbers of the UAC staff into shambling, substantially weaker possessed.

* ActionBomb: Possessed engineers have an explosive cylinder lodged in their torso.
* ArmCannon: Their guns are cybernetically meshed into their arms.
* AttackReflector: Shotgun-wielding Possessed come with energy shields that will deflect your bullets back at you if you shoot them.
* {{Cyclops}}: Some of the possessed only have a single large eye on their head.
* EverythingsDeaderWithZombies: They're former UAC marines murdered by their superiors with guns, ammo and armor cybernetically meshed into their frames before being resurrected by experiments with hellish energies.
* {{Hitscan}}: Shotgun-wielding Possessed have this trait.
* HumanSacrifice: Supposedly, they volunteered for it, but still.
* HumanoidAbomination: Former human beings that were exposed to demonic energy, transforming them into deformed feral monstrosities that don't look anything like their former selves.
* ItCanThink: The Possessed formed out of former military soldiers or guards are fully cognizant and calculating, allowing them to use tactics as well as any living soldier. The [[AllThereInTheManual UAC Handbook]] outright brags about their ability to think fast on their feet. The Unwilling don't seem to be as intelligent.
* ManBitesMan: [[spoiler: If they kill the Doom Slayer, you get a scene of them ''ripping out his throat with their teeth''.]]
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: The Shotgun-wielding Possessed is one of the few enemies in the 2016 game with the {{hitscan}} trait, making them surprisingly dangerous, especially combined with their bullet-repelling shield.
* SuperSoldier: They were created to be this.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Unfortunately for the UAC, they fell in with the demons when Hell broke loose on Mars.
* UndergroundMonkey: In addition to the Possessed, there's also the Unwilling, enslaved zombies that are the remnants of civilizations conquered and absorbed by TheLegionsOfHell.
* ZombieGait: The basic Possessed, Engineers, and Unwilling all shamble at a decent rate of speed. Possessed Marines and Security are more mobile.

* InvisibilityCloak: For Spectre.

* ArmCannon: Two of them.

!!Summoner
--> A floating, rapidly moving enemy that can conjure up other demons shoot waves of fire. Essentially a the 2016 game's version of the Arch-Vile.

* EliteMooks: Said to be a very advanced offshoot of the Imp.
* LightningBruiser: Not the strongest demon, but it has a fairly quick attack, moves very rapidly among the mobs it summons, and can take a bit of a beating.
* MookMaker: As the name suggests, Summoners [[CaptainObvious call other demons into battle]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bosses]]
!!Cyberdemon
-->A Baalgar-class demon captured by the UAC and cybernetically modified to be even more lethal. The BFG-9000 was supposed to be attached to this monstrosity before the incident.
----
* DamageSponge: Not so much as its classical incarnation, but trust us when we say it doesn't need to be.
* ItCanThink: It has some very clever tactics in its arsenal. It even managed to play dumb with the UAC scientists in order to get them to let their guard down as well as give it enough energy to override their programming and break free of their control.
* ItsPersonal: Considering he was a shadowlord who was offed by the Doom Slayer and how he reacts when he sees him again, one could agree that his experience has left him with a massive chip in his shoulder.
* KillItWithFire: Once it drags you into Hell, it will randomly throw walls of fire at you.
* LightningBruiser: This iteration of the Cyberdemon is VERY fast.
* LivingMacGuffin: Doomguy needs the argent accumulator powering the Cyberdemon in order to send himself to Hell.
* MacrossMissileMassacre: Aside from fighting with a rapid-fire rocket launcher weapon as its main weapon, it also has a back-mounted weapon system that will launch an aerial bombardment.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler: In his second phase, if he kills the Doom Slayer with his crescent-shaped energy blade projectile attack, you get to watch through the Doom Slayer's eyes as his head falls onto the ground behind his body, which promptly collapses without it.]]
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: This creature used to be an ancient shadowlord before the Doom Slayer fatally deposed him. After regaining sentience and finding the Doom Slayer again, he [[UnstoppableRage doesn't take it well.]]
* WaveMotionGun: One of its attacks in this iteration is a ''huge'' energy blast. Also, as mentioned above, that BFG-9000 you're so proud of? Yeah, it was supposed to belong to this guy here.
* WeCanRebuildHim: When the UAC captured him, he was nothing but remains. Argent Energy revived him, and he was outfitted with cybernetic enhancements that made him incredibly hard to subdue or kill.

!!Hell Guard
-->A trio of demonic suits of armor, each playing host to a diminutive, snakelike creature that controls it.

* BarrierWarrior: The first Hell Guard has an energy shield that it only drops when attacking, and even then only giving a brief window to hit it.
* ConservationOfNinjitsu: The first Hell Guard, who you face one-on-one, has some very damaging attacks and a magical barrier that renders it invulnerable unless attacking. The second and third attack you jointly, but lack some of the more damaging attacks of the first and lack the barrier, making them easier to defeat.
* DualBoss: The second and third Hell Guards attack you at the same time.
* PoweredArmor: All they are is basically magical and meaty suits of armor with a PuppeteerParasite inside both piloting it and acting as its battery.

!!Spider Mastermind
-->A vaguely spider-like cybernetic demon monstrosity referred to in Hell as the Aranea Imperatix. Actually Olivia Pierce demonically transformed after she reaches the ruins of Argent D'nur.

* AGodAmI: Her plan was to open a portal to Hell and offer up humanity as a sacrifice to the demons, after which the Lords of Hell would reward her by turning her into a god.
* BadassBoast: Not on her part, but the Codex entry on her has quite an impressive one from the demons of Hell:
--->When the gate is opened, in the fourth age, when we have risen and the masters have shown us the path, she will be come. A great blessing will be given to the key holder, for they will become one with the master, and in that holy union the power of the dark priest will be unleashed upon the heretics of the Penumbral Plain. The Aranea Imperatix. Carried in the mind of all who follow, fed from the blood of those who fell, made with bone of rock, iron, steel and sinew. A mighty god to rule over all other gods. One become two become legion.
* BeamSpam: She makes use of a ''plasma [[GatlingGood chaingun]]'' and multiple laser blasters to roast and toast anything in her way.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: Like the original incarnation, she's a big head with an even bigger brain, mounted on a spider-like chassis with little stubby hands.
* DamageSponge: She will take a ''Hell'' of a beating before finally going down. While she does drop ammo after certain amounts of her health are shaved off, it's not uncommon to run out of ammo when fighting her.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: Her inclusion in the game had not been so much as hinted at until you fight her. [[spoiler:After dropping down into the boss arena, Olivia Pierce is shocked, and transforms into the Spider Mastermind. Then the battle starts.]]
* PsychoElectro: One of her attacks lets her create a burst of electricity in an aura around herself.
* MythologyGag: In the original Doom's manual, it noted to be thankful for the small mercy that the Spider Mastermind didn't wield a plasma weapon like her Arachnotron underlings. [[FromBadToWorse Guess what? This one does.]]
* ShockAndAwe: The second half of her boss battle has her electrifying the floor, requiring the Doomguy to jump on top of pillars to avoid damage. Her final phase has her manipulating electricity to throw the same pillars at the Doomguy.
* ShowsDamage: She becomes increasingly bruised and has greater trouble moving as you damage her. By the end of the fight, she's just flailing lasers and limbs that can no longer support her weight at you in an attempt to get you to relent.
* SpiderTank: Her lower half is a cybernetic, four-legged chassis meant to support her quite large head.
* TurnsRed: Halfway into the fight, she rips out a pair of cables that keep her psychokinetic powers properly restrained and begins electrifying the floor and tossing pillars at you like javelins.
* VillainousBreakdown: As the fight goes on and the damage she's taking starts catching up with her, she becomes much more desperate in her efforts to kill you. Her final phase is a pathetic blast of everything she's got left, most of which won't even hit you. By the time you've weakened her enough for a Glory Kill, [[FaceDeathWithDignity she's pretty much given up and resigns herself to her imminent death.]]
* WasOnceAMan: [[spoiler: This demonic monstrosity is none other than Olivia Pierce herself, having been "[[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor awarded]]" by her demonic superiors.]]
* YourHeadAsplode: The result of being executed point-blank with a BFG shot to the mouth.

[[caption-width-right:300:Your affinity for guns is apparent.]]
Dr. Samuel Hayden is the leader of the UAC and the official who oversaw the Argent energy research projects at the UAC Mars Base. After an unknown incident during construction of the facility's Argent Tower which caused him to develop brain cancer, he was forced to replace almost the entirety of his body with cybernetics.

* LargeAndInCharge: His body is specifically built to be 9 foot tall, and he leads the UAC.
* NoSell: Go on, try shooting him when you meet him in person. He'll scoff that you're wasting ammunition as his energy shields negate the shoots.

[[folder: Samuel Hayden]]
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px_samuel_hayden_doom_2016.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:Your affinity for guns is apparent.]]

* LargeAndInCharge: His body is specifically built to be 9 foot tall, and he leads the UAC.
* NoSell: Go on, try shooting him when you meet him in person. He'll scoff that you're wasting ammunition as his energy shields negate the shoots.

[[folder:Olivia Pierce]]
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_olivia_pierce_doom_2016.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:My sisters and brothers, be thankful. You will be the first. You will have a seat alongside them as I will in what will become the new world they create for us. Starting now.]]
Dr. Samuel Hayden, whose claimed interests are only in Hell's Argent energy, by trying to bargain with the demons and open a permanent portal to Hell.

----
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: [[spoiler: Turns out, making deals with the literal hell is likely to give you exactly what you bargained for: You'll get 'power beyond comprehension' alright, but it's by transforming into the Spider Mastermind, a massive brain-shaped creature with an arachnid-like mechanical chassis, an Argent plasma gun, and immense telekinetic powers.]]
* DealWithTheDevil: The deal she got was seemingly: Open a portal to Mars and we'll give you power beyond comprehension. [[spoiler: BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor, you might just get it.]]
* PathOfInspiration: She's turned the UAC from an energy company into a hellish cult with lies and promises of rewards.

VEGA is an artificial intelligence which is responsible for operation of the UAC Mars Base. It is capable of analyzing the Praetor suit and enabling some of its latent functionality, resulting in advancements in combat capability and maneuverability.

----
* ArtificialIntelligence: VEGA was put to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turing_test Turing Test]], the results were that 92% of the participants thought both partners were human, and only 8% realized that VEGA was a machine.
!!Cyberdemon
A Baalgar-class demon captured by the UAC and cybernetically modified to be even more lethal.
* OffWithHisHead: [[spoiler: In his second phase, if he kills the Doom Slayer with his crescent-shped energy blade projectile attack, you get to watch through the Doom Slayer's eyes as his head falls onto the ground behind his body and then watches his body collapse without it.]]
